Canada shows the world how to do a real survivor show.

Nuff said.

I think that is just excellent, bela, please post more info (any info, actually) and any links you know of, we're all anxious to find out more about this.

Did you actually watch this Leif? It was a great concept, but I found the show to be very slow and boring. Also, they didn't adhere at all to the period (making constant visits to modern farms, hospitals, funerals etc.) Although I'm glad they didn't allow any people or animals to die in the name of TV, I felt that the experimental aspect of the show really flopped.

Go Canada! (hee hee)

Actually I meant to be sarcastic. I did watch the show, every episode. Sunday night, the wife is at Bingo and voila....Pioneer Quest is on again.

Could you imagine what the American media would have done with the first couple who ended up leaving because of a charge of sexual abuse by the male half of the couple. It would have been a feeding frenzy.

The next couple comes along and they were so sickening it made me barf, almost. But I kept on watching, waiting for something exciting to happen. I wanted to see that fool get his teeth drilled with that old dentists drill with the foot pedal, now that would have been more exciting than Marathon Man.

And the next show is going to be a boat trip from Winnipeg to Churchill the way the fur traders did it. Might be worth a look. I worked in Northern Manitoba for a time so it might bring back some memories.

We still haven't had our round of golf or coffee, yet, SC. What is going on with that?

Ok - I'm glad you were being sarcastic (sarcasm just doesn't get through on message boards). And it's true - Canadian television tends to lack substance. I don't know if I'll bother watching the next one.

As far as golf goes, I don't think I'm good enough for you. I spend most of my time apologizing to people on the next fairway for hitting my ball too far to the side.

Coffee might be cool though. I'll have to see how my husband feels about me having coffee with a strange man that I met over the internet

I am not strange, I am normal (I think).

Oh Leif of course you are normal. But can you just hear the conversation with S-chick and her husband?

Um honey , I'm going to have coffee with a new friend. Oh really who? Oh just a Viking who is obsessed with Golf, you know from my website. Website?? Which website. Oh you know survivor Blows, with all the nice normal people, you remember, it's where the Evil Clown put me in his story and made me a nymphomaniac lesbian castaway. Oh that website, by all means go meet the Viking then.

hahahahahahah

I don't even want to think about the conversation I wouldn't have with my wife.

For the record, it would be kind of weird to see someone from the board, face to face, so to speak. (I was going to say-"in the flesh" but I don't think that would be appropriate). No harm in asking though, is there?

I am with you on the weird thing, but I am hoping to meet a few people from the board.

Actually you may run into to Chick someday, I'm sure she'll recognize you, how hard can it be to miss a Viking hauling around a Golf bag???

*fixes punctuation and sentance structure*
*runs away*

See? Those are the rules....it's perfectly fine to be close to someone on the internet but it's percieved as very weird to meet in person.

Since none of our good northerly neighbors ever bothered to give us more than their own yakyak about it, here's the "Pioneer Quest" site I found, seems like a pretty neat thing:
