Will we see if they ever get to the performances or we get two more hours of drama, fainting, and vomit.

If the episodes maintain their current quality level, I may be able to provide the vomit. I'm dreading this episode. Say what you will about applicants and the talent level thereof, but the editing has been at an all-time low.

I'll alert Ed Sullivan.

how many will survive.

42 groups

The Betty's up first

What happened to Randy's jacket?

What is Type-A?

Well all the drama and crying and vomiting did wonders for their voices.

Cuts right away. Jennifer step forward, Cari step forward. You two are going through.

"First group does not get buckwild."

The first group gets a Saaphyri: immediate jail time for fraud.

"Groove Sauce"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 09:10 PM
They avoided the drama and the sickness...will it help?

Seems to. Nice ending on the piece. Standing O from the judges, now for the cuts.

All through to the next round.

"RE: Groove Sauce"
Posted by Estee on 02-15-12 at 09:13 PM
But without drama and sickness, how can they ever hope to score a tabloid headline?

I keep waiting for Randy to pull out his favorite uncomprehending "Broadway!" This is where it can be legitimately applied (although his thinking it's a bad thing remains stupid). But so far, nothing. He hasn't even gone Glee on us.

Steven has, but that's just his morning dosage.

*pours white wine*

Brielle's group. 6-7-9

Hit 'em up scale....why do groups seem to like doing this song, because I'm not sure anyone can do it well.

Deliberations.

Individually and past performances.

Shannon, Brielle, Amber, Joshua step forward. Front row through, Kyle it is the end of the row.

"Bored."

Really bored.

Extremely bored.

'I wonder if this whole One World twist might actually work out?' bored.

"Make You Believers"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 09:23 PM
Patient Zero's group.

One of the group fainted, not patient zero. So dizzy. Jacquie will not perform, now do it as a trio. Jacquie trying to get well enough to perform.

Going to try it and she's out with the group.

More than a Feeling. First guy lost the lyrics. Patient Zero does as well. Mathnee {?} tries to make up for it with loud as does Jacquie.

Jacquie, Amy, and Dustin step forward. End of the line, Matinee gets through.

"We can't cure the virus"

so we're just going to quarantine it in the woods. Hey, there's a new TVTrope: Sealed Evil In A Tent.

We have reached the portion of the night where Jennifer begins to daydream about things she would rather be doing. Possibility #1: "I get that a lot."

I'd let her through just for improv value.

"Full Swing Anxiety"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 09:34 PM
Will they pull it together, the pressure to deliver is taking it's toll.

Lyrics, what are those.

Verbal amnesia runs rampant.

Mumbled. Oooh ohs and yea yeahs, or both. Making up your own lyrics.

How many times can the judges suggest helping each other out.

Cop's group, Christian sick. Those girls and that guy. Trying to stir up some fun.

Wow, the audience in there is as bored as the audience out here.

*yawn*

Little rough around the edges. None of you made it through.

"RE: Full Swing Anxiety"
Posted by Estee on 02-15-12 at 09:38 PM
I'm not sure Amy's going to live long enough to reach the woods. All those people who will convince themselves she's the reason they went home? Run.

"Last Minute Touchups"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 09:42 PM
Area 451?

Imani passed out.

Hollywood Five, more stage parents.

Moment of truth, will they get mercy, they do, but we don't, all through to the next round.

"It's the theme song."

"Area 451"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 09:46 PM
Imani up and back down again.

She makes it back to the group. She's going to push through.

And she's down again and someone in her group has to be told to stop singing.

They aren't going to be happy until someone dies on stage are they?

"Replaying the fall"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 09:52 PM
Because once is not enough.

You gave it your best shot, let her sit on the side. Bryce what was happening to the words.

Deliberations.

Bryce and Christie out, Imani going home. Johnny the only one through.

"RE: Replaying the fall"
Posted by Estee on 02-15-12 at 09:56 PM
So how do we eliminate the sick girl without looking like jerks? Too late!

This is a cross between a Biggest Loser edit and an OWN I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant Until The Kid Was Four. Pointless repetitive plotlines, uncaring editing, no characters to care about, and complete idiocy in just giving it airtime.

The only show that produces superficial -- in bulk quantity!

Johnny is a bit of a tool, isn't he? Singing while Imani is flat on her back.

Hasn't anyone heard of giving someone who's fainted some orange juice?

"Asians vs Cowboys"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 09:58 PM
Richie went into confession by himself after the group confession.

Good or bad no in between, one will be taken down and it won't be me.

Has a mouth but no ears.

Based on every time, and some pitch problems, all you guys are through. Need to see your stand out again.

Joining them are people we didn't bother showing their group.

"RE: Asians vs Cowboys"
Posted by Estee on 02-15-12 at 10:01 PM
Wonder if we just didn't see the winner.

Cowboys Vs. Asians In 3D! Starring Steven as the Host With No Brain! Jennifer as The Fifty-Foot Diva! And Randy as Doctor Cockroach! (We stepped on him. It did nothing!)

"RE: Asians vs Cowboys"
Posted by mrc on 02-15-12 at 10:26 PM
Cowboy was as horrible as Heejun was hilarious.

"About the editing."
Posted by Estee on 02-15-12 at 10:09 PM
So group formation/practice/performance couldn't be a single two-hour episode. But group performance/back to solos has to be.

Someone at FOX must love The Finder.

"Performing with the Idol Band"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:12 PM
Sound Check with judges and some of the contestants. J. Lo missed it

98 contestants left, can choose to play an instrument, no results until the end of the day.

Flight anxiety nearly took out one guy. Joshua Ledit. Starting off shaky, brings it home in the end.

Colton Dixon who was attacked by a bleach brush plays keyboards with his performance.

Phillip Squared. Plays guitar. Has a funny tone to his voice.

And oh yeah, a girl tried out. Gets a standing O to pretend she has a chance.

"Ryan keeps talking about 'final cuts'."
Posted by Estee on 02-15-12 at 10:14 PM
And sure, Ryan lies a lot -- but where are The Rooms? Are we going directly from this to the Long Walk?

"RE: Ryan keeps talking about 'final cuts'."
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:28 PM
I think the rooms are after the "no commentary except when the judges scream things out anyway" round.

"Going well"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:27 PM
And then the thunder rolls and people fall to pieces.

Reed Grimm was singing a capella, and word is that he can't do that has 1/2 an hour and wants to do pretty much anything that isn't working with the vocal coach.

Pretending another girl has a chance, she's OMG 16!!11

Reed stunned and 15 minutes to go and gets an assessment.

Key of G and he's on the drums.

Cue the protest letters, may the gawds be with us? by a producer????

Gets some commentary from the judges tossed out. Hoping performed well enough.

Will Parents give a life changing performance, after the break.

"RE: Going well"
Posted by Estee on 02-15-12 at 10:30 PM
I know (or strongly suspect) Reed's through, but that felt like watching a cross between a slow-motion sabotage play -- one of the few times we've seen producer tricks in action at this stage -- and a drama Reed himself was putting on for the show: the two-act play called I Will Survive The Danger Through Not Noticing It.

Meanwhile, Shannon's as safe as anyone, and could even survive a few voting rounds. Beyond that... Talented Teen Seeks Good Storyline.

"RE: Going well"

just me? or does anyone else think Reed could be Jake's brother or cousin? (Jake from Bachelor)

"Emotions run high"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:37 PM
And ambulance bills.

Skylar and 3 liters of saline. And she stays standing, and gets comments.

Rachelle Lamb another country singer. Part of the Jam Session.

I think I just messed up. Starts over.

Brokey (White Chocolate) gets the last spot. What is with the white hankie taillette?

"Boredom runs higher."
Posted by Estee on 02-15-12 at 10:42 PM
If I was any more bored, I would be twins.

"Theater empty"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:44 PM
But for the judges.

Not an easy job coming up with all the lines to pretend they are doing anything other than what the producers decided they were going to do awhile ago.

Off to the Rooms.

"Rooms"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:46 PM
4 rooms

Contestants divided up and settled, the most brutal cuts of all.

Room One won't wait long.

Where we lose a lot of people we love. Hard day for all of you. Only the strong survive. Have to be great every single time. So much talent in this room it is crazy, crazy.

You guys are all through.

"Room Three"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:49 PM
They hear the cheering. Maybe blowing out my voice jamming with Steven Tyler wasn't a good idea. Happy people need to respect those that can't keep it together.

Judges sense tension in the air, who will stay who will go...after the break.

Judges sense tension in the air

I'm just getting desperation. We really are in Extreme Fast Forward mode. They usually manage to waste an entire hour on Rooms. (Hai, victimized viewership!) There must be a real push to get their voting rounds going before The Voice picks up any more steam.

"After the Break....Rooms"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:56 PM
Room 2, you are going through, that was short.

Room 3 stress at an all time high. All over a belch. At the breaking point.

The judges come in.

Tough, best talent ever, not going through. All amazing, hard decision and we will miss all of you.

You all had a shot, just didn't work out this time.

"Room Four"
Posted by Snidget on 02-15-12 at 10:58 PM
Terrified vs Confident.

Just want the wait to be over.

Steven, you do it quick.

Randy starts talking about how tough it is, put you out of your misery, and you are through.

Going to Las Vegas.

New bonds form, groups are pushed to the breaking point.

Biggest Challenge, Toughest Cuts.

What happens in Vegas, will blow you away.

Yeah, right.

The Vocal Coach From Hell is back? Fine. Bring her back. But I'm out and will stay so until she leaves. I refuse to spend that kind of time in the company of someone I already would have punched in the face.
