Every time I look at our own front page, I'm reminded of my former theory -- the one which used to say ABC's main priority for casting the leads is how many tabloid headlines they can generate during and after the show.

It used to be a theory. I think we've moved to 'proven'.

It's not how many tabloid headlines they can generate, it's how many ratings points they can generate that is the driver in who they cast. Ratings is their god, you know.
