I think Joe's playing for Steve was supposed to represent a positive step in the rifts with Aerosmith. IIRC Steve said the others resented his doing AI when he first took the job. It may have been the Matt Lauer interview.

Votewise, I could see this being any of the three -- but I think Heejun's being punished. Individuality is the sin, FOX is the court, and the jury has been shot in the name of keeping Stediva happy. Someone else could go -- but I don't like the odds in a rigged game.

I'm guessing Heyjun is popular from all the airtime they gave him...more popular than ones they want to have stay...so they are trying to undo some of the build up he got before the top 13.

Sanjaya made it to...7? Heyjun will likely hang in awhile longer. I look for the judges to go easy on him one week, then the fan base relaxes, and then he's the boot.

Next week or two should be the "shocker" boot. Neither Deandre or Heyjun would a shocker. Nor Elise.

That leaves Colton, P2, Joshua, Skylar, Jessica, or Hollie. Who can they spare?

Arguably Hollie or Joshua under the current model. The South will keep Skylar in as the country girl and P2 and Colton are heading for the end. Last year makes me think Jessica could freefall out at any moment, but it's still a little early for her -- or not.

I'd like next week to be DeAndre, but my best hope would be someone taking out his hair.

Probably Hollie. She struggling and really she shouldn't be, and she keeps getting comments about how she's not quite there. Plus, she's dressing way too old whereas Jessica is looking young and cute. This week her little sparkly top was nice but the rest of the outfit was something from The Golden Girls.

Hollie is the Pia - complete with big diva ballads that she's not *quite* doing as well as they need to be done.

It's too bad; I prefer Hollie to Jessica but one of them is going to have to be the shocking boot if the other one is going to get to the end.

I haven't read the performance thread yet so I don't know if anyone said this but they made her look like Kim Kardashian's mom who is 50! Just putting Pia in ugly pants last year got Pia booted so I was not surprised Erica went last night.

Poor Erica. I wonder if her sobs were over her hair more than her boot. She was looking at her goodbye footage choking back the tears until the others came to hug her. She was a wildcard pick so her expectations were likely in check for her longevity on the show. Yet, not being b3 last week made it easy for her to hope for more. I think the show wanted to distinguish between the blondes.

I find Heejun to be very underwhelming and wonder how long the show is going to carry him.
