There are only
Caucasians on rock star. It is this blantant racist attitude that is attempting to make rock a separtate entity. Even back in the early days of rock, rock was taken in by all races but now it seems that rock and roll has shun away from its original roots to support segregation. I will not be watching this show because even as a white person I recognize and do not support racism. But the KKK show must go on.

I think they are talking about this season's cast?

Anywho I'm not sure any show really demonstrates how non-racist they are by including minority contestants. All too often to create drama the ones they pick always seem to fit the stereotype in ways that will create conflict rather than appearing to be one of the best contestants.

Meh. This year's cast, last year's cast. Whatever, I still say.

I really feel race is moot for this show. I can't see how the edit could stereotype anyone due to the nature of the show. And we're talking music here. It's about talent on this show from what I saw last year.

Look at rock bands. Look at the majority of people who constitute rock stars. Are there some non-whites? Yes. Then look at rap artists. Are there some whites? Again, yes. It's all music. And, as far as I can see, if you have talent in either genre you will make it regardless of race. I really don't think most musicians think in terms of race and I think if there was someone who was non-white that the band members and producers thought was the possible right fit, they'd cast the person.

Well I agree that on talent/performance based shows there is less room for stunt casting, but I do think some of the shows that are performance based still manage to do a fair amount of it.

Hopefully the less stunt/we need at least one of... casting they do the better the quality of the talent. Given how much everyone raved about the talent level last year, we can hope they kept to casting talent.

All too often I stare at about 1/2 the cast of something that should be performance/talent based and it is pretty obvious they are not on the show because they are the best talent. They are either there for drama or to please some demographic or other.

Storm's tattoo says "FLOWER". Flower was her band in San Francisco in the early 90s. I used to see them rock the clubs, and she was, as you would guess, amazing.

Your original graphic was legal as it was 63 pixels wide and only 54 pixels tall. I swapped the vertical and horizontal numbers in my head when I checked the properties of of your sig pic.

Please feel free to use the original animated fox sif pic any time that you wish to do so.

I was thinking the same thing when looking at the siggie, and I too was confused by the length vs width.

The other "little fox" siggie (post 63) is too high though, by 4 pixels.

I haven't had a chance to read all the replies but I think it would be racist to go out of their way to identify specific numbers for each race. I personally found it offensive that they are only interviewing African American women for Starr Jone's spot on the View.

I think whoever the powers to be are should be basing the decision based on talent. If for any reason the decision makers of who gets on have a problem with anyone not caucasion....then they're ignorant and are better off not dealing with. But I don't think that's the case.

I really really hope I didn't offend anyone here.

I thought about this again and I could see where maybe it could be percieved as racial by a numbers standpoint.......but it could easily be that there were no or few black candidates to choose from .
I couldn't imagine any of the Supernova guys wanting to restrict the candidates to one race. And if that were the case I'd be completely turned off and couldn't fathom wathcing the show. I really hope it's just a case of participants rather than choice.

If anyone is bothered by what race a singer is, one of the contestants on Rock Star is a Latina from Puerto Rico. She was in the bottom three this week. I forget her name, but she is the singer who admitted to never having listened to any song by any member of Supernova.

Good point. She actually corrected Gilby and said she never "owned" any of their music. This is in no way racist either, but I had an issue with her staying and Chris leaving.
