But they provided us with the best singers the series has ever produced! We have to not vote for someone! What do they want, an eight-way tie every week?

Can't we just vote Steven off? He's useless.

Gee do you think they'll rub Pia's elimination in our face again?

Let's see...

We all all so good. Gotta start singing to win. Pimpapalooza comments.

It's America's choice, unlike last week?

Hey no Pia!!! woot!!!

All about the results, top 8 got 53 million votes.

Great music Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna.

Great music Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna.

Unlike most of what Ryan says, that at least has the potential to be half-right.

Steven is the most beautiful man in the world.

Now that's subjectivity in action.

I thought I hallucinated that, are you telling me it was real?

and here I was ready to get my medications adjusted.

Well, y'do know that a lot of hallucinations take the form of things the victim subconsciously wants...

Sadly, that Big Bird look is the best one Wardrobe's found.

Much better than last night's upended black umbrella, though, I must say.

Agree on the color, but the style was flattering for her shape. I was thinking how future auditioners who are Laurens shape/size should take notes on how she is dressing these days (Gwen Stefani aside).

Also, Lauren's hair is looking very nice as compared to when she auditioned.

Fairly nice duet, these two, although a few notes escaped the harmony. Give them another week to practice together and they'd mesh just fine.

"Ryan claimed how many votes?"
Posted by Estee on 04-14-11 at 08:05 PM
I know the Worsters are using about ten thousand Facebook accounts, but that total can't sound good to them. The power voters were out in force last night across the board -- and who knows which contestants the rest of them were supporting?

Did Haley just say 'gay old time'? There went all the votes she picked up from the lack of skirt length.

James as a zombie -- does not have a lot of visible differences.

And they make Jacob scream and run. Sure, that always plays so well...

Did Haley just say 'gay old time'?

Is this where Jacob goes "Yabba-dabba-do!"?

Not bad as a pair, the two growlers are sort of a pair of swinging jazzy vocal gymnasts. Entertaining anyway.

Last night I was wishing for a Haley/Casey duet...and here it was!

I loved it! It was the best either of the have sounded in weks.

Throws to the judges for comments on the H-C duet.

Casey-Haley-Scotty-Lauren.

Scotty you are safe.
One of them is in the bottom three.

Lauren is safe.

The person back in the bottom three this week is Hayley.
Casey is safe.

"RE: Results"
Posted by Estee on 04-14-11 at 08:23 PM
Scotty was predictable. I thought Lauren might lose a few votes from tweens who think no one ever sang a note before Miley sprang into existence, but not enough to throw her under. The question was whether Casey's jazz confused more people than were lost by Haley plunging through a church window. There could have been two-thirds of the B3 in that group -- but as it turns out, the anti-XX-agenda is still in full swing.

So of Stefano, Jacob, Paul, and James, two are in trouble. James would be the shocker, but any of the remaining three have a lot to sweat about.

Except for Paul. Paul still isn't sure where he is.

"RE: Results"
Posted by cahaya on 04-14-11 at 08:25 PM
At this point, with only Hayley on the hot seat, and Casey cruisin' by, I'd say Stefano and Paul.

"RE: Results"
Posted by Estee on 04-14-11 at 08:29 PM
Jacob has reason for concern, though -- B3 last week. I just don't see him as picking up votes from the bases of departed contestants.

No two of those three would surprise me, though -- and neither would losing the sixth female.

"RE: Results"
Posted by cahaya on 04-14-11 at 08:23 PM
Well, I'd figured both Casey and Hayley for the bottom three, and it is indeed a pleasant surprise to see that America actually appreciates musical artistry. Yay, Casey!

So can you close your eyes and sing if you wear a giant cowboy hat low enough to cover them up?

Stefano should take notes.

Sounds more like Limon and Barfunkle.

No way these four voices can mesh, no matter how hard they try.

Jacob and James = strong on this.

Paul and Stefano = shown up.

Jacob, Paul, James, Stefano

James is safe.
Stefano is in the Bottom Three.

Jacob or Paul

Paul in the Bottom Three, Jacob is safe.

"RE: Results 2"

The most interesting part was watching Jacob slowly losing about eight inches of height.

Okay -- no real surprises here. Paul has the Worsters, Haley is the last legal crush available, and Stefano has -- well, someone's been voting for him. Possibly a three-way tossup, but it feels like Paul is safe this week. So would that mean Haley because all females must leave, or Stefano with people falsely blaming him for Pia?

Flip a coin.

Only girls have left Hayley breaks the cycle, she is safe on the couch.

Stefano or Paul...

First guy to leave the idol stage is Paul.

Stefano is safe.

Bleepage. No idea who the censors were going after.

And now the Worsties are crapping their pants and thinking who they need to caricature for next week.

"RE: Dim the lights"

Talk about being prepared -- their 'Paul is dead' article is already on the front page, along with a poll about who their next favorite should be. (I voted for Haley.)

And the headline for their Idol forum? 'CRAP'.

I know it's still way early, but Haley is in 2nd trailing... Casey?!

She also got my vote. I voted for her in the earlier poll, as well.

(eta) Now, it's a close 3rd with Jacob making a quick run to 2nd.

(etaa) Now, back to 2nd as the votes literally pour in. Looks like a three horse race here.

(etaaa) With 5,000+ VFTW votes, it's Haley on top by 30 over Casey, with Jacob close behind at 3rd 47 behind that and Stefano running three horses behind in 4th. We'll see what it looks like in the morning.

"By morning light"

Casey Abrams 21% 2,040
Haley Reinhart 22% 2,121
Jacob Lusk 22% 2,104
James Durbin 4% 339
Lauren Alaina 2% 203
Scotty McCreery 8% 808
Stefano Langone 21% 1,973

9,588 votes total

"By Friday night"

LAST EDITED ON 04-16-11 AT 02:02 AM (EST)

Casey Abrams 21% 3,668
Haley Reinhart 22% 4,001
Jacob Lusk 23% 4,068
James Durbin 4% 629
Lauren Alaina 2% 388
Scotty McCreery 8% 1,507
Stefano Langone 20% 3,615

Now it's Jacob on top, aptly enough, with Haley trailing by a mere 67 VFTW votes out of 17,885. Casey's looking safer (although he could use every vote he can get) and Stefano trails behind as usual.

This is a bonafide rare occurrence of a 4-way VFTW gang split.

An abundance of VFTW riches.

Jacob seems to be getting more support since the release of his recent arrest hit TMZ.

Why is the sing off the best Paul has ever sounded? I could finally see what others liked in him...still thought he should go, but was surprised he sounded so good.

"The Worsters pick up on the timing."
Posted by Estee on 04-15-11 at 07:31 AM
From Mosp on their 'who's next?' discussion.

"Okay, so I thought I'd just break in here to point out something that nobody has mentioned. The ending of the show tonight proved that the whole thing is scripted. Ryan asked Paul if he wanted to sing out, and Paul asked what he should sing (hint: it never happens that way - either they don't get the chance to sing or they sing what they want). Then Ryan turns to JLo and says the choice is up to her. She blinks teary-eyed and asks for Maggie Mae.

But here's the kicker: the song starts playing before the word Maggie hits her lips.

This proves: (1) The band knew Paul was going home and was given the song to play in advance; (2) JLo knew Paul was going home and her surprise and teary eyes were all fake; (3) Ryan knew that Paul would ask for a request; (4) Paul knew he was toast and was told to ask for a request.

Totally fake, and not a word here about what should be the death blow to this show if this flummery is given some publicity. This is the smoking gun, folks."

"RE: The Worsters pick up on the timing."
Posted by zazzy on 04-15-11 at 08:46 AM
You should post that on Idoloonies or one of Slezak's reviews. He can cut it into his vids next wek.

"RE: The Worsters pick up on the timing."
Posted by zazzy on 04-15-11 at 08:50 AM
The show may ask each contestant before the results show to name a song they would sing if they were booted. The judges may be told the song choices, too.

The band has to know in advance so they can be prepared, shuffling the music until Ryan is down to the F2, and then dropping to the booted one's preselected choice.

"RE: The Worsters pick up on the timing."

Naturally -- which makes the fakery into Jennifer's part in this. 'I will tearfully 'request" the song he was going to do the whole time. Respect my acting skills!' It doesn't mean she knew Paul was going, but she certainly knew what his selected exit tune was and hammed it up accordingly.
