Didgeridoos and bagpipes, too.

So what interesting instruments should the Idols break out next week to try to stand out and prove they are quirky/interesting/unusual/unique/artistic?

Put together a gamelan orchestra as accompaniment. It consists of chimes, xylophone-like keyboards, gongs and drums. Many gamelan orchestras will have both a male and female vocalist and sometimes they will interchange between the stanzas. Beautiful music, sometimes almost hauntingly so.

Gamelan. There are some good free video/music clips out there too. I have the Rhythm in Bronze CD, perhaps one of the best-ever live gamelan recordings.

Prof. Chan had a funny line in his VFTW recap about Aaron doing anything to liven up his performances like having a trianle-ist ( maybe Ed Grimley could show up he does work for Fox now on FX's Damages) or doing Extreme yo yo tricks
