Hey all,

VERYYYYYYY HUGE fan of both TAR and TAR2.....watched every episode of both and love it......but never got around to posting the first time around.

So, here it is, my first post.

The question I have, and it's a long time in the future, but:

Where is the final Pit Stop?

Yeah, we're only two eps in, but during TAR i read on numerous boards on where the final Pit Stop would be.....and may guessed correctly with Flushing Meadows Park and the Unisphere.

They have to end up in Nevada again, and I'm throwing out in front of a Las Vegas Casino that has a similar Unisphere object (I forget the name, was in Ocean's 11).

Where do you think it will be?

Who says they're even finishing in Nevada? The finish line could be anywhere in the US. When the race had first been announced, Tvgameshows.net said that they were starting in Nevada, and finishing in an "Undisclosed Location" in the US. But we all know how reliable taht site has been in the past... So yeah.

I was, I believe, the first on this board to suggest the Unisphere in Flushing Meadow as the finish line last time. (that was more exciting than the actual finish) There was a lot of fearful speculation that the World Trade Center would be involved, and of course the Statue of Liberty was suggested.

The advantage the Unisphere had was simple. CBS could control who was in the park, and thus limit the witnesses. The obviously don't want bystanders to see them filming the finish line, and even went so far as to film bogus finishes for the first race.

I do like the idea of finishing near a globe structure, and I think there's a reasonable chance they finish in the American West. But because of the need for secrecy, I think you can rule out a Nevada casino.

Since no one has yet mentioned the obvious, I'll do it.

I think the show will end in or near Los Angeles. There are several reasons for this:

1) There are hints that the show goes to Australia and/or New Zealand, and there are more flights from those places to LA than to any other U.S. destination.
2) Residents are more used to cameras and the need for keeping a secret.
3) City administrators are always friendly to the television industry, so it wouldn't be much of a problem to get the needed permits for anywhere.
4) Businesses are also more used to the camera's presence.
5) CBS and Viacom have any number of back lots and sound stages that they could easily cut off from prying eyes.

You might try Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon, near starting line, and 'quite' secluded...

After sleeping on my response, I realized out outlandish a casino sounds....and what part would a casino play in a race around the world....greed?

I think the idea of the Grand Canyon works best, but you can never rule out LA.......it is true about crowd control. But it just seems that/I feel the need to have the race start and end in the same place/city/area.........but, in the best interest of security, that may not be best.
