"The Apprentice #3 Episode #5 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

Please keep all information about this episode on this thread until those in the rest of the country have a chance to see Donald vent his spleen. And if we get one-twentieth of the activity the other MB series of the night is currently seeing, NBC will faint from the shock. Thank you.

Have to switch mindset. Have to switch mindset. Ignore whiny people stuck on island. Focus on whiny people stuck in Trump Tower....

Michael says he is just like Donald Trump except for about 2 billion dollars. What a joke.

But Michael thinks him and Trump date the same women... that is hilarious.

Everyone cheering when Tana and Audrey return to the suite.

Awful lot of *bleeps* in Audrey's rant. Manga on the balcony drinking. Michael: "DT gave me the wink, he likes me".

Sunrise over Manhattan. Angie answers the phone. Meet at Trump World Tower 8:30 am.

Jill Kramer filling in for Carolyn today. DT: "very disappointed last week, expect big things".

Task: 28' Airstream trailers, must redesign each trailer to their specifications. Teams given $5,000 to create a service business (any service business0. Team who makes most revenue wins.

Trump's giving the teams 5K to create a service business in an Airstream trailer. Team generating most revenue wins.

Magna starting a massage business. Bren is PM.

"Magna"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:11 PM
Bren is PM. Having difficulty coming up with idea. Mobile massage? Most of team agrees. Stephanie disagrees (who is surprised). Hired a massage therapist off a web site (?). Michael and Erin responsible for location and marketing. Every prospective name out of Michael's mouth is "...-a-go-go". LOL (This guy's a real p-i-g)

"RE: Magna"
Posted by Estee on 02-17-05 at 09:13 PM
So if anyone's keeping track, that's two horrible softcore-based ideas in a row for Magna. Ye gawds. It's not uncommon for a corporation to get a professional massuase in one day a week and give them a room to themselves, but just taking people off the street...

"RE: The Apprentice #3 Episode #5 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by aliciabbrown on 02-17-05 at 09:12 PM
Michael wants to call Magna's business "Massage a go go." Sounds like a strip club!

Net Worth just LOVES their trailer!

"Net Worth"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:16 PM
NW goes to see their trailer. Lunchtime speed dating. Mobile pedicures. Open casting calls. Angie pushing casting call idea. Cold calling casting agents but running against opposition.

"RE: Net Worth"
Posted by ARnutz on 02-17-05 at 09:24 PM
What kind of revenue does holding open casting calls bring in? I am clueless on this one. Anybody know?

"RE: Net Worth"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:26 PM
Haven't a clue. Can they charge an 'admission fee'? Can unemployed actors afford that?

"RE: Net Worth"
Posted by Loree on 02-17-05 at 09:29 PM
They are trying to charge $25 and most actors are telling them that they were told never to pay for an audition.

I think both ideas are creepy. I would not enter a strange trailer on the street.

"RE: Net Worth"
Posted by smokedog on 02-18-05 at 00:23 AM

I think the multitude of cameras around gave people some security. So if they were abducted or something, at least it would be on tape

LAST EDITED ON 02-17-05 AT 09:19 PM (EST)

Magna meets with Airstream technicians and sees the trailer. Massage therapist with them. Suggests hand massages also. Erin and Michael back at the suite talking to team about the name. Michael throws his usual hissy fit because the team didn't like the name he proposed.

Back at Airstream, Bren asks Michael and Erin to bring dinner back to the rest of the team. Michael and Erin can't do their copying and go to Queens too, not enough time.

"The are both stupid"
Posted by DontGetMeStarted on 02-18-05 at 12:45 PM
hello, use Drop off service and Delivery for the copies & the food... they are in NYC gor goodnes sakes! My sister had a bagel and cuppa coffee delivered every moring while she was in collage there. You can get anything delivered at anytime in NYC. Then they could have been with the team helping them out.

I know it's a late comment but I was yelling this at the tv last night and it's pent up!

These people on Magna are really giving educated folks, like myself, a bad name! Can't they work together on anything? Erin whines about Michael, Stephanie whines about Bren, sheesh! Can't they work together for a win?

"Net Worth"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:22 PM
NW finds a casting director after offering $1k. Working on decorating their trailer.

Meanwhile Michael, Erin and Stephanie are p!ssed they have to drive all the way to Queens to deliver dinner. Bren: why are you complaining now in front of all the team instead of when I called? Stephanie: you could have had it delivered. Bren: why didn't you do that from Manhattan? Stop complaining.

Seems to me that she has had a lot of narration time all along.

"RE: Is it just me"
Posted by Estee on 02-17-05 at 09:40 PM
More straight confessionals than narration to me, but it's a really fine line. It just felt like up until now, no one's really been the voice of Magna in the same way that John and Audrey speak for Networth.

Oh, and Tara talks! Finally!

"Mobile Casting Call"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:27 PM
Tana likes the location, lots of traffic. Greets casting call. Tana instructs team to start yelling. Cost is $25 to meet with casting director. No one wants to partake. "They went to that workshop that said don't you ever pay that $25"

"RE: The Apprentice #3 Episode #5 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by aliciabbrown on 02-17-05 at 09:28 PM
NW charging $25 for interview with casting director. Problem is they all went to the workshop that said never pay to interview.

"Magna"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:29 PM
Meanwhile, Magna appears busy. Michael is passing out flyers but complaining. He's complaining to George: "isn't it creepy to take a massage from a guy passing out flyers"? George says sure, why not, massages are nice.

"Bad idea...."
Posted by AyaK on 02-17-05 at 09:38 PM
...complaining to George during a task that your team narrowly loses.

I KNEW I should have picked Michael to go this week, but I didn't want to look like I was copying Estee after she had the correct pick last week. Oh well, we'll see if he vanishes soon....

"Tasks"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:30 PM

"Boardroom"

LAST EDITED ON 02-17-05 AT 09:36 PM (EST)

Magna: massage business, total of $918.50. Net Worth: ccasting call, total of $991. George: 'sometimes risks pay off'.

Reward: Mikimoto (pearls!), given $20,000 for the team to spend. Yikes! (They aren't cheap, folks.)

Oh yea, DT reminds Tana she has exemption next week.

Net Worth shopping. I'm so gellus. They have Craig try on the official pearl tiara. Craig, Chris & John buy for GF's. Tana buys cufflinks for her DH. Everyone else buys bling for themselves (not that I blame them).

"RE: Boardroom"
Posted by ARnutz on 02-17-05 at 09:38 PM
Did you see Erin's face when they announced that reward? Then Bren & Michael were upset at losing this too.

"RE: Boardroom"

I loved the look on their faces when they realized they missed the pearl shopping.

"Too bad..."

Oh, and they'd both look SOOO nice in pearls, don't you think? Say, a Barbara Bush-style strand for Bren, and a simple string for Michael?

"RE: Too bad..."

LMAO!

Bren would have to lose the bow-tie to show off his pearls, LOL!

"Taking half of it back."
Posted by Estee on 02-17-05 at 09:38 PM
The massage trailer turned out a lot better than Michael must have wanted it to be. Offering manicure services and the like helped.

I did not think the casting director idea was going to work. Did anyone?

"RE: Taking half of it back."
Posted by aliciabbrown on 02-17-05 at 09:43 PM
I sure didn't. Bren admits that their idea wasn't as creative as NW. Magna still bummed because they're getting their butts kicked (again) by HS grads.

"Nope"
Posted by AyaK on 02-17-05 at 09:44 PM
>I did not think the casting director idea was going to
>work. Did anyone?

Not for a second.

And I thought the "mobile massage" would work, and Magna would win easily.

"RE: Nope"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:49 PM
I missed it, but wasn't Magna charging $10 per massage and Net Worth $25 per casting meeting? That may have made the difference. Shades of QVC task. Lower volume, yet higher return.

"RE: Nope"
Posted by Estee on 02-17-05 at 09:50 PM
I got trapped into thinking it was going to be ultra-sleaze (Manhattan fly-by-night massage parlors: legendary. And not in a good way), but it actually turned into a relatively classy operation. Marketing was part of the problem.

As for why Networth won -- d'you think the camera operators, sound people, and editors were all lining up for their sessions? How about Network members shelling out $25 on account, just in case?

"RE: The Apprentice #3 Episode #5 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

Those three are going to the board room.

"Magna Boardroom"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:45 PM
Michael and Stephanie talk about who's going in. Michael thinks he's the scapegoat for everyone and he's being singled out. Michael thinks Stephanie has worst attitude. Bren is going to take someone else down, not him.

DT: What happened? Bren: had a great location, marketing was bad. DT: How do you feel being beaten by high school graduates?
Donald asks if Bren would be better if given 2 members of Net worth. Who would you get rid of - Michael and Stephanie.

Bren and Michael begin to argue. Bren says Stephanie because she has a negative attitude, brings down team. Step thinks Bren is an 'okay' leader. Alex thinks Bren great leader. Agrees Stephanie negative.

Kendra doesn't think Michael did well. Jill (substituting for Carolyn) thinks marketing weak. Erin: Michael doesn't have the 'fire in the belly'.

Bren decides to bring Stephanie and Michael back to boardroom

"RE: Magna Boardroom"
Posted by ARnutz on 02-17-05 at 09:50 PM
It doesn't look good for any of them, but Michael has messed up the most for several episodes...

I think it could be him... let's see...

Trump just chastised Mike for kissing Bren's rear end

"RE: The Apprentice #3 Episode #5 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by aliciabbrown on 02-17-05 at 09:53 PM
Now Trump chastises Michael for interrupting when Bren is trashing Steph.

Michael, you're fired.

"Final Boardroom"
Posted by kathliam on 02-17-05 at 09:54 PM
George thinks Stephanie too negative. Jill says Michael didn't get marketing but Stephanie too critical.

Stephanie likes both teammates, unfortunately her comments taken personally. Michael thinks he works hard.

Bren would fire Stephanie. She works much harder than Michael but too negative. Michael pipes in, and DT calls him on opening his mouth while Bren is ragging on Stephanie. DT thinks Michael should be fired.

DT: Michael, you've been lazy, you're trying to stop them from fighting when Bren wants to fire Stephanie. Michael, you're fired.

Tee-hee, Michael leaves Donald his business card as he leaves the suite.

George is okay with DT's decision. Donald just wanted to make sure.
