"Tommy the dealer boy"

I've been acquainted with a few people who have dealt cards in casinos. None of them have meetings with the owners of the casino or the director of entertainment and can't just pop up to the executive offices on a whim. And I don't think they go straight from being dealers to hosts. Of course they may do things differently in Vegas than they do in Tunica, MS.

The "randon unscripted event of the week" to me is Tommy and his unfunny friend meeting Tony and Lloyd in the buffet and all the adventures that resulted. Casino employees don't eat in the buffet. When they take their breaks, there is a special area for them to get something to eat.

yeah i agree. but tommy gets what he gets b/c his daddy works for tim and tom, and his daddy is highly respected by virtually everyone working at the Nugget. so he's cruising the nepotism tides. atypical, his course of actions, but not completely unheard of.

I just returned from a visit to the Golden Nugget. Tommy was running around the restaurant schmoozing with everybody. He came up to our table and was asking us where we were from, etc. Wearing a suit, not his dealer outfit, so I could tell he had gotten his promotion. Evidently part of his new job duties is to work the room.

This was Monday evening. Later the program was showing on the big screen in the lounge so I watched it there.

I also saw Monique working on the floor, and briefly saw Tom (or was it Tim, I get them mixed up, anyway it was the thinner good looking one).

I can't believe little Tommy actually got his promotion. How old is that kid?? 22 or something?? What casino has casino hosts that young?

I think when I go to Vegas in November, I'm gonna take a special trip to the Nugget, just to tell that little brat what I think of him.
