Good luck, Dave. Be young and good looking. be personable, outgoing, and friendly. Have a degree from well-known institution. Have a good working background that demonstrates strong business skills.

After that, though, just have some good luck. Initial interviews, sorting through LARGE numbers of people are hit or miss. Candiates will be eliminated very, very, quickly by assistants who not be the ones that make the final decisions. You really DO need good luck to survive, even if you do have all the aforementioned skills. Some will survive that do not have the aforementioned skills, too. Just luck.

BTW, who will the UK Apprentice be working for? Who is the UK equivalent of The Donald? Richard Branson?

Many thanks....

From the sound of the US interviewing process the UK one incredibly restrained....

No massive queues or group discussions/arguments....

The 1st interview was in a hotel called the St.Giles Hotel just off Tottenham Court Road in London.

I was given a time to turn up, 9.25 AM which I duly did, followed 'The Apprentice' signs to a foyer upstairs, asked to sign an 'Audition Release Form' allowing them to do whatever they like and preventing me from even thinking about doing anything that they don't like!

After that I was called for a brief interview, was waiting for about 5 minutes to be called, so no hanging around.

Having 'Passed' the brief interview I was invited to sign another form a 'Contributors Release Form' and asked to wait for a 'Screen test'..

I slipped off to the toilet and decided to have a quick cigarette outside before I came back.... On my return they were waiting for me to film!

I may have mucked up the screen test, as I wasn't given a 'Police check form', which was mentioned in a handout....

So I'm afraid this may be the end of the selection process for me, will get confirmation on July 13th...

As to who is BOSS it's a guy called Alan Sugar ... for details of who he is http://www.jeremyjosephs.com/alansugar.htm

Will let you know how I get on.

Cheers

Dave

I would have suggested some acting to make yourself stand out. So they give you maximum camera time (like Sam and Ormaorsa), unless you truly want to win. It's really about entertainment.

Oh well I tried .... Just got this Email ....

Dear Dave,

Thank you for applying to take part in 'The Apprentice'. Unfortunately
you have not got through to the next round of interviews.

We have been overwhelmed by the quantity and calibre of applicants, and
the selection process has been difficult. Please note that our decision
is final and we are unable to discuss individual applications.

If you attended your interview, we hope that you enjoyed the day and
offer you our best wishes for the future.

Yours,

The Apprentice Team

So that's final ... many thanks for your comments ... and if any one would like any books, light sticks or gas masks then have a look at my sites ....

Cheers

Huh oh, didn't pass the screen test Dave? Ummm, must not have a photogenic profile, as if that has anything to do with your common sense and business skills. But this is Show Business, of course, and any real business matters are secondary.

Thanks for the updates on the process. The show is still unknown yet in the U.K., which probably accounts for the calm auditions...

Yeah sorry Dave,
That's what I was told too. "This is show business, and the business part is just the incintive - it's television, so be be prepared to perform for the cameras!"

I was animated and ready for them when I went in, so I still don't know... waiting on the sixth to find out.
