" AI9 Finally Results Show"

Please keep all discussion of how they manage to cram 15 seconds of content into a two hour show that is already scheduled to run a minimum of 7 minutes over.

I guess they aren't going to be having an Adam/Siobhan sreech off.

Wow, they have this live TV show thing down, don't they?

"RE: Kris Allen"

Wonder why they didn't have him sing "Live Like We're Dying" earlier in the season, it's the top 12th best idol single. It's outsold Kelly's "Breakaway" at 1.428 million as of this week.

Those sad, leftover BeeGees were lucky to have the new blood. I was a bit embarrassed for them......why do we only get old, washed-up 'legends' on the finale. It's painful and a bit sad.

"RE: Remaining Bee Gees"

It was such a thrill from me to see Robin and Barry there! They have been my 'idols' for over 40 years, and it's just a fact of life that we get older, and our hair turns, our faces wrinkle...just remember that, when, 30 years from now we see Janet Jackson trying to hop around and look good on stage! LOL.

Except she, like brother, will have had multiple plastics behind her. Unlike the Brothers Gibb!

Oh my effing god! Brett!

ETA - That was so "it" for me. No-one will be able to beat that for me. Okay, if Barry Manilow did a Bon Jovi thingy without looking too nerdy. Or if Michael Burgess walked out and sang something from Les Miz.

But really? Poke a fork in me, I'm done. In the best way possible.

I was a big Chicago fans, years ago.

Till I heard them live.

I have to chuckle that they pair up the AI finalist who can't sing in key and on pitch with the group that is known for blowing notes in their live concerts. LOL!

Did they put Chicago on because Lee's from Chicago?

Till I heard them live.

You had to hear them in the early/mid '70's when Terry played lead. More than a dozen of them on stage, they filled the hall. Truly spectacular to watch and listen to.

I don't think Blake was there, either. or Clay? Or Daughtry? There's agendas going on, even in the who-gets-to-be-on-the-show-after-their-season-is-up. That's why it does matter who wins the show--we see them the next season and then in group glimpses like tonight (Hi, Taylor!).

Yeah! I rewound it and saw them all, even Elliot, Chris Rich,,and BO! And MJ! Woo Hoo!

And is didn't mention it last night but Taylor got some love from the audience when he came out--a louder level than the other previous winners except Carrie and Kris.

I saw Constantine doing a characterization of Constantine. He was also on some goofy reality show because he is dating a rich socialite in NYC named Tinsley Mortimer.

It's amazing though how many I didn't recognize. I even had that problem with some of the women in the top 10 (or 12?) from this season.

I put a list of the performers who were in that number in the Finale highlights thread...I still need help with a couple of people.

Constantine--he's on Broadway doing "Rock Of Ages"; he was nommed for a Tony Award last season.

I noticed he stood with Ace and Diane Degarmo who are also on Broadway--they are both in "Hair".

I saw David. No Aiken, no Daughtry, etc.

ETA - Sorry, that wasn't David. It was Michael Johns.

were both at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO last night. Daughtry is on tour promoting Leave This Town (awesome) and David Cook was there at the concert as a spectator. So I understand why Daughtry was not at the reunion but not sure about David.

ETA: Cook just tweeted his congratulations to Lee and was sorry he couldn't be there with his fellow idols.

That's what fans want!

Why did it take 'em so long?

And nice to see the winners. Where's Cookie?

As a long time fan of Janet I am amazed that her register has lowered, she sounds just like Michael.

Although with "Nasty Boy" her bos is unbelievable. But her voice is still not right.

Thanks, Cahaya. I agree. The guy could own the stage and smile for the audience and not look pained to be up there.

I'll be interested to see how Lee develops on tour...and if he does a much better job of commanding the stage when he plays AI next year...at least twice. Once before the top 12 and once on the finale.

Lee's the one they wanted so Lee's the one they'll put promo support behind...discounted album at Walmart/itunes, pay for spins on the radio, etc.

If there's not good awareness of the album ...hard to get to even 500,000 these days.
