"Skip Religon: How good do the Fogals play the game."

Personally, I am thinking not well.

It seems to me the Fogals have built up an early warning to the diffirent teams.

There are claims that stealing the clue is just editting.

But the scam on the canoes is clearly not. Two teams alerted not to trust working with them.

While they did not do anything wrong in the third epsiode, neither did they pull thier weight. A smart team and Air Force is smart, will realize they have nothing to gain in the future working with them. Another team alerted.

The final show in the swamp has Kathy (right spelling) turn into a little child. I don't know how many teams saw her just sitting there crying. But who wants that when trying to win.

The father clearly knows how to figure out the game but have the daughter or mother solved any of the problems? The daughter may atleast once, but I don't remember the mother doing so.

So how do you rate the Fogals just based on game play?

I give them a D+. They're still there, which is the only thing that saved them from an F. When they had to team up with XAF, they never even made it there -- where in the heck were they? Mom Fogal is always on the phone -- gotta see what everyone else is doing. Young Fogal is crying and whining regularly as though her parents brought her with like it's an Outward Bound stint for troubled teens. Jeez, I don't have this stuff on tape, but it would be interesting to go back and see how many clues they've actually figured out for themselves. They've gotten help a few times -- carrying the canoe, keeping Young Fogal moving in the swamp, XAF telling them where to go and what to do in the team-up competition. Again, that's just off the top of my head -- prolly more that I don't recall.

Not that it has anything to do with their game play, but whenever I look at the Fogal mom I am reminded of Glenn Close. Anyone else?

Looking at the way they were edited in episode #1, I wrote that they make final 4 and I still think they will, even if they got most teams against them. It's a sorry bunch of contestants!

I agree, if only due the fact that they have been positioned as the villain team. The ratings will stay up there as long as they continue.

What I can't understand is why they didn't mapquest the driving directions to the School in Boston? Instead they were 50+ Miles away. It doesn't seem like they are using the technology they were given to help themselves. Instead, they are relying on phoning other teams to see where they are.

I give them a D- and say they won't make it much longer.

What is wierd about that is that we do see them using the computer at times and getting the right answer. So they are knowledgable about search engines. But when they seem to be at thier most lost, then is also exactly when we don't see them using the machine.

It must also relate to thier actions towards other teams, they can't seem to think about getting help from outside thier family.

I did the search on ASK.com, it was at the top of the first page displayed. Easy.

They just seem to not like using the computer.

really? i thought he took it right out of her hands. i have to admit that i don't like them, so i am a little biased.

they don't seem to have thought out their strategy very well--if "Fogaling" other teams is their strategy, and it looks like it is--they just aren't strong enough on their own. so far they have needed a lot of help from other teams, and except for Romber (and the weavers a little bit), competitors on these shows don't make it that far with all the other teams working against them--especially right off the bat.

the fact that they justify their behavior with the "we're just playing the game" makes it worse--they expect other teams to help them even though they haven't been returning the favor. overall, these teams have worked together a lot, but i expect that will change as the game goes on. if you are the first/only team playing like that then you need to be strong enough to make it on your own--just ask the Hanlons. (yeah, i know that was a little different)

do they know how to use the computer? or even stop to get a map or ask directions?

Unsportsman like for sure. Hypocritical also but that isn't against the rules. Wasn't it Katie Fogal, using the computer, that first found that song lyrics were used by slaves as secret codes and figured the gourd song would lead to the boxes?
Team Air Force almost has to keep helping them as most teams have placed a target on them also.
For some unexplainable reason, the Southie Boys stayed with the Fogals in the swamp even when Katie slowed them down. Maybe they have forgotten a bit about the "fogalling" that we as viewers keep reminding each other.

Face it, they seem to be in for a while.

i honestly don't know because i have such an extreme dislike for her that i tend to tune/block her out--i should probably get over that before i start making such broad generalizations about their team.

i guess that could be one reason they went back for her--actually, that is the only reason i would have done it.

I could not believe the hysterics the female fogels went into at the thought of leaving little Katie Kaboom behind. You would have thought there were leaving here to die. If I was the dad, I would have left both of them and finished on my own. Although, I'm betting there is a task in the next leg that requires multiple people (like carrying a canoe) and any team that drops a player is hosed.
