"AI #11 Auditions #2: Pittsburgh."

Did you know that in Georgia, calling an Afrimerican male 'a runner' is considered to be an immensely racist act? I didn't. Last night, a good part of the country didn't.

That number is a lot lower now.

Idol: making people bleed for laughs longer than any other current singing talent show.

Respect their record.

This -- is a hideous opening credits sequence.

This -- is more black and yellow than you've ever seen in one place before.

These -- are some seriously delusional people.

This -- is going to be a very long hour.

Grab the wheel at any time. You're better at capturing full names and songs at speed.

And here we have --

-- the most awkward human being in the world.

Oh dear gawds. We have found the one person on Earth with less social skills than Rachel. And they're giving him airtime. Lots of airtime. Subjective years. And of course he's going to completely voice-crack with a voice that makes me wish I was on crack and keep the happy bashing going for another year...

...those are musical notes.

He's hitting notes.

Was Nigel sleeping in?

Three yeses. He has no social skills and one yellow ticket. Hyejun is going to Hollywood, where his total lack of ability to talk will keep him out of all groups and get him tossed there. But this is so much farther than most ever make it.

*mutter*

Title still stands.

After that intro, I really expected William Hung 2.0

I liked him. He was memorable.

That is not a human being. That is a fae.

I spent all this time preparing teak daggers and now I can't remember where I put the cold iron.

"And they are 'professionals'"

LAST EDITED ON 01-19-12 AT 09:14 PM (EST)

For a very strange value of professional.

Reid Grimm, Mom and Dad met in a band. Added the kids to the show.
Theme Song to Family Matters?

And now they are inventing numbers for % yes.

I've been waiting for Randy to trot googol out for the last three seasons, but someone probably has to teach him what it is first.

I believe the city exports skunk beers mixed by blind zebras.

"Mass planking event."

Or as I like to call it, Rickstilled.

Steven acknowledges the possibility of lesbian contestants! -- with sisters. My, PedoBoy's on a roll.

"Auditioning as a planker..."

she sings better when her sister planks.

Samantha Novanger and Patricia on the floor.

Oh please let them go as a pair and have her plank live on stage.
J--guts behind the voice
S--like it
R-likes the vibe.

She's to Hollywood and they both have tickets?

Oh, is that who that is? I thought the hospital was just using a generic coma soundtrack.

Optional response: There was a 'Bet you can't strip to this' challenge during the last party...

"Chreighton Fraker"
Posted by Snidget on 01-19-12 at 09:24 PM
That can't be a real name...wrote song on the way over about judges picking an American Idol.

That? was genius???

Make him sing something with a beginning middle and end?

And Steven says he is a beautiful man.

They are liking this and talking all over each other.

Stop with the million % thing, he is going to Hollywood.

"RE: Chreighton Fraker"
Posted by Estee on 01-19-12 at 09:27 PM
I hate commenting on someone's appearance, but my first thought on seeing him was that he was in the first stages of a horrible wasting disease and was about to pass it to Steven. And since no one can tell Steven has it, the rest of the country would die.

I have no objections to commenting on singing, and I can't think of any way he ever would have gotten a yes vote from Simon. The only explanations I have for that pass are a desperate casting need for characters and Nicole having left a full cup away from its biohazard container.

What Evan is too popular a name?

Uh Oh, meet the parents with how amazing he is, that could be a bad sign.

That wasn't bad, don't know how God given a gift it is. NO BEIBER MUSIC FOR BACKGROUND!!!!

Beiber-lyte going to Hollywood.

"Safe prediction."

By this time tomorrow, the Internet will have collectively found at least sixteen ways to misspell that.

And I meant his first name.

"Travis Orlando"
Posted by Snidget on 01-19-12 at 09:34 PM
Take Two.

He dropped out of high school. Last year's Idol audition caused his Mom to leave him and his brother with his sick Dad and they ended up in a shelter.

He sobbed his way into Hollywood.

Well, it was that or another Eben-level hypersupportive family. Pick one.

"Unrelenting positivity."

So you're saying no one in Pittsburgh ever did anything to find fault with? What are you, an NFL referee?

"Day Two"
Posted by Snidget on 01-19-12 at 09:42 PM
Randy and Randy put on a show.

Erica Van Pelt. Mobile DJ and Wedding Singer.

Going to Hollywood. Is it just me or are the judges more random than ever?

"RE: Day Two"
Posted by Estee on 01-19-12 at 09:43 PM
Do you think they're approaching Nicole & Paula levels?

Linus had a kid? I didn't even know blankets could get pregnant.

"Shane Bruce"

Coal Miner, whole family are coal miners, wants to be a singer for the rest of his life.

19. Halleluiah from Shrek.

They say he needs work, getting a not yet.

"RE: Shane Bruce"
Posted by Estee on 01-19-12 at 09:52 PM
And one year later, the coal dust had destroyed his lungs: he never sang again.

Surprised at this rejection, at least in light of some of the other tickets issued at this stop. There were people he outperformed that got to Hollywood -- and he just gets to go straight down. Very strange.

"Final Auditions"
Posted by Snidget on 01-19-12 at 09:59 PM
Hallie Day, 24, from B-more. Married 6 months, reason she is here.

Dropped out of high school and joined a girl group in NYC, and an addict. Moved home, drank a bottle of pills. Ended up in the ER. Then met her husband who loved her.

Steve wants her to sing something else as he likes watching her.

She is going to Hollywood.

It's not that she doesn't have some degree of talent, but oh dear gawds, grow a volume control.

It seems like we're seeing a lot more of the ones that gets thru and far less horrible failures. And yes, I realize that I probably just jinxed it but unlike Snidget and Estee I can FF.
