"Top #6 theme (et. all): the Carole King catalog. "

As we once again prove that the FOX entertainment and news divisions aren't always on speaking terms.

On first glance, this selection arguably favors Lauren & Haley, edging towards Lauren overall. Beyond that, Scotty can probably find something, Jacob can put a gospel spin on anything whether it can take it or not, Casey can put his quirks on display -- but more than anyone else, James will need to think fast and hard. He can't punk this up -- or rather, he can, but anything beyond the costuming could give him the first trip into the B3 if the voters were going by performance.

(pause for laughter)

Not an artist I'd normally expect Idol to feature, musical influence aside -- and not one the contestants were likely thinking about before this. We'll see if they adjust.

Here's a wiki list but I think there are many, many more than this:

Other boards are buzzing with "the Locomotion" for James.

There's a VFTW undercurrent demanding Jacob do Natural Woman.

On a very slightly more serious note, they're suggesting Hard Rock Cafe with severe oversing for James.

Maybe MC can go back in time in the Antique Store and have some fun with Mark Farner, the lead on this.

Wow, Grand Funk RR, one of my fav all time bands!

Great vid, too.

Yeah, this would be an easy one for James.
