all righty then. I didn't say there were rules against it, I was asking *if* there were. The question the poster asked was "I wonder if they know about this" as if it were something she could get into trouble for.
Here's my rant about it....When I tried out, I thought I read that you couldn't be a professional singer. That means you get paid to sing. What I also heard, via Mario, is that only if you are a "featured" artist on whatever you sang, then you would not eligable.
Personally, I think it should be the first definaition. I want the competition to show talent who haven't had the opprotunities these "professional" singers had. It takes away the innocenses and heart of the competition. If they keep just picking people who have experience in the industry, then it takes away the "person from no where who can sing" aspect.
