"A GENUINE MOMENT OF ROMANCE??? OH MY GOD!!! LOL :)"

After the first episode, I had my doubts about whether or not this would even happen with any of the Joes, but ...

Larissa and Tony really hit it off tonight!

I thought ...wow ... what a great date this must have been ... They both love painting and now they're painting one another's portraits ... looking deeply at one another every few seconds with all of the eye contact and all of the side glances.

Talk about connecting!

And then the kiss at the end of the date!

Is this a connection strong enough to survive the coming of the hunks?

What do all of you think?

I really enjoyed seeing them hit it off as well. What I loved most was that she was the one who asked for the kiss! I almost fell of the couch! And I give her many props for not even flinching or recoiling when David Dorksal leaned in for a kiss. But what was up with the way she ended her date with Tony? She just went off to bed and left him downstairs in her house? Who does that? Why didn't she say she needed to go to sleep and walk him to the door? I thought that was very weird. Maybe they didn't hit it off as well as it appeared and she needed to make a quick getaway or something?

Yeah I noticed that too! She asked for the kiss! That really impressed me!

I thought it was cool that she went to sleep instead of showing him to the door. How many girls trust a guy enough to let himself out instead of showing him to the door themselves?

On the other hand, it might have been nice if they had gone upstairs together, but I think it might be a bit too early for that.

I know I'm cynical by nature, but I think when she asked for a kiss, she didn't mean an all-out-tongue-down-my-throat-kiss. She wanted a quick little kiss. Once he started, she felt uncomfortable pulling away because, after all, she did ASK for it.

That's why I think she ended the date so abruptly.

If you have a tape of the episode ... watch it again!

First of all ... it wasn't just one kiss ... there were three! They're weren't pecks and they weren't all out tongue kisses either. They were warm, slow, and lasted quite a long time.

And both of them said afterward to each other and to the cameras that they enjoyed them very much, as well as the whole date.

She asked for the kiss because she wanted it. Plain and simple. And she wanted the next two kisses too. It was all there.

The date didn't really end abruptly, it was just time to go after three long kisses.

I loved the whole thing!

That's ok .... I know a lot of people think it's cool to be cynical on boards like these, so I won't spoil your little fun.

I just think I'm right about Larissa and Tony. We'll see.

You've got to be kiddin' me, Howard Dean/John! It was hard enough to watch the first time! And then you have to go and describe it as warm and slow (apt description...so much so I was forced to relive the horror of it all in my mind!) I thought his already-bugged-out eyes were going to pop right out of his alien head when it was over!

But I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I'm not the only one who enjoyed it. Larissa and Tony enjoyed it.

I don't think so, I think that when the "hunks" show up all the "joe's" will fade away.

Well, we'll see ... that was *SOME* kiss last night between Larissa and Tony, and the thing is ... they don't just connect on a physical level but also on a spiritual level with the painting.

That's so funny.....they connect on a spiritual level as well as a physical level.I DON'T THINK SO!!! Watch how fast Larissa connects on a physical and nonspiritual level with the male eye-candy that shows up!

Yeah right ........ We already saw how Larissa was really hard on the dude that bullied the other guy in the boxing ring. Think that won't happen again when the studs try to push around the Joes?

I don't like that they are bringing the Himbos in so early on this time. Last time she had more time to get to know the remaining Joes a little better (not that it did any good).

I hope the Joes don't just fade away when the "hunks" show up, but I fear you might be right, KScott.

Yeah I agree. Third week and the hunks show up! Way too soon ....

What do you think about Tony and Larissa? Do you think they have a strong enough bond to last?

Well Howard, they really seemed to hit it off, but my biggest thing is that without more time to get to know him better, she might likely be more easily distracted by the "hunks". I guess it all depends on how much she really liked Tony, how well he keeps her attention, and how important looks and image really are to her in the long run.

Yeah you're right. Time seems to be a big factor here. I'm rooting for him and Larissa, but with the hunks coming so soon ... well we'll see

I loved the part where they were painting each other's portraits.

Tony seems to have the best bod of all the Joes. I hope he smokes the hunks, who seem arrogant in the previews.

No way is she going to continue to be interested in any of the Joes when the new batch of meat arrives.

I'm sorry, but her kissing Tony made me want to puke! He's totally gross with his bald head, bug eyes, and no eyebrows! At the risk of seeming callous, he reminded me of one of those children who suffer from Progeria, the premature aging disease.

I'll bet his hairlessness and the fact that he was born with no sweatglands (shudder) is somehow connected.

I'm no artist. I can barely manage a stick drawing but I have an opinion on art and his portrait of her sucked and her art sucks, too.

Sounds like you know something...

I may be wrong. A poster commented elsewhere that Fox has intentionally reworked the show so that the average joe does get the girl. It doesn't seem possible to me, I must admit, because this assemblage of joes is worse than the first time around and this girl is more beautiful by far than the last girl. I realize it's not just about looks, but c'mon. Look at these guys. There has to be a physical attraction.

Yes, we will see. I know I'll be watching!

Interesting. NBC reworked the show? I hate it when producers and/or networks do that ... But it would be nice to see an Average Joe get the girl.

At first, it seemed even less possible this time because -- as you said -- the guys are even more nerdy than last time and the girl is much hotter. (Oh my goodness she is so hot!!!)

But Larissa -- hot as she is -- seems like the kind of girl who doesn't neccessarily fall for the macho type. Check out the "Larissa Meek Pinup" thread and the "How Bad Must Your Personality and Interview Skills Suck" thread for some of my comments on this.

Just look at what she did yesterday to the guy who was too aggresive in the boxing ring ....

So we will see..... All I can say is it sure looks like her and Tony are hitting it off, and there does seem to be a physical attraction between them.

As Larissa says in her profile interview on NBC's website, physical attraction or chemistry can also happen when an average guy grows on you.

I think I read somewhere that the AJs were chosen to have something in common with her -- a few are graphic artists. And the hunks were chosen to look good, but not have much in common.

And I think she'll be turned off by the hunks if they come across as arrogant.

I think her beauty is irrelevant. I think most women don't think they are as attractive as men see them. But most of the guys are kind of weird.

As for Tony, I think he's kind of attractive, if he would just lose the weird facial hair. And what's so bad about a guy who doesn't sweat?!?

Still, it could boil down to a lesser-of-evils choice: arrogant but attractive jerk vs goofy-looking but weird guy.

I think Tony is attractive, too. I think he would look so much better with hair on his head, though, and some definable eyebrows. A minor makeover would do him good.

He does seem the best one for her out of the whole bunch. What happened to his eyebrows?

The eyebrow thing doesn't seem to make much of a difference, at least not given the way Larissa is reacting.
