Programming note: I have a class thing at 8:15 on the phone so won't be available for play by play tonight. I may not be available for the next couple of Thursday's either.

Scotty had no country twang that I could detect tonight. For the first time, I actually enjoyed listening to him.

And I know everyone loves James but he is so pitchy. Why doesn't he get called out for that? Oh, yeah, because he's the chosen one.

No way these guys could be a barbershop trio. While their favored octaves might make it possible (James on the upper end, Scotty on the lower end), their tones are completely different and don't mix.

VFTW gets their victory early: Casey clear for another week. (How much of a difference they currently make with him is way unclear: I'm still not sure how Casey originally freefell out.) But they're looking at the potential loss of a horseman. Stefano's their only safe (and likely) out.

The B3 could have been called off by anyone watching the show or not watching it just based on prior patterns. The only shrug of 'huh' in the group was Haley being sent back immediately, possibly just to placate Jennifer and keep the producers from worrying about real voting changes for another five years. After all, if things were that bad, Haley would be out, right?

So we either lose the one-note or the no-note. Pick your unfavorite.

You know what, that hug from James right at the end of Stefano's song was kind of touching. In a nice way.

Kudos to Stefano for hanging in there and giving his best shot with full effort and good humor. I like the guy, although it was clear he wasn't destined to be the Idol.
