"Iron Chef"

I know I'm not the only one who loves this show. You have to love the level of respect they treat cooking with. They make a cooking contest into a "battle". And they always have the token female actress who no matter how smart is dubbed over by an airhead. Anytime they laugh it's that stereotypical one where they cover their mouth and giggle. I also love the intro where the chairman takes a bite out of a bell pepper. A bell pepper, why that's just crazy.

That was a good one. I love how Kenichi-san (sp?) is so crazy. I forget which dish it was, but he went from being confident it would taste good, to think it may, to not knowing at all. But, I think that yogurt was a bit of a letdown. Just last night they had the shark's fin battle. They spent $30,000 on shark fin alone. Well, I guess yogurt does make some sense then.

IRON CHEF RULES! I am so glad to hear there are others that watch this show. Morimoto is the best! And Kaga and Cui-san (is that right???) and the pepper! We laugh everytime he bites that bell pepper and gives the camera that come hither look. WHO is he trying to seduce??? LOL

Who bites into bell peppers anyway, he eats it like it's a peach. Then there's that moment of hesitation right before he smiles. Kenichi has the funniest face, he has like a constant worried look on it. Morimoto is cool cause he makes the craziest dishes.

The opening cracks me up, when his shoe walks in and they start with the inspirational music as food, and silverware appear before his eyes. Then the dramatic bell pepper scene, followed by dozens of chefs lined up in a row. It's a really great show. And a question, why doesn't Iron Chef Italian, Kobe, rise with the other three?

I think he and Iron Chef French are not there every episode. I can't quite remember, but I think that they alternate. My favorite lines have to be "The yogurt battle is ova" and "Who's cuisine will reign supreme". Those are classic. My favorite specific one has the Japanese cooking old schoolers, The Otah Faction, sending a "hit man" to take on Morimoto-san.

I think they don't have Iron Chef Kobe, the Italian based one, rise with the others cos he is the youngest one in the bunch. I read that on one of the Iron Chef fan sites. Also, I think it is a riot that Kobe has his own mini orchestra and theme music. I have a crush on Morimoto-san, yum. He looks like Chow Yun Fat.

ok thanks for the info. Did you see the New York Battle, Morimoto killed that flay guy. Then Morimoto got all pissed cuz Flay was jumping up and down, that was hysterrical.

Mdock oh yeah, I mean I like Flay, he has a great cooking style, but up against Morimoto he got smoked! I was rooting for the Iron Chef. All my friends were going for Flay. It was a trip to watch Morimoto get all bent out of shape over Flay standing on the counter or whatever he did, talking about the cooking process being sacred. Ooops. Didja know there is an Iron Chef drinking game? I have played it several times. Just type it into a search engine, some fan made it up. It is guaranteed to leave you pretty sloshed at the end of the hour. I play it with Sapporo, the Japanese beer. Cheers, BLU

When the two Japanese cooks went to someones house on this show to cook them dinner. Now that was hilarious. I couldn't believe they would make a gourmet dinner with the main ingredient being Fish Sticks of all things. Funny. jAlso I heard they were going to have a Iron Chef in North America, two of the Japanese cooks against two cooks from the Food Channel. I won't miss that one/

thats great, i cant stand it when kaga says if my memory serves me right. Gonna have to try that one time if i can get enough people together who can stand Iron chef, but if I say drinking game that should change their minds.

It is alot of fun to play, but it can get difficult to keep track of all the things to watch for... like every time Ota says Fukui-san, sorry to interrupt but... He says that ALL the time! but Domo-Arigato for checking out that link, BLU

Hey, glad you enjoy the game. I'm one of the guys that created it. It definitely can be difficult to keep up with the drinks, particularly "Fukui-san!" and the cameramen rule, but it's all meant to be fun more than it is to destroy your liver, believe it or not. Any suggestions or comments, send 'em on over to me.
