"Episode 4 Discussion"

Please keep discussion of tonight's episode in this thread so west coasters won't have it spoilerd (or at least as spoiled as you can get on this show, anyway, unless they want to be)

I'm wondering about that. Maybe the producers did ask the dad for permission to play the joke on the family. And dad is in on it. I don't think the rest of the Coy family knows anything though. Dad had that grin throughout the whole show when Steve and his acting family is there. I wonder if that grin is because he's so angry, or he's so amused of Steve's acting ability.

Hey I just ambled on over here from the "Real World/Road Rules" forum. I didn't even realize this forum existed (yeah, i'm new at this whole forum deal!) But, anyway, i was reading some posts about whether or not Randi's dad is in on this joke. I think her whole family is...and so they're acting right along with Steve and his "family" and her friend Anna knows too. That would be the perfect twist because obviously her family is going to play it up like they're not going to be a part of the wedding and Randi will think she's screwed but then of course they'll all decide to go and it will be all happy! And even if her family isn't in on it...they'll give her the money anyway just because of how much crap they've put her through!!

I can TOTALLY see myself doing something like this to my family! mwah ha ha

Sorry I'm late, He. I was watching Airline. So many reality shows, so little time to chat about them.

This was a great episode!

I'm loving Steve's sister, the Ally Sheedy chick. How these people can keep a straight face is beyond me. I still think Steve should get an Emmy nom.

Steve's panic attack was the best part of tonight's show. And Randi freaking out because his panic attack isn't *helping* her makes me continue to NOT feel sorry for her.

Wanna see my "moose?"

Steve's mom should have done the Moose too!

Now that would have been shocking and funny at the same time...

This episode was too funny. You're right, He- there is a lot of great material this week.

I loved Steve telling Randi's brothers all about his morning excrements, and stuffing his face with doughnut holes. LMAO.

Absolutely loving this show....Steve is doing a great job....even toning it down a bit today helped. It Kinda gave the Coy family a chance to see a guy that Randi might fall for. Then turning it around later...Can't wait for the summary, so I can laugh all over again.

Am I the only one that found the whole burping thing funny. The Coy family acted like they had never heard/seen anyone burp.....Come on....there are two teen age boys in this house...surely they had to burp at some point... may be they don't consider it proper, but this is just too much....I figure if someone farts in that house they get grounded for a month.

My husband grew up in a family with 3 sons and my family had 3 daughters. I have two sons, and I can tell you BOYS ARE DIFFERENT FROM GIRLS!! I don't know how you get them to not think burping and farting is funny, but I'd love to know!!

Word. Reminds me of my husband's uptight family. When he was growing up, if someone had to fart, they went upstairs. No. Farting. Allowed.

I thought the recovering alcoholic story (peeing in mother-in-laws bed) was hilarious! The kicker was that the mom-in-law thought it was her urine! Excellent writing!

I was most amused by the conversation between Randi and Steve on the stairs while on their way to tell Randi's family they are engaged. Steve playing it like Randi's love gives him some kind of Super Natural courage and fortitude is great. For him, Randi saying "I love you" is like Popeye eating Spinach! What made it even funnier was how Randi was struggling to say, "ya" instead of "you" to diminish the meaning, but Steve wouldn't snap out of it until she said "you"! That was just great!

This show gets better with every episode. Last night was great! The moose thing was gross, the urine mother-in-law story was gross too but all were funny.

I agree, I think Steve is a great actor and how he (and his 'fake' family) keeps a straight face is beyond me but every episode just keeps getting grosser and funnier than the previous one!

Yup. Only 2 episodes left. But Fox is coming out with other reality shows in March that look just as good if not better. I can't wait.

Forever Eden is starting on March 1st. I am thinking that will be in the Big Fat Fiance spot. That show is going to be great. It is alot like Paradise Hotel only it will last forever... a reality soap opera. Genuis! I know when Paradise Hotel ended I was not happy it was over... so... this one will last forever. Loving it!

The Midget one doesnt seem so great to me either. At least in My big fat Fiance, he is an actor but in the LIttle Groom, he really is a midget, and I feel they are making fun of little people. I guess i will have to see it to form a real opinion of it. Maybe it wont be as tasteless as I anticipate, but we are talking about FOX.
