OKay I wasnt in the greatest mood 2day but I was hoping that 2nite's episode would cheer me up and unfortunately It didn't ...I still like the girls ...I was hoping that they would click better with the family ...it just seems so wierd and awkward...as the show went off... I felt nothing got accomplished their 1st job was a complete disaster...for a 1st job the dairy farm was kinda extreme..and also where did they sneak off too ???

I agree with all the commercials it seems so short and nothing seems to get going. I laughed pretty hard at the audacity of just walking off and getting in the guys hot tub and laying on his couch!! I think the dairy guy was being a little hard on them but honestly, the dairy work is mild compared to what they could of been doing (and what they will be doing from what I have seen of previews!)
About where they run off to? I have no idea, I am 40 miles East of Altus and I have lived in Ozark (about 5 miles away and where the Sonic scenes and airport scenes were shot) and everything is barred up and closed at midnight around there!! Even the clubs!

I thought the farmer was a little harsh (I thought the girls were idiotic, too, but ...) and that the hot tub and couch scenes were staged. I also find it hard to believe that they would have to put the milk in bottles like that; no dairy I've worked on/lived on/known about does that.

I .heart. JSlice, OT's Artist of the Year!

You are right! My Aunt and Uncle own a dairy about 20 miles from where filming was and they have machines that do that. I am sure they would of loved to of had Paris and Nicole visit and would NOT of been so rude!!

So they are setting it up to make the girls look lazy?
Because even as inept as they were, they looked like they actually tried. That job looked hard and dirty.

Again I find myself sticking up for these women I never thought I'd defend, but that job sucked.
They seemed to try at least.

He moved past harsh into Scary to me. I kept thinking of this horror movie trailer that went "There's No Telling What Critters are in Farmer Ted's Fritters." I am hoping they explained he cannot actually whip the gals into submission.

(Actually, I think he was encouraged by the producers to be extra tough).

The mitzvah that is my signpic courtesy the genius that is our own JSlice. Such a nice girl! Now, have some more borscht.

The show cracks me up!
That job sucked!
I am no spoiled rich girl, and I have worked some pretty crappy jobs in my day ( my current job included) and I would have walked out of that Dairy.

The situations are set up, the reactions maybe not, but they are giving them a harsh view of working people for sure.

How many of you would have walked out of that place? I know I'd have to be pretty hungry to work that job for more than an hour.

From the looks of that dairy I would of walked out too!!
A modern dairy is not as hard as that looked. And actually filling up milk bottles with a hose did not look that bad but I am putting myself in their shoes and MAN did they have culture shock.
Funnier yet would be to put them in a chicken plant!! In the live hanging crew or in eviscerating where they would have to pull guts!! LOL

And those girls lucked out! If they would of been filming in July and August they would of DIED from the heat!!

Culture shock is right!
I am from L.A. originally, and it really is different than anywhere else. I've lived in a small Texas town ( not quite as rural as the show, but close) for over 10 yrs now. Culture shock for sure ( and I wasn't living with the rich )

I think the creators of the show tried to go to extremes, to find the total opposite lifestyle.
It makes for great TV, but most of us realize that most Californians don't live like P & N and not all people in Arkansas are as Country as the situations set up for the show.

Still? How much fun is this show? I am really amused.
I think the family they are staying with and the rich girls are being really sports about it all. It's for entertainment, it's all tougue in cheek and it's funny.

lol right now it also looks like the people from Arkansas "in the show" are really shy in front of the cameras ...which makes for lousy interaction...hopefully that will improve !!

I know I can feel their shyness!!
We just do not have much opportunity down here for all that chaos and cameras!
Arkansas has produced several famous movie stars but we rarely get a glimpse of the Hollywood life! LOL
I am sure this will be the biggest thing to come out of Altus I am sure!!

Yes the Dairy Farm was hard work but isn't that the point? Work is hard and if you have no money then you do whatever job you can get and you do it to the very best of your ability. By them adding water to the bottles they jeopardized the man's business.
How is that charming or fair or right? Then they got in the hot tub and then took a nap? Give me a break. I would have fired them sooner than the farmer did and would have docked their pay more than he did.

Theyre really spoiled girly girls ...I really wasn't suprised....I did'nt like how they added water to the milk wither...I think they were just trying to be over the top for the cameras !!

This is my first time ever posting a message so please bear with me.

I don't think the farmer was too harsh on them. I have met some pretty roughneck, hardworking, bussiness men in my time and if anyone else would have pulled a stunt like N&P did then there would have been some yelling (screaming) going on. I think the farmer was really nice to them, all things considering, their invading his private home. I don't know of any bussinesses that would tolerate their actions, not even the extremely wealthy ones. He gave them work that a 12 year old could easily do. He could have given them a lot harder jobs.

Hi snowynight!
Glad you decided to jump in the conversation. We all were first timers at one time.

I'd like to offer up a warm welcome to you and all the other fresh voices that are finding these message forums for the first time. ( those posting and those just reading too)

Maybe the Dairy boss wasn't too hard on them, ( I think he was a bit harsh but that is just my opinion). But seriously, who would hire such girly girls to do that hard a job? It is a physically demanding job, and dirty too. Rich or not, foo foo girls would never do that kind of job. I like that they put these young women in that situation, it made for a good show. But it's not like the man didn't know what the deal was.

Also something that has been bugging me, there is no way he sold that milk like that. He said it wasn't pasturized. Also, the conditions were very unsanitary. The girls had been cleaning cow poop, you don't just have the same people that shovel the sh*t, fill the milk bottles. They weren't even wearing plastic food service gloves. They were filling bottles of milk, OUTSIDE! They were capping the bottles in a very unsanitary condition. None of that was clean. Do you really think that is the way his business is usually run? Milk bottling is a sterile set up, it has to be. The milk fill thing was a total set up.

I wouldn't judge anyone involved in this show too harshly, neither the girls nor the community members interacting with them.

There are different types of "reality" shows. This one is more situational comedy. Some are prize driven, some are fashion, some are home improvement. Not all "reality" shows are cut from the same cloth. This show is full of set up situations.
And not everyone is going to find the situations entertaining.
I happen to find this show to be very fun.
