"Final Results Show"

Posted by cahaya on 08-21-07 at 07:39 PM
All good things come to an end. Same goes for bad things. And this season has been a bit of both as On the Lot comes to a close tonight. Given the final results (probably about 5 minutes left to go in the show), we find out who gets that million-dollar deal with Dreamworks. I really wonder how they're going to fill up this hour, with too much room to screw up the production once again. And please, don't use Antonella as filler. Spielberg would be a nice addition.

The final three guys walk the red carpet on the way in, crowds alongside outside and along the aisles. Amazing, On the Lot still has a live audience.

Antonella in bright red. Including the gloss lipstick. The vamp has drawn blood. She swings her shoulders as she identifies herself.

We're given a season recrap. The low, deep voice sounds like it came from an NFL archivist going over some obscure, ancient LA Ram season where they barely didn't make it to the playoffs.

Zach is a favorite for showing off the talents of those who didn't make the Final 3.

LAST EDITED ON 08-21-07 AT 08:02 PM (EST)

Antonella asks Will a question (now I forget what), to which he replied, "No."
Antonella's response? A dismissive "Of course not." Pfft.

Now, Zach is showcased with the showing of Die Hardly Working, even funnier seeing it for the second time.

Oh, boy, it's going to be a long hour, with only 20 minutes gone.

You know it's bad when the commercials are more entertaining. Well, almost.

wait, it's the last show, and they are STILL showing reruns? No new stuff?!

New stuff? *snort*

They just introduced Mateen (check out his hair-do, man) and showed Catch (you know, that hokey guitar player, con man and cop foot chase clip without the usual political statement).

Now, already a half hour into the show, the final three give general comments about their experience while the better snippets of their clips are shown.

Then judges comments, starting with Carrie.

Antonella recaps last week's films and directors' comments.

A little slowly, but thankfully not drawn out too long, Antonella announces Adam is the first to go.

False start with the beginning of the announcement of the results "And the winner..." ending with "... (silence) ... (silence) ... after this break."

Ok, gimme a break. I need it.

Haha, I like how Adrieanna said "the winner of On The Lot 2007 is..." as if there would be an On the Lot 2008! Haha.

And we're back to the American Idol format ...we'll find out...after the break!

Yup, about that '2007' touch. You're right, the trophy can do without it.

now come on you know that the ditzy costa most likely has been "promised" a new contract and is to stupid to realize it's for "sleepovers" and not a show.

Did the SpielGod actually show up?

Nope, not yet. And at this point, I doubt he will.

Thank heavens it wasn't Jason!!!

Oh man, did Will actually thank God in his speech? Corny!! Haha.

He's in the limo to meet the big man himself - Speilburg.

After congratulations by Gary Marshall, Will walks up and out onto the red carpet and into a limo.

Brak-a-brak by the lady in red and then from inside the Hollywood limo, we're shown Will smiling and waving.

Next commercial break.

Is there still a little time left? For what?

why the big pay off of course!

*close up of a show and a door*

Thank you, Mr. Spielberg.

Geez Spielburg, hope you didn't wear yourself out with that whole 5 minute appearance!

But seriously, I hope Will does get to make a film, and I hope it's good, and does well. That might be enough to resurect this show for another season!

Dreamworks, the limo stops and Spielberg meets Will and compliments him, with "welcome to our lot". They walk in the gates to Heaven, as if in animated conversation, and the show ends with the credits.

Well, we got about 30-60 seconds from the god himself.

now, it we had gotten a shot of Adrianna in the unemployment line, THAT would have been a good finish.

"THANKS GUYS!"
Posted by Cathy the Canadian on 08-21-07 at 08:41 PM
Cahaya, Sunny Bunny, and the handful of others that have been in here week to week - it's been fun.

And if hell freezes over, and we actually get another season of this show, I'll meet you all back here next year.

Thank you, too, Cathy, as well as the other folks here for the fun this season. The Siskel & Ebert style reviews with Sunny Bunny for several weeks has been a lot of fun, too.

Alas, I don't think there will be a next season, but I'll have fond memories of this one.

I've so enjoyed panning this show with you guys week after week. Thanks for all the fun!

I won't be holding my breath for "On The Lot 2008", LOL.

I liked the show. They could've done sooooo many production/format things better.

LOL

Did anyone notice that when Adrianna announced Zach's movie Die Hardly Working she described it as "one long shot"? She didn't get the right movie. The one long shot movie was his first. The one in the lab where every thing goes wrong.

What an twit.

"One Last look at the ratings"
Posted by Sunny_Bunny on 08-22-07 at 10:20 PM
Well, it seems as if even the whisper of a chance that the SpielGod gracing this shows finale with his presence didn't make much of a difference for the ratings of this show.

8:00 p.m.: On the Lot 1.6/3 HH rating/share, 2.48M viewers.

I watched the final episode with one thought in mind.... "Please don't let Jason win".

So I was satisfied with the result. Will was as good as any.

Handled differently this could have been a good show. They botched it up so badly.

Yeah I finally got around to watching the final ep last night on Tivo, knowing who won already. What a disappointment the ending was as well. I, too, was just excited that Jason didn't win. He didn't seem as if he had nearly the creative chops that the others did. He may do fine directing 30 minutes shows for Nickelodean. I'm satisfied with Will's win.

Dang, the premise of the show could've been so great, especially since everyone loves a good movie. Maybe it was too many directors to showcase early. A lot of it was the production itself. Most of it was just "meh", but it had a chance to be really good! Oh well, at least a few of us enjoyed the shorts for the most part.

Only 3 weeks left to Survivor, so all will be right with the world again.
