"Aprentice 2 Filming Now"

I was in NYC for business this week and stumbled upon a camera crew at Trump Towers when I was walking up 5th Ave. They were filming young professionals each walking into the building with their suitcase. I figured it had to be App2.

I saw 12 of them, but when I passed the sound guy he had a little photo sheet with pictures of about 16 people. Does anyone know if there are going to be more this time around?

Let's see what I remember...

1. Male, tall, curly black hair. Only saw him from behind.

2. Female, African-American, short hair, tall, regal bearing, bright green jacket.

3. Female - missed her because the production crew was trying to get me out of the way.

4. Male - didn't see either....or else have forgotten what he looked like.

5. Female, blond, pink off-the-shoulder shirt and white flouncy mini. Could double as a barbi doll.

6. Female. Another blond with a big honking diamond engagement ring. Nice pant-suit.

7. Female. Light brown hair. Cute, but her suitcase was bigger than she was. Could get a job as a munchkin if the App2 gig doesn't work out.

8. Male. Troy look-a-like, but better looking.

9. Male. Steve Kerr\Ken-doll look-a-like.

10. Female. African-American. Funky chic with an awesome blond do happening. Loads of style and presence.

11. Male. Dark hair. Buttoned up a little tightly. Looked a little nervous.

12. Male. African-American. HOT! I was wondering why nobody had their shades on when Mr. Cool came it an took off his shades like he was Pierce Brosnan.

One guy came in with his guitar (forget which one). With the exception of Barbie and Miss Funk, everyone was in business suits. Mr. Hottie was in a suit but had his collared shirt open to reveal a t-shirt underneath.

Let the spoiling begin!

This morning on Regis and Kelly they were talking about the filming and showed a newspaper photo of an attractive woman that is one of the contestants. Then Regis said they are having 18 contestants this time. Who knows if Regis knows what he is talking about. But that is what he said.

BEWARE OF FALLING CEMENT: The streets of New York were crawling with wannabe Maxim models Wednesday as filming on the second season of The Apprentice reportedly got underway. According to the New York Post, which ran pics of two of the female contestants in today's edition, the next round will feature 18 mini-moguls instead of 16 — thus allowing NBC to stretch the show two extra weeks. (An Apprentice rep declined to comment.) Meanwhile, word has it the group will include four Harvard alums, three Wharton School of Finance grads, two self-made millionaires and one really crazy black woman.

IN RELATED NEWS...: Turns out the Oakland Raiders haven't hired first-season Apprentice star Nick Warnock after all. A rep for the team now says reports that Amy's ex was tapped to sell a block of luxury suites at the Oakland Coliseum were "premature." Warnock has yet to reply to my e-mail about this whole matter, which means he A) Thinks I'm a stalker, B) Has something to hide or C) Is jealous that TV Guide isn't giving away one of his balls for free. Speaking of which, today is the last day to enter our contest to win one of Kwame Jackson's autographed balls. Oh, stop your snickering. What, are we in first grade, people?

one really crazy black woman.

This really bothers me. Sounds like they intentionally cast an unstable sister so that they could make us look bad.

You know there are African Americans who try to work a decent job, get by, and do their best. The majority are like that, believe it or not. Unfortunately the TV world doesn't think they're entertaining enough.

Don't worry Frodo. If she's the one that I think she is, then she looks crazy in a fun way.

Given the ratings success of the first Apprentice, don't you think that the producers will be looking for another "Troy" or "Omarosa" type to try and duplicate past success? Also, as you said, most decent and well-intentioned people would not create controversy and exciting TV entertainment.

I agree subman. MB loves to duplicate whatever worked the first time. He will probably look for another Sam too.

Believe me all....this cast is completely different. That is all I can say. Don't look for copycats or comparisons. Interesting things will come to your TV. Great season ahead.

Thanks trigirl, I mentioned you in my writeup:

...now where are all those reports from our resident New Yorkers? Come on folks, you don't exactly have to fly to to some remote location to spoil this show... it's like The Amazing Race... spending over a month filming in the same city.

(applauds) Great timing and report! One spoiler in, about six hundred to go.

Y'know -- if we can just find out what time they film the contestant departures... If they always get a shot of the fired party leaving Trump Tower, and there's always cameras visible to record it, plus they always use the same comissioned taxi...

Actually, everyone films a departure before the show begins so that the press can't wait outside the hotel to tell who got fired.

that's also why there's a cut between exiting the taxi and the final thoughts within the cab.

I can easily believe that. The weather did look suspiciously identical in every departure shot for the first season. Feh...

There's still a way around this, though, but it would be mostly luck. The contestants have to come back to the suite to get the remainder of their luggage after they're fired. It's not impossible to catch one or more leaving with the real number of bags. Just unlikely.

Apparently a production staffer goes back to 'the loft' and gets the rest of their stuff.

The only way we're going to find out any spoilers will be if anyone spots the contestants around town and can tell us who is left at each task. Either that or we find a source who works at the hotel at which the bootees are sequestered. Either way, I think that MB is going to have to get a little trickier this time around. There are a lot more enquiring minds this time.

Which frankly, should be easy if they continue doing tasks that are anywhere near as "public" as some of last season's (the casino trips, art shows, charity auctions, charity golf outings, etc.) Giving their location and focus, if nothing else, I'm figuring NYC-based gossip sites like Gawker.com will probably have some good info on this season.

A lot more... personally I have extreme doubts that he can keep the secrecy of this show intact while filming in the media capital of the world -- every gossip columnist in NYC is probably angling for a scoop on this, its pretty much Burnett vs. The World... and if he pulls this off, then it just shows most of his security tactics for Survivor have flat-out been overkill

And here's the stupidest idea I've ever had on this site, which is really starting to say something.

What if he hired a diversionary team or three?

Get some actors -- shouldn't be too hard to find a few in Manhattan -- dress them in business suits, and have them race all over the city following scripted jobs. (Yes, just like the real contestants last season.) Let one go back to community theater every week. If the media (and us) are trying to track four groups of sixteen, it's going to get confusing very, very fast.

Drat. I was thinking of the contestants talking about having their ousted fellows return one last time to start shoveling. (If I recall it correctly, some people are still missing lingerie. Either packed too fast or packed while no one was looking.)

"Photo lineup"
Posted by SurvivorBlows on 05-14-04 at 02:09 PM
Trigirl... below's a link to some photos of some Apprentice applicants.

I've gotten a tip that one of the applicants mentioned might actually have gotten cast, take a look at the "lineup" and let me know if you can pick anyone out (I know which applicant it is that is rumorred to have been cast, but just don't want to influence your judgement )

Gee now I know why those tv victims have such a hard time picking the bad guys out of a line up or mug shot.

Sorry SB, but nobody looks that familiar to me.

I dunno. Maybe Burnett thought about how easy it would be to spoil the show just by following the contestents. Maybe the people that get fired are force to still participate (or at least show up) to hide the fact on who was fired. It shouldn't cost them that much more to reserve a floor in tower for the fired folk.

"RE: Aprentice 2 Filming Now"
Posted by fairyprincess on 05-18-04 at 01:11 PM
I agree with you. I think the fired contestants have to stay somewhere in the same hotel (towers, wherever) as the contestants who are still on the show. I also think the crew and MB is going to make it very very hard to tell who got fired. Maybe by going to more out of the way locations or having the fired contestants present in some way (off camera of course) to throw people off.

Maybe they will do some of the later challenges (jobs) at some of Trump's other locations like Atlantic City again or some golf resorts where there will be less people trying to sneak peeks.

Should be interesting, CANT WAIT for it to air.

Two Spoilers!

1. A friend of mine works for Mattel in NYC and he has informed me that they filmed in their office May 10-13. They are located 21st & 6th Ave. Their task was to make a boys toy for Mattel and the best team gets it. They came in both days at around 10am and left late both nights around 7-8pm. Winner of this task was not disclosed.

2. Just this past weekend, the "boys" were spotted selling gelatos at the Javits Center for $5. You couldn't have missed them selling $5 gelatos in suits and camera crew.

Enjoy!

These types of spoilers should have their own posting under a heading of "Film Crew Spotted. Spoiler." They can then be easier to analyze.

Now that I think about it, I think we should have a bashers and a spoilers forum similar to Survivor. Its pretty obvious there are going to be a lot of spoilers coming up (before the show even airs).

So if there's 18 contestants, are they initially dividing up as 9 "boys" vs. 9 "girls", or would they do 3 teams of 6 people like Survivor All Stars? erms, you seem to be saying that it's the men vs. the women again. Can you confirm?

"RE: Brunett's Old Tricks"
Posted by Captain Hook on 05-20-04 at 09:57 PM
Based on the evolution of Survivor, we can only expect the same modifications and improvements with The Apprentice. The first two seasons of Survivor were pretty much textbook but we'll all never forget the moment that Boran and Samburu (Samboohoo) were told to switch buffs. Throwing a twist into the game for the first time opened up an entirely new element to Survivor which has impacted the game and improved it for the better. Brunett realized that keeping the contestants and audience waiting and guessing for another twist or turn of events made for better television.

So when we start to spoil the upcoming season of The Apprentice we must take into consideration a variety of twists that could complicate the spoilers. Whether it be switching of corporations, ghost corporations, double elimination, three corporations...whatever the case may be, we must realize that this season will probably and most definitely be far different than the last. With that being said, let the spoiling continue...
