"Viewers vow boycott over 'Millionaire'"

Looks like FOX is getting more press for NOT revealing the choice then they would have gotten for showing it. Question is will it hurt or help the ratings.

Oh puhleeze. That deserves an eye roll. "Fox LIED to us, just like Joe Millionaire is lying to those women!"

I know I would have been duped had I not read something here in this group that the finale was to be shown next week. Still, don't most of these "eenie meenie miney mo" shows typically show a recrap (thank you to whoever coined that!) episode before the final pick?

I mean, come on! We saw it last night with Trista's Male Harem.
(By the way, I'd take Bob or Jamie any day!) I think the people who felt "cheated" need to get a grip. LOL!

I've just come out of Lurkdom with a vengeance. I love reading the posts here.

I was hoping the show would give us a little more info, but I didn't expect much from it. The next day when I heard about the angry viewers writing to FOX, my husband made a comment about, "Getting a life." Sure, I want to know too, but I'm not THAT crazed about it. Will they still watch next week? You betcha!

Also a big welcome to BriarRosie (Lori). Glad you decided to come out of Lurkdom and join in the fun.

Howdy and welcome to SBlows, BriarRosie! We're mostly a gentle sort of peeps and we've all had our rabies shots (at least I think so).

Of course, all of us will be magically drawn to the TV set and fully tuned in to watch Joe Millionaire's finale -- it's like a car wreck that you just can't turn your eyes away from.

It's a fact of life in today's TV environment -- promote the hell out of the show, even if there's nothing at all there. Advertising bucks carry more clout than viewer opinions most of the time, especially during the ratings sweeps period.

I'm not sure how so many people got sucked into thinking that this week's show was the finale -- it's been known all along that there would be seven episodes and a schedule was posted on this board long ago for the summary writers to follow. I can see, though, why it would be easy for the casual observer to miss it with the logical progression of the final two becoming one. When I saw that there were going to be two episodes to determine the winner, I immediately thought that we'd be getting a lot of fluff filler (just didn't think it would be this excruciating, though).

Thank you Schnookie and everybody. I've been reading here for a long time, enjoying all the episode summaries of the various DAW shows.

I must confess that I did my own commentary to a friend during commercials over the past couple Survivors. (I noticed that much of what I've poked fun at ended up in many people's summaries here! I think that's why I enjoy the summaries so much!)

Back to Joe Millionaire....I will be watching next week, and if the 'big twist' ain't no great shakes, I'll just sigh, shrug, and wait for the other DAW shows to air that week.
