By the way, if you missed it, the Bernie Mac Show's season premiere is September 18th, with special guest stars Matt Damon and Lucy Lawless.

It's amazing what coming in first in the ratings will do for you. Has Fox ever done that before?

Anyways, I was very disappointed in last night's American Idol: The Fox Fall Schedule Pimpin' Show. I'd be shocked if there was more than 30 minutes of actual content last night. Just some random thoughts:

Kelly- Wow. I know she's set regardless of how this show ends, but if she doesn't win, it's a damn shame.

Interesting how Justin's the only one who didn't sing the song the judges picked for him. Guess cause it didn't allow him to dance around and love the audience. At least with that slight squatty stance he's got, he has a future in movies. Unfortunately, it's probably German schesse films.

The retrospectives were nice tho. It was fun seeing how much all of these people have changed since the auditions many moons ago. Heck, has Justin's hair gotten out of control or WHAT.

They really should've re-shot or re-edited some of Nikki's "eulogy" clips though. Because she's gone from Tequila Sunrise hair to Kelly Osbourne hair, it was painfully obvious that it was several weeks old, and I think there were only a couple of very brief inserts of her post-change.

Did they air any clips from the "Big Band" show during anyone's retrospective? Didn't think so. Let's just pretend that one never happened.

Oh, and what was the point of having the ex-contestants there? And was Ryan there, or is she being punished for her comments a couple weeks back about the show being rigged?

I don't have much to say, for once.

The right contestant was booted, finally. Nikki can only sing about five songs that fit her range and even then she is mediocre at best.

Kelly's jeans were not flattering! But, I still love her!

Did anyone else think that having Nikki step forward and then saying you are eliminated was a mistake by Seacrest? Shouldn't one of the two that was safe stepped forward first to build the suspense. The ouster was anti-climactic.

I read that the producers were not happy with the hosts or most of the judges. They said Paula was too interested in giving a group hug (true). So next season we will have a new cast. Melissa from Real World New Orleans tried out for host but didn't make it; I think she would be a lot better than Dunkleman or Seacrest; she at least has the ability to ad lib.

Oh, and Debbie Gibson is supposedly interested in judging next season. I guess she would be the new Paula. Oh, excuse me, Deborah Gibson.

If there had been any doubt about the outcome, then I can see where you're coming from. But there really wasn't, and they'd already beaten us down with that "2 minute setup for the boot, then 4 minutes of commercials" thing they love doing. At that point you're just prolonging the inevitable.

I think my backside would be a lot better than Dumb n Dumber, but that's just me. Who the heck are these guys anyways? Are they radio guys? If so, I'm sure LA has a lot better than these wastes of time.

Debbie, Deborah, paint poop blue and it's still poop.

Actually I like Randy, he's got the cred of having worked with so many big names in the biz, and he's fairly impartial. I just wish he'd drop the "Justin Justin Justin" bit, it's annoying. I still love the bit of him switching with Kelly at the audition though.

Simon HAS to stay though. He is the reason, IMHO, this show caught on as well as it did. People like me tuned in, not to see starry-eyed kids chasing a dream, but to see this cheeky Brit crushing those dreams with some of the best lines ever.

Actually only Seacrest is a "radio guy". He has a radio show in the afternoons in LA. Dunkleman is a "comedian". He is actually the one who writes most of the banter between the two.

I would like Randy as a judge if he can stop 1. three-peating every name 2. mentioning RJ's initials when RJ was still around 3. bringing up Mariah, Whitney, and Celine. Those three are great singers, yes, but why should everyone strive to be like them, because they worked with Randy? Since two of them are on the verge if not over the edge of having a mental breakdown, I might not consider it a compliment to be compared to them.

LOL Draco, LOL

I actually like Deborah though, she has worked hard to re-create herself in recent years, she has been in several Broadway shows in the last five years and gotten good notices by the critics and audience.

She will probably have learned from Paula's mistakes.

The man actually knows what he is talking about, and is not afraid to tell the kids if they were bad. But will give them good, solid advice on how to improve, that is what you want in a judge. Simon does it too, but he is there mostly for show.

As for the kids. Good to see the audience did the right thing. Kelly HAS to win this thing, but I would still be shocked if Justin does not win.

GO KELLY !!!!!

BTW, I looooove Bernie Mac.

I love it when you get on a roll. Once you get started, lines like the above are inevitable. Thanks.

Bwahahahaha! Thanks for the great laugh, Draco. I agree with what you say, this show did not need to be stretched into an hour episode. I did love hearing Kelly sing "Without You" again, though. I think she did even better than the previous night. Glad Nikki's gone, she can sing OK, but not great.

BTW-Don't forget the Bernie Mac Show's premiere is Sept. 18th.
