Back from the edge of the cliff-hanger tonight. What other drama, real or manufactured, will we see tonight?

How can you have a cliffhanger when she fell off the edge?BTW, did you read Nigel's interview on the front page? It's super-nauseating!

I glanced at it, but I'm trying to keep my dinner down.

*nods* To read Nigel closely is to feel your hand nudge the mouse towards the Worster 'join' button. But he was asked why the show bothers with group rounds when singing as anything other than a solo act has nothing to do with the competition and he could barely fake an answer. So he went with about seven. It's about dealing with other people. It's about the solo within the group performance. It's so the judges can compare them to someone else. It's about personality!
And at no time did he say 'It's about the pointless drama.' Stupid, really. Everyone would have bought that.

At least that is what I swear I heard Ryan say.

So. Wanna watch Wipeout and pretend people falling down is funny?

Replay of the fall, MEDIC!Other contestants circle up in prayer.
That green can doesn't look like the Coke they called for after all only a sponsor can cure.
Off to hospital with Dad. The Show must go on.
Review of the non-fainting singers in the group from last night, or at least people we have heard of.
Brianna step forward, Ethan, Lauren Minks. Jeremy in the other line. Front line going home.

They are so happy and excited, for the moment.Doesn't take long for the claws to come out, and drama promised and we have more fainting.

It's like last year. 'He forgot the lyrics and improvised, then got through! I'm gonna do it!''She fainted and they moved her on! Pass-out city, here I come!'

Could have been Sprite...Nigel was commenting about people who only consume energy drinks and forget to eat. Of course, this is a FOX reality show and there may not be food available for Hollywood contestants. Well, not free food.
I half-want to bash the judges for essentially doing nothing during the first few minutes, but once the medics have been called in (and they were very close by -- points for that), there really isn't much you can do.
On the other hand, Jennifer saying she wanted to tell Simone that it was one of the sweetest sounds she'd heard all day can be converted to an inappropriate 'When your head collided with the floor' with ease.

The ultimate test -- of musical chairs!Nigel claims the choreography is unnecessary. Anyone tell the cannon fodder?

Critical challenge separates the pack. Clashing personalities with an impossible task. 1 night, 20 songs, master their routine.File in and Ken lays down the rules. 4-5, day one and day two contestants. Day One thought they could just be together and get an extra day of gelling.
Homeless girl can't find a home, and feeling sick all day long. She needs some fresh air.
Looks like we have a mass hysteria breakout of falling downitis.

Going back to Nigel for a lonely sad second, he claimed the virus spread through a lot of the pack. Which means she potentially took down more dreams than he did! Gawds, he must hate her.The Day One/Day Two mixer is the same trick the show pulled last year. And they're telling us no one was ready for it? I'm calling lie -- someone would have watched and prepared, maybe even majority. We're just seeing the non-genre savvy.
Surprised the song list is so short. There's going to be some very bored judges by the end.

Tent girl finally bothers to wander over to the Cop, so they are up to three and trying to find someone.Brianna doesn't want to do any of the songs on the list and goes from group to group saying oh NO...
The cop is losing her group, and back to square one because she won't sing the song the other four want to do. Now she is walking around saying No to every other group's song choice.
Brianna is not leaving, people crying, screaming, mass hysteria, dogs and cats living together.

Police officers forced to deal with situations where they have no power? That's never not funny. As per usual, this is a whole lot of faux drama for ultimate results which are going to mean nothing against the predetermined lists. They're stressing out over very little. Those who were going home will do so: those who were staying are stuck here. Still not genre-savvy. @#$$, I dare a fifth of them to spell 'savvy'. And define 'genre'.

Cop still groupless.
Brianna found a group, The Betty's.Alisha may have a group, and they are all in groups.
Brielle with Pia's group last year, and she is the leader as she is experienced, her Mom says she is bossy and a control freak. Mom is a little judgemental but trying not to stage Mom.
Simone back from the hospital, trying to find a group. Trying not to be a stage Dad, he's going to be a famous mentor.
Sickness going around. Cowboy driving his group crazy.
After the break, panic sets in, wars break out,

Oh, Heejun. You're so bad with names. And even worse with confidence. How does a virus spread this fast? Was everyone that stressed out from the last round? Immune systems shouldn't go down that quickly...
Tell Simone's dad that Simon has two seats waiting and his ego can potentially fill both of them.
And would someone let the editors know this is an hour episode?
"Patient Zero."

Number of rejected Group Night contestants who will be waiting outside the theater to kill Amy: all of them.
"The sickness is going around"

right round like a record player right round round roun.Patient Zero has a new determination (how did the editors get that in from the VFTW play by play so fast)
Heejun not happy, doesn't seem like anyone is happy with chord change boy. Heejun hates all cowboys, cowboy is into benevolent dictatorships.
Exhaustion taking its toll. The Betty's are falling apart, people want to rest their voices, but others want to work through the night and everyone is better than we are already. Jennifer is all alone and won't go to sleep like the rest of the group.
"RE: The sickness is going around"
Posted by Estee on 02-09-12 at 09:55 PM
How ironic would it be if Jennifer blew out her voice by staying up all night complaining about everyone who went to bed? The resters are right -- we already had one person collapse from lack of nutrition/sleep and they don't need to add onto the count. But tell that to the taskmasters...The Determinationer? (How's the Worster PBP? They've been complaining about low numbers of late.)

What there is of it has pretty decent commentary, but I think having to many shows wore some people out.

I think their food poisoning theory has something going for it. Easier to blame the one sick girl in the editing than admit they hired a lousy caterer. They seem to be falling for Heejun. Careful, kids: you've been hurt before.
"We aren't going to get to hear them sing tonight?"
Posted by Snidget on 02-09-12 at 10:00 PM
Jennifer is joined by Brianna, and if they sabotage the rest of the group, well too bad.Morning comes early, and some up and working already. Judges arrive after a good night's sleep and hair and makeup talking smack about how a little sleep deprivation is good for people.
The Betty's up first.
And cut to break.
More gah-roups next week, more collapsing, victory short lived as leads to the toughest cuts yet.
"Typical."
Posted by Estee on 02-09-12 at 10:08 PM
So the only thing tonight accomplished was to make the vomiting in the hotel finally match the vomiting in the audience. Why are the ratings dropping? In part, it's the competition and thinned talent pool -- but some of it is because this year, the editors seem to have absolutely no idea what they're doing. As a two-hour episode, this could have worked. For a next-week two-parter, they'll lose time to recap, most of the smaller squabbles will be forgotten, and no one will care. Whatever craft there was in this producer is vanishing.
Nigel has a lot to worry about. I can't feel sorry for him.
