"Down to the final 2"

Well Maria is gone. She certainly cried and cried.

I still think Jack feels the need to be the strong protector. He wants to take care of Natalie and protect Marissa from the mean girls who talk bad about her. He kept sending away the girls that didn't need him.

Interesting that mom thinks Marissa would be the best match for him. And that Natalie brings out the "opposites attract" in him.

I was just talking about that protector aspect with MTW. I think Jack & Natalie have your basic Clark Kent/Lois Lane relationship. Somebody save her. Preferably him.

Then again, their fictional counterparts have been together for what, about seventy years? If it works...

I have absolutely no idea what Lori was thinking about Marissa being the best match of the three for Jack. Maybe she's just seen him working with crocs for too long.

Jack does NOT want a partner or a spouse to share his life with. He wants a little girl or a daughter to take care of.

I don't see it that way at all! I think you need to rethink your opinion.

Notice too that Marissa's mom said Marissa was independant and a bunch of other things that seemed (to me anyway) the *opposite* of what Jack said he wanted in a mate.

I agree that it seems like Jack wants someone he can take care of rather than being in an equal relationship, but to each their own. If that's his thing to take care of someone and treat them like a princess, so be it!

That being said, I really hope he picks Natalie and not Marissa. Natalie has really grown on me. I know she is not the sharpest tool in the shed but she is really sweet and has some really funny one liners! Here's to hoping those two end up together.

p.s. Is it a two hour finale next week or just a regular one hour episode?

Regular one-hour episode. Give OJ's producers credit: if nothing else, they've kept the padding to a minimum. (Unlike, say, LCS2, which is one 'Mohr out' from officially turning into American Idol.) We'll know what Jack's choice is before the Race goes on the air, or at least before Mohr gets around to introducing the second act.

Wonder if he chose to eliminate Maria now so his final decision would be much easier to make. He's clearly smitten with Natalie, and suspicious of Marissa.....

I thought for sure Mum would have seen how much Marissa is ostracized and wondered why. If she couldn't pick up on the raised eyebrows and rolling eyes from Natalie and Maria, then Mum is an IDIOT at reading body language. And then when Baby Boy says he doesn't trust Marissa, and Mum STILL likes her?! That's not normal.

Marissa's biggest fault is that she doesn't put herself first?! Oh PLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAASE! I thought Mum was reading that for what it was worth, but I guess not.

Given the estate surroundings, I'd guess there's LOTS of money there. So maybe Mum wants some arm candy for Baby Boy?

I was very disappointed in her.

ETA - I have to wonder if Baby Boy chose Marissa out of respect for Mummy's opinion.

amused by the fact that when Jack was talking to Maria he said something like "I need to know that you are monogamous to me". I thought this was pretty funny coming from a guy who has been “dating’ a bunch of girls at once and every week does NOT want to give ANY of them up.

Oh yes. Jack is definitely into the harem concept. He gets to play around, but expects the "girls" to cleave only unto him.

Ya gotta laugh at that one. The double standard is still live and kicking.

yeah, and silly her, didn't give an answer that assured him enough.

I guess she couldn't tell that her "forwardness" was not what he wanted.

I think Maria knew her time was about up, and she was desperate to stay in the running.

However, just as a woman isn't interested in a desperate, needy guy, I doubt Jack is that interested in a desperate, needy woman. He wants someone to watch over, sure, but that doesn't mean he wants a clinger.

I haven't been watching the show too closely but from what I remember from Crocodile Dundee, after roughing it in the widerness, the sophisticated woman brought Dundee to live in NY.

Are we going to see 16 Outback Jacks living in New York with the runner up in a few months???

Probably not. This one's gonna be kind of hard to sequel. What I'd like to see is a group of metrosexuals being hauled around the Outback by a super-capable woman, but...

Imagine the male equivalent to Natalie.
