Admittedly, some of us have different definitions of 'unwatchable' and 'guilty summertime pleasure' than most of the populace, but -- seldom is heard an encouraging word, and the first ones on the record ain't it.

But at least she liked the Australian landscape!

Uh-huh. You are closer to pain than I: networks usually don't cancel a show before the first episode airs. I may get off easy. Unless something radical happens in the next twenty-five or so, you're stuck.

Think it's going to be just the two of us for the next eight weeks?

No way, I'm here too -- besides, this review doesn't seem to comment on Outback Jack specifically so much as it voices the opinion of some jaded woman who appears to flat-out dislike the idea of "Bachelor"-style reality dating shows in general.

I think i'll be here this summer also.

My friend just spent a semester in australia and she says that Jack doesn't have a real "auzzie" accent. (Of course, I have met people from australia who have weaker accents than him). And I am sucked into since I've done a lot of backpacking, hiking, etc.

I'm thinking of making a drinking game for this show, so far i've got:

Everytime someone has to go off site for medical aid

Complains about cosmetics

Wears makeup at totally inopportune times

etc.

Well, I'm an Aussie and I don't have a broad (i.e. strong) accent, either.

He is definitely Australian, but methinks he might be well-off. Maybe not in millionnaire way that you have in US, but still well off. The one distinct difference in Australian accents is between rural (stronger) and city accents.

In addition, his mother is Italian, according to the TBS website, which might have had an impact on his accent -- although to be honest, his mother might be second or third-generation Australian-Italian, which would refute this theory right outta the water.

I got a kick out of the show myself. The girls are hysterical. I can definitely watch this dating show.

Vadim Dale (hate the name) is supposedly a foreman for a construction company. He's 28 and has been in an underwear ad.
And in my opinion is a total cutie.

I'll be here. I thoght the show was a hoot. Some of these girls were the perfect ones to be on the show and I think the show is going to get even more entertaining.

I thought the show was mindless and pointless. Where is the CASH??? There isn't any way the winner of this show is going to turn into a Teri Irwin.

I'm here as well. What can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment. Was it my imagination or was that mansion they went to in the beginning the same one used in FLOM?

Could be, it's from the same producer -- Bruce Nash (as in Marry My Dad.) And both FLOM3 and Outback Jack probably filmed about the same time, so why not, it was just a "dummy set" used for a few minutes.

I watched it and enjoyed it. But I think Outback Jack would not be as appealing if he cleaned up. He is the type that looks better scruffy.

I loved Outback Jack. I laughed the entire time. They picked a perfect set of women for the show. I'm surprised that more women didn't leave the first night. How funny..trying to stuff their formals into the jump suits.

Two episodes in and so far he's managed to eliminate one girl per show who I thought he should have kept around. How Mary is still in it is a complete mystery to me.

I can only think that he is dazzled by her blondeness and the challenge of her high maintenance! Or he's scared that she's gonna lose it when he sends her home...

I'm just glad he kept Natalie. She makes me laugh.
