I don't think that the announcers make a game. I wish they'd go back to the two man booth though. More talk is not necessarily better. I wish that John Madden and Pat Summerall could do MNF. That would be amazing, they both bring so much to the game. Most announcers just talk to hear themselves. Also, the show went so far downhill cause they had horrible games on last year. As for Dennis Miller, he should just stay on HBO. he goes way over the average MNF fans head.

I agree somewhat, i think two man booth is good, but the three man booth on ESPN works pretty well. Also pat summerall gets on my nerves sometimes. They are however the best two on tv, and abc with dennis miller beats the crap out of anything cbs has (phil simms zzzzzzz).

I agree that CBS's announcers, not to mention studio team, are boring as hell. I think that three men get in the way too often. I don't know if you're a baseball fan, but compare a regular season two man booth, to the playoff's three men ones. You go from getting a few good stories and some insights and analysis, to talking heads who like to analyze every single play. Of course, in the playoffs, this is expected. But I like the emphasis to be on the games, if MNF has compelling matchups, they'll get ratings. Also, Al Michaels is no Howard Cosell, and Dan Fouts is no Dandy Don Meredith. Then again, I don't think we can expect people to top that combo.

In regard to baseball i think three people is horrible. In my opinion it just doesnt get any better than jon miller and joe morgan on sunday nights. With a three man team, in football and baseball, it seems that the two analyists disagree sometimes and that can get irritating, but if the right people are there i think it can be pretty good.

You're right, Jon Miller and Joe Morgan are a great team. But. come post-season, NBC has Joe Morgan with losers like Bob Costat and Bob Uecker in the boot. I think MNF has a problem because they're first few years had the greatest anouncers in their history. No one can fill those shoes. I like Dennis Miller, and I'll enjoy it, I jus don't think the average fan will. With the exception of Howard Cosell, Fox's James Brown, and Al Michaels, I can't stand the "TV personalities" involvement in the game. I like coaches and players giving the insight. I think my dream booth would be Al Michaels, Joe Montana, and Howie Long. Michaels is the best anchorman around and has a great voice. You need a quarterback in the booth, I think of the ones who are doing anouncing and analysis and I can only cringe. Boomer, Phil Simms, Terry Bradshaw, Dan Fouts, Sean Salisbury, and Joe Theisman. Sure, Montana is unproven, but he was a great QB, and the name alone is a big draw. Howie Long has proved himself on Fox as an intelligent and well-spoken analyst. And why not have a defensive player for once.

P.S. I know it seems like I forgot Chris Berman, but we need him for the studio show. He's never better than when commenting on highlight reels.

I dont know if I would want to take Howie Long out of the fox pregame show because i think they do a great job, those four, and I wouldnt wnat to upset the chemistry in there. Your right about Chris Berman he is great on highlights. I also think that a defensive player would be good in the botth, but I like the ex-coaches and QB's. I thought Steve Young did a good job befor ethe Super Bowl last year, I wouldnt mind giving him a shot. I just get this different feeling with Dennis Miller, he does know quite a bit about football, but I would like it better with out him..and Fouts needs a deeper voice he sounds like a girl.

I do love the Fox pregame, I'm just talking about a dream team. I would have suggested LT, but I heard him on Toughman Challenge, and he's not a good anouncer. You're right about Steve Young, he was good. I completely forgot him. Once again, he was in Montana's shadows. I think Steve Young is also more likely to wind up anouncing. As for Dennis Miller, he's funny, but it's not the right kind of humor to go with that team or audience. It doens't work as a whole. I think Dan Fouts is horrible.
