Thanks for the articles.
I thought John's mom had advised her neighborhood and John's school not to vote for him so the family could go home and have some rest and peace of mind.
I guess they really wanted to stay at least through the next stage so he could show his prowess.
John's mom was right in cancelling her subscription to USA Today. The article is wrong. I think John has made AI more popular than ever before and had he stayed in the game, AI would have continued to stir drama among the viewing public.

You're very welcome.

I saw them on Ryan's show yesterday. A very classy kid, and wonderful parents. They have done a great job with him.

Aw, he doesn't have it so bad. "The Nice Boy Who Couldn't Sing" - sounds like a childrens book in the making .

You are definitely right.
i would like to be in John Stevens' postion being known as good kid with some talent.. and very good parents.

and likewhat the artcle said, it wasn't just abnout talent. Britney spears is marginally talented but succeeded. It is all about a lot of things, talent just one of them.

What a great kid! His parents should be very very proud of him and of themselves.

Just say no to trolls.

Thanks for sharing those articles. What a terrific human being his parents raised. He's already a success in my book.

Like the others said, thanks for sharing those with us. I do wish him all the best. And I'm glad the judges were so encouraging to him after the show.

ETA: I've been a professional talent scout for nearly 16 years, and I do have to take issue with the second article, though. It called John "marginally talented." I believe his talent was good, where, as been said many times, the music was appropriate. He was, however, unskilled. There's a big difference between the two. Singing offkey or weakly is a matter of skill, not talent. Talent is the charisma within the music and the musical side of the artist. I would like to have heard him on Big Band Night to see how he would have sounded, and then decide about the size of his talent when he was singing within his field of expertise.
