"CBS Poll--Red Herring?"

This week's CBS poll:

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor4/

Which Survivor did the Switch benefit the most?

Gina Crews
Rob Mariano
Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien

Now I can understand Gina and Kathy but why Rob? He certainly didn't benefit. His little alliance was broken up. Unless, he is "A new leader seeks to assume power at Rotu" and he succeeds.

Any thoughts?

While Survivor has a big strategy element to it, it should be kept in mind that it also has an adaptability element to it as well. These switches may screw over strategy (but screwing strong strategies is something MB has tried to do all along) but they favor adaptability (an actual survivalist strength). So, in general, switches favor those who adapt, screw over those who can't. As for the three in the CBS poll, all three tried to adapt to the new dynamic (whereas Sean and Sarah didn't seem to even try), so it is a valid question. Of the three listed, the one most screwed by it was Rob because MB screwed over his strong strategy, the other two (Gina and Kathy) benefitted by it. The only red herring aspect I find here is that Sean isn't on the list, as he definately was screwed (and didn't adapt well and so totally screwed himself in return) by the switch.
