"Asking for phone numbers"

They had to do this the first episode and again today. I hate this challenge! And they are timed so the guys are desperate and have to move fast. I know some gave their numbers but most wouldn't and I don't blame them. Would you give your number to a total stranger you just met? Niels expressed great discomfor doing this and once again Jeeny Lee was upset with him.

They should come up with better social challenges for the guys.

I completely agree. Nowadays, no one wants to give a complete stranger their phone number especially when they are not in a situation where it's to be expected. The running around just makes the guys look desperate and slightly creepy. Honestly, they should make the guys go to a club because at least then it wouldn't seem so suspicious because people frequently exchange numbers in that type of setting.

I wonder if Niels felt disgusted because he knew he wasn't going to call any of the woman? I guess that's rather reasonable because I wouldn't want to ask for phone numbers if I had no interest or intention of calling that person and getting to know them. Jenny Lee has not cut Niels any slack since the whole Nate vote, which is ridiculous considering the fact that Nate is still there!!! She needs to get over it and work with her partner instead of against him. Neither one will learn from each other if there's tension in the way. It's funny though how the beauties screw around and mess up yet expect the "geeks" to be all supportive and baby them yet when a "geek" flounders they make insults.

Honestly, what is with Nate and Jenny Lee? I simply don't get it. On Niels' blog he stated that if anything the personalities were understated, which I took as what we see is how they all were but underplayed due to editing. If that's the case, Jenny Lee is a bigger yucky than what we are seeing so why doesn't Nate see this?

Sad to see Mario and Nadia go. I think they worked together the best. They were clearly listening and learning together and both put in equal amount of effort.

Yes, enough with the phone number task. They already did that this season. Plus maybe they should have called all the numbers before they picked a winner. I wonder how many of those numbers the guys collected were the women's real numbers. I know I would not give my real number to some strange guy that approached me in that way.

Maybe instead they should have the guys go to a club & approach women and ask them to dance. At least it would be different. They sent the women last season into a club. The women were all dressed up to hide their beauty and they had to get guys to buy them a drink without using their good looks. I enjoyed watching the girls get refused. In fact I wish they would have done that to the beauties this year. I really don't like the females that are left. They need to find out that they are not all that.

I was sad that Mario and Nadia left lastnight. Now I have nobody left that I really like. I dislike CeeCee so much.

Exactly! The phone number type of "challenge" really just sets them up for rejection when they need some self esteem building. Between that and the stupid dog thing, this was not one of my favorite episodes!

Agreed. :/
It was depressing to watch. This is a show that generally makes me feel good, but the phone number challenges were depressing. Especially considering that in such a challenge the good looking guys DO have an advantage, and isn't this show supposed to be promoting the importance of personality and inner beauty over outward appearance? When you're in a race to get the most phone numbers, it IS about first impressions and superficiality.

Also, I do realize that because of weight, Mario may not have the superficial advantage of, say, Nate, and yet he came in second-- I still say appearance is a factor in these challenges, however.

I think Niels is a great guy, and it's hard to watch him feel worse about himself after one of these challenges-- not to mention the beating he takes from Jenny.
