"Dancing With The Stars #4 Episode #15 (results) East Coast Update Thread"

Please keep the identities of the other celebrity and dancer to wind up in the Bottom Two on this thread until the West Coast gets to hear them say 'But we're not worried! There's no way this could be anything but Billy Ray's night!'

And if they're wrong? The Disney link has officially gone way too far. (Note to voters: he's not Hannah Montana's dad. Well, he is, but not in the way you think he is -- unless you think he's -- oh, forget it.)

and the very flamboyant instrumental version of "Clementine" from the band.......

My brain will still not accept that it really is that song.

It.Can't.Be.

It just can't. I know it is but it just can't be that.

Listen to the first part, before they get flamboyant, then imagine Huckleberry Hound singing "Oh My Darlin', Oh My Darlin' Clementine. She was lost and gone forever" etc. in his off-key voice and you might accept it then........

What if I like my little delusion?

It makes the world a saner place when Clementine can't sound like that.

While watching that did anyone else speculate on other things those two guys might do with those very -- how shall I put this -- movable hips?

Duh!

ETA - sorry, got into a heated discussion with DH and our company last night about men moving like that and why in the world would women find that attractive. I decided not to tell him that many women are probably imagining Maks in between the sheets (or in the shower, on top of the kitchen table, etc)....

Singing a song from her new album.

I'm really not enjoying her singing live. I like the studio version so much better.

She and Chris Richardson could do a nice nasal duet.

lol I'm not sure if this means you disagree with my joke
or if you forgot your glasses.

I do mostly like Nelly Furtado. I was just surprised at how
nasally she sang.

I thought that was the funniest Kimmel segment yet.

Considering that none of them have been funny in any way, you may be right.

"Moving On Couple #1"
Posted by Snidget on 05-08-07 at 09:29 PM
First couple moving on.

Ian and Cheryl.

Uh oh.... that means one of the three I want to move on is in danger.

*sits next to Snidget*

I'm sorry. Ian at least started out better than the judges gave him credit for, imo. But, as things have progressed he's still stiff & there is NO chemestry discernable between him & his partner.

The other 3 are soooo much better, and have come so much farther than he has, imo.

"Louis Van Amstel Light"

Why does it seem that Louis is dancing both the male and female parts when he dances? You have a partner, use her!

Laila and Max.

Apolo and Julianne is safe.

Joey and Kym in the bottom two.

Yikes.

"RE: Even More Results."

Just have to hope that BRC does get the axe at this point. Joey, imo, doesn't deserve, in any way, to go right now.

Posted by Snidget on 05-08-07 at 09:42 PM
Yep. Joey does not deserve to go home this week.

Joey is a professional dancer for petes sake! He should not even be on the show. Ever see n'Sync perform before? He had an unfair advantage. Never saw Ian dance on 90120.

I thought I had heard/read that Ian had some dance training as a kid growing up. He does seem to dance like someone that took some ballet or other such stuff as a child.

Most child (and adult) actors do sing and dance training as well as acting. Especially since he lists Broadway as part of what he does since back in the day.

I don't think he never danced ever at all until this show. He really does look like someone that has had a fair number of standard issue dance classes.

Technically I think Ian does better than Joey, but being able to bring a performance alive I prefer Apolo or Joey. Your mileage may vary.

Boy band dancing is dancing, but it isn't the same as ballroom and doesn't always translate in technique. You do learn how to pick up steps fairly quickly, but sometimes it is actually harder to unlearn one type of dance in order to do well at another than it is to learn a new dance from scratch.

Darn Heart beat music.

Billy Ray is going home.

I got a kick out of the way Billy Ray and partner were bopping their heads to the beat of the heartbeat. They knew they were toast and were just going with it.

I noticed the head bopping also. It was quite a contrast to the Joey and Kim. Billy Ray was so ready to go, kind of like Jerry last year.

I think he was ready to go at least 2 weeks ago............

"RE: Going home"

What I noticed was how scared Apolo looked until he was told they were safe. He looked like he paled when he realized Ian was safe and then Laila. He really wants this.

I was struck by how intense the final 4 all seem to be. They all said the right thing: "If it is meant to be, blah, blah, blah...", but they all really seem to want to win. Unfortunately, there is only one disco ball to be rewarded.
