By popular request is.......

Slippery Nipple!

and there you have it.

Snack of the night is Maroonclownsmon's Baked Beans with country fried steak.

Mmmmm sounds good.

(Is country fried different from chicken-fried steak? I had to try to explain Cracker Barrel's Chicken Fried Chicken to someone that had never been).

"RE: Drink of the night......"
Posted by whimsey on 04-02-08 at 08:17 PM
Yup, same thing. Breading and such.

But then, any fried steak could be considered country.

I knew there were Dolly songs that required way more range than these idols usually have.

This? was it.

"RE: Group Sing"

They should have sung Islands in the Stream, with the boy/girl parts. Not much range required.

Dr. Phil's wife Robin, in the audience?

I predict she will tell Phil to have Michael on the Dt. Phil show ;) .

Worst opening song ever, IMO. Only David C sounded good.

They had to make it the group sing song?

That was awkward. The sound was all off and the dancing (if you'd call it that) was horrific. Did a loaded Paula choreograph it???

David A doesn't look like he knows what he's talking about.

He doesn't even look like he knows who Dolly Parton is!!

And he looked like he threw up a little bit right before he sat down.

It's the Simon pimpage portion of the show! They might as well call it spotlight on the judges or something like that. But a Simon question is guaranteed.

"You've got Questions"
Posted by Snidget on 04-02-08 at 08:21 PM
Haley 13 for Syesha, what do you miss.
Hanging out with friends and family.

Robert for David Cook (age 13)
What other talent would you succeed with.
David says he's a slob so he'd like to be more organized.

Bill 26 from LA
For Randy. Is there someone you haven't worked with before.
He'd like to do a song with who does American Idol. Ryan pushes and he replies it would be a boy or a girl.

Kyle Michel or David Cook, what song would you do on the tour.
Islands in the Stream, really they are not thinking about that.

Mary 52 for Simon.
Why do you feel you need to apologize after giving a negative critique.
He likes her and says he won't apologize again.

David Cook out on stage.
Discussing the hospital trip. Says it was blown out of proportion, he says he just has blood pressure issues and it spiked.

David is safe.

Ramiele up next. Looking scared. She says it was difficult to connect with country music. She was excited she walked on stage while she sang.

She is the first one in our bottom three.

Kristy Lee Cook.

She brought a note for her seat. She thinks she is in the bottom three. She'd rather be bottom three rather than not there at all. She doesn't want to hear what Simon said.

She is right, she is in the bottom three.

Paula what happened with these two. Paula thought they each had a good night. It comes to if they connect with the audience.

Past Idols that call Nashville Home.

Bucky Covington. Recorded an album. 2 singles out now.

Phil Stacey. Recorded an album due out April 29th.

Bo Bice. Had intestinal surgery. 60 days in a hospital bed with that. Took a year off. Built a recording studio and started a record label. Recorded an album that got back to his roots. He's a Dad now.

Syesha out on stage. She can't seem to answer if it was daunting to sing that song. She is safe.

Brooke and Jason come out together.

Brook were you pleased when you watched it back, she hasn't seen it. She enjoyed the performance and she begs him to say sorry for the comment about the violin guy. He replies sorry several times.

Short talk with Jason.

Brook is in the bottom three, Jason is safe.

"RE: Results 3.0"

They are roommates. Ramiele is dwarfed.

Simon thinks it is the right bottom three. Simon says he was only trying to help with the clothes he says to Carly because she is cute.

Randy says it is about singing, not fashion.

We find out, after the break (probably way after the break, it is early, yet)

The fan blows ever so slowly across the room.

The brocade chaise beckons . . . Jason nervously takes a seat.

MC enters with two glasses of Iced Lemonade.

MC - Been travelling far?

Jason - sorta

MC - Need a bit of a rest? If you'd like a shower there's towels in the cupboard next to the restroom. Just leave your clothes outside the door and I'll put them in the wringer washer for you.

"RE: Results 3.0"

Jason - Thta's fine ma/am.

MC - It's a bit hot in here. Care to go sit on the swing on the stoop?

Jason - Um, okay. I really need to get going. . .

MC - But it's getting late. You can stay on the couch in the front room. I'll bring you some blankets. Just let me now when you need to be awake and I'll set the *ahem* alarm

Okay.

I am glad that Idol is doing something good with its astronomical popularity and pull with sponsors and the public. I'm glad that some part of this neon crapfest is turning into actual help for people who need it.

However, I don't like this blatant heartstring tugging. I feel violated and I resent it.

It's just that I can not emotionally handle kids suffering. Can't. I want to take those sisters home and hug them and wrap them up in blankets and keep them safe. Damn you, Idol.

OK, suppose a man is doing a walk-a-thon. Sure, it's a nice, charitable action that seems admirable, however, there are a few mitigating circumstances

A) He has a crapload of money, none of which he donates
B) His contibution is giving his time to an activity he does normally and using other people's money for his charitable donation
C) He has been bragging about this for a month or so.
D) He is actually getting paid for this walk-a-thon personally from other people.

Is this really that great? Yikes.

"RE: America Gives Back Pimpage"

Is this it? I tried putting it in AI terms.

A) He has a crapload of money, none of which he donates

AI makes a crapload of money and we don't know what, if any, they are donating while asking others to donate.

B) His contibution is giving his time to an activity he does normally and using other people's money for his charitable donation

AI is doing what they usually do, which is have a show and sell advertising, but gets the sponsors and viewers to donate.

C) He has been bragging about this for a month or so.

AI has been promoting its good works from last year over the past month or so.

D) He is actually getting paid for this walk-a-thon personally from other people.

AI execs and judges, etc. get paid to conduct the show that is encouraging us to donate.

That's exactly what I am thinking he was getting at. Thanks, zazzy.

Sorry, boner, I just now saw this. Zazzy said it better anyway.

eta: The reason I still think it is absolutely a great thing is that these people are raising awareness and getting people to donate a ton of money that otherwise wouldn't be donated. I commend them for it and I will continue to do so. Thank you, American Idol.

"RE: America Gives Back Pimpage"
Posted by Fishercat on 04-03-08 at 08:06 PM
That's what I was getting at.

I have no problem with the donations, those are good, but I'm not praising AI for it. They're doing nothing outside of turning the results show into an extended results show. I praise the viewers profusely for donating and the celebrities for taking time out of their schedules to help, but AI is just doing it because they're making money off of it.

Bottom three center stage.

Randy, who do you think is out. Ramiele.
Cowell, it is not going to be Brooke. So it will be right or left.

Brooke, this is your first time in the bottom three, and you are emotional. Between the show, the Ethiopia and Dolly singing it has been really emotional.

Sends Brooke to safety.

Ramiele or Kristy.

Kristy is safe for another week.

Ramiele is going home. Family looks shocked.
