"Make Me A Supermodel"

I'm not sure if I've seen each ep of this. I watched the first where they had to pair up and get in a glass box to be hoisted up above everyone and look sexy.

Then last night they got spray painted (from the pantyline up) had candy - sprinkles, chocolate, etc. - glued to them. Some looked yummy - others? not so much The women had little pasties too .
Last night was also make-over night. One girl was very unhappy about them cutting her blonde hair and dyeing it dark brown. But I thought she looked awesome!

So, am I the only one watching this?

Nope jbug, I'm watching it too. I enjoyed last season and am glad to see they've made a few tweaks to the show. I think I Tivo'd the show that's on later in the week so I won't see it until then. Too much other good stuff on Wed nights! I'll be back...

I'm a looker, I mean watcher, as well.

You have seen both episodes, however, about a month earlier, they had an episode trimming down the number of contestants.

I loved last season. Do you think Samone is the new Holly?

I love the artistic stuff they make the models do, however, much of it is not my style.

There is a gal who had a baby less than a year ago. I am wondering if it was the person who went on this week's "go see". She had a very wide almost broad pelvis for such a flat abdomen, that she did look strange in those jeans.

I've never heard "androgynous" as many times in my whole 43 years than I have in two episodes!

I admit I watched the first episode - even considered writing a summary for it and posting it here. Second episode is DVR'd so I catch up over the weekend.

Seems like the cut the budget this year, huh?

Photo shoots on the docks with a crane and an acrylic box instead of Times Square like last season.

Prize is a go see, which costs what? the cabfare to get there - its not even a guaranteed job.

The female "mentor" I've never heard of.

The first ep photographer looked like a derelict.

They booted the one guy who actually looked healthly - guess they were afraid he might want to eat something and they had no budget for food. None of the other models looked they they've had a meal in weeks.

Chris is a model? - androgyny, fine but he is just sickly, frail and sorta creepy looking. Wonder if the "could go either way" name of Chris is for the show or real. I'll bet his name is Harvey or Leonard.

I'm watching. Have caught up on all episodes and am in love with Johnathan, Amanda, Mountaha and Salome.

Jordan's 'tude is really annoying.
Sandhurst is waaaay over-rated.
Brandon is juvenile.
CJ is pityful.

And what's with Gabriel? His problems remind me of a quote from Zoolander:

I have not seen this week's ep yet, but I must say so far..

Colin is the bomb! Last season Holly was my favorite from the get go, followed by Ronnie, Perry and Ben, so it worked out good (IMO).

This season I think Colin has the most potential, Jordan is the best at this point. I don't especially like her or Brandon, but they are both hot and model-y.

Sandhurst is good, but not THAT good.
CJ is weak. And short.

That was so funny! no wonder she got the boot, and Gabriel should be glad (though I agree that nice underwear is important).

We have a Boston Terrier and we were looking at the dog, looking at Karen, looking back at the dog and laughing. And Karen kept doing it...during the whole judging her eyes continued to be HUGE!

Think I just have a thing for underdogs - personally I'd go for Gabriel over any of the other guys. Jonathan is not bad, Sandhurst is highly overrated, Branden and Colin are just blah.


I have just jinxed Gabriel to being eliminated next week.

So glad Laury and Kerryn went last week. Especially Laury. She really thought she was the best one there. Nope.

I am happy with who is left. I wonder who will go home tonight.

Love Sandhurst, Jonathan, Amanda and Mountaha. I think one of those 4 will win.

Jordan is very good, but I hate her attitude! She needs to do what she came to do and stop obsessing over Amanda. It's the typical brunette is jealous of the blond HS bull.

Colin, Brandon and Salome are better that those who are gone, but not good enough to beat the others, IMO.

How did the unbelievably handsome Colin go over the nothing special, totally centerfold material if you call that modeling, Amanda. I can only believe Amanda is being kept for the drama, because she isn't even one of the 10 or 12 best models.

I am so sad over Colin's elimination I can't believe it, but I knew he wouldn't win.

Jordan and Jonathan seem like the obvious possible winners, with Salome and Sandhurst rounding out the top four.

Amanda needs to be gone, and Mountaha and Branden are just filler.

Now that was interesting!
Oh, and the catwalk with the bubble full of butterflies? Really neat! I didn't look much at the clothing tho

I think there is a line between not being modest and being an exhibitionist.
Some of them went out with just a bit of nervousness; and yet make some awesome photos.
Jordan went out ready to show the world she has no modesty at all - but to me her attitude screams exhibitionist.
I am so tired of her attitude - about everything.

Do the winners of the go-sees ever pick someone of the opposite sex to go with them (I've missed a couple of eps). I was hoping Solome would take one of the guys with her.
Wondering why the furniture people didn't give Solome a clue as to what they wanted - rather than let her pose too dramatically for them.

I like Montauha and Solome (I have no clue to the speelings of these names).
And Jonathan. The judges are right; he spells m.o.n.e.y. (hopefully he can find enough to keep his family going till he gets home from this comp).
I even like Sandhurst. He has an amazing body.

Brendan has the same look in his eyes and face every photo shoot. Always looks a bit angry.

As much as I like Salome, her catwalk is wiggly. And the others were right, her picture was waist up, not showing her total profile.

The next episode should be unsuspenseful, since it is really time for Brendan to go.

I don't see Mountaha lasting much longer, but she may edge out Salome for fourth place.

Last ep was the Jordan wake up call. I would actually be willing to bet that it will be Jordan vs. Jonathan in the final two.

6th-Brendan
5th-Mountaha, maybe Salome
4th-Salome, maybe Mountaha
3rd-Sandhurst
2nd-Jordan
1st-Jonathan. Now he can pay for his family.

So sad that I was robbed of more time watching Colin and Karen when Amanda should have gone before either of them.

Best Moment: When Amanda said she walks around naked in front of her kid so he'll grow up straight. I'd have to think the naked mommy tactic might backfire on her.

Ever notice how stupid people tend to say "No offense, but..." just prior to saying something really stupidly offensive?

I have no idea why Amanda was around this long.

Also, I am really tired of model reality show contestants telling me they are doing it for their child. The child wants you at home. He doesn't give a crap for how well you walk or how much fierceness you wish to express. The job entails (if you are successful) a lot of time away from home. I'm not saying no one should try to be a model if they have kids, I'm just saying you are so NOT doing it FOR the kids.

ETA - this show is still better than this cycle of ANTM, if only because of the nude male photos. Yum.

Jordan had such an attitude!

It would have been terrible for Jonathan to get kicked off just because of the one photo shoot. He rocked the wheelie shoes - better than anyone else.

I wish they'd quit harping on Solome's butt. Curves look good on women. She is so pretty.
Jordan was extremely skinny - skin and bones - and had admitted that she does no exercise and eats lots of junk. So, anyone else think she purges?

I thought Jordan might get the boot due to her editing this episode. I am surprised because she seems, to me, one of the best two models and I didn't think personality was so important on this show.

Once the bottom three was Jonathan, Salome and Jordan, I knew Jordan was toast. Salome has won a lot of competitions, so I think the judges are just looking for an excuse to dump her. Which is too bad, since she's my post-Colin favorite.

Since Jonathan didn't get his photos chosen and picked that weird hair, he needed a wake up call. At this point, I am almost certain he will win.

I don't get the Mountaha love. She is nothing special, imo.

Branden's vulnerability earned him one more week. Would be quite shocked to see him after next episode.

I agree - Brendon should be the next to go.

However, based on the previews of next week's episode I think Mountaha may be in trouble - they are doing some kind of shoot with gigantic whole fish - and she is such a prissy "city girl" -- I think she may be really uncomforable (and it will show)!.

My fav's are Jonathan, Sandhurst and Salome - who should rock this challenge - but the judges seen to have their own agenda despite the model's performances.

I think Jonathan needs to rethink the hair too ... the new look is not good.

Have to say this show has become my guilty pleasure on Wednesday nights!!

That used to me, BUT I NEVER HAD TO PURGE. It caught up with me after two children and age 40!!! I was 108 lbs. at 5'4" from 7th grade until I became pregnant at 29! I could out-eat most men....age can be cruel. I am now 140 lbs. I don't look like Winona Ryder anymore.

ETA: I am now 5'5".....I thought I was supposed to shrink????

How old is she anyway?
I had forgotten that until I was about 16, I was as skinny as a rail. And I was tall even then - 5'8" at 16. I could eat anything and not gain weight - had a fierce metabolic rate!

Dang it! I shoulda been a model!

But then the hips started spreading just a bit. Still stayed rather thin till mid-20's. Then became more normal sized.
Then after 40? well, let's just say I have an extra 20 lbs that I wish I didn't have.

But even as thin as I was, I don't think I ever looked as skinny as Jordan.

I was disappointed to see Salome leave as well. She sure rocks the photo shoot, doesn't she? I have a hunch she'll do well in modeling. Who will win a photo shoot now?

Brendan rocked it this week.

Jonathon is getting distracted and is off course.

Sandhurst keeps plugging.

Montaha will probably win, but I am losing respect for her due to her attitude.

Salome is OK, but I do not think she was the best. As there are less and less models, they have to look at all factors. Her catwalks have not always been great.

I do not think Branden is good at all and I wonder how the eff he is still there. His photos suck and many of his catwalks have sucked. Salome should be there over him.

I was more worried that Sandhurst was going to go b/c I LOVE him! Of course, I do think Jonathan is better, but there is something about Sandhurst. He's yummy. What a great body and that accent. *sigh*

Mountaha is the best of all the women that were on this show??? The mind *boggles*. I do not think she will win.

My money is on Jonathan at this point as the other three are inconsistent and have some flaws.

So we're down to a 3 male finale.
I liked the results.
Montaha played it much too easy with the one pose in the fire shoot. She was too overconfident - and, well, I didn't like her much anyway. And her crying at the end? I'm sure that made Brandon feel great! Like she was so shocked that she was eliminated instead of him - she just knew she had it won. She acted like she was the only one that really wanted to win (why do they all act that way? each one thinks he/she is the only only who deserves to win).

I liked Jonathan's fire pose. His eyes were very intense.
I agree with the judges; his walk was perfect.

Brandon - still young but growing. I really wish the photographer had picked any one of his 'screaming' poses. At least that would have been what 'he' was trying to give to the shoot. I think it was unfair for the photographer to choose one taken before he really even started his 'look'.

Sandhurst? He is awesome. I love his attitude (and his accent ).

I love Sandhurst too! He is my favorite. Has been since early on.

Jonathan is awesome. I think he will win, though I am hoping for Sandhurst to pull it off. Still, I would be very happy for Jonathan.

Why the eff is Branden still there???? He should have been gone long ago. I agree Mountaha screwed up this week, but she was way better overall than Branden.

I went into this episode thinking 2 things:
1. A guy will win because...
2. Mountaha was the best girl of the bunch? She cannot possibly win. No. I think Jordin was miles ahead.

I think Salome and Jordin were more photogenic than Mountaha. If Salome had worked harder on her runway, I think she would have been in the finals. I really don't know why they cut Jordin, other than they were down to the top six and had to get rid of somebody.

Among the guys, I'm rooting for Sandhurst, but would be okay with Jonathan winning, since he's been strong from the get-go and the photographers and people on the go-sees almost always love him. I am surprised that Brandon is still there -- his photo shoots generally suck. I think he's only there because they like the way he looks. It's certainly not for his talent, as he could easily have gone 6th or 7th, and nobody would have said boo.

I think it's crap that Mountaha was eliminated over Branden, and I'm no Mountaha fan. Branden should have been gone WEEKS ago. His pictures are good, but they're all the same. His walk is horrendous. I don't see this improvement that the judges talk about. He's still all hunched over and awkward looking. They must really, REALLY want a guy to win this season. But I think that they would have gotten that result even if Mountaha was still in it because she is not better than Jonathan or Sandhurst. (Another I.LOVE.SANDHURST! vote here.)

Sandhurst was HOT this week! I think Jonathan has it in the bag though. He's been consistently praised by the judges each week.

I'm in the same WTF club that Brandon is still there. He's one note.

I really liked Mountaha. She was so unique.

I thought it was pretty cute though, when Brandon said he was going to get $10 shoes at Sears to go with his Hugo Boss suit and they would look just as good. He still has that frat boy mentality.

I wondered if they wouldn't pick Jonathan because he has a family - they did ask him if he was prepared for leaving them for the travels required.

I liked Sandhurst from the very beginning. Thought it would be him or Jonathan.

I understand that Brandon improved and all - but -
his walk was still not strong. Maybe the modeling agency expects to use him more in print ads than on the catwalk.

Well, I should have known from the get go after Mountaha got eliminated, but the editing last night made it pretty clear Branden would win.

Of the final three, I am glad he won. Jonathan was steady but never got better. He will definitely work, anyway.

I feel Sandhurst was wildly overrated, I thought his firey photo was the ONLY good one of the entire series for him. That said, he was the only finalist who didn't look stupid in the "playful" outfit. Branden and Jonathan looked uncomfortable and silly.

Branden's walk still wasn't very good, but he looked incredibly awesome in his suit. It made me want to buy the suit, which is the whole point.

Aaandd....finally, I have to say that last season was SO MUCH BETTER! I honestly believe that Holly, Ronnie, Ben and Perry were ALL better than any of this season's top 4.

I still think Colin, Jordan and Salome were the best this season. Amazing how much less interesting the show is when one's favorites are all gone.

Brandon the winner? NO WAY ---

He should have been eliminated in the "accessory" challenge when Tyson had to step in to show him how to turn his body to achieve a little muscle definition and prevent the "junk" from showing. The photographer even commented on how a reshoot would have been required if it had been a real job. Instead, Jordin went home.

He should have been eliminated in the "beach shoot" - he's definitely missing muscle tone, and his one look -- the snarl -- makes him look angry and constipated. Salome's "big butt" got her eliminated, yet she won the photo challenge that week with a rear view.

He should have been eliminated in the "fire" episode for failing to follow the instructions of the photographer who specifically instructed him not to yell. His photo came from before the shoot officialy started? How sad. Instead, we lost Mountaha.

As for the finale, I absolutely hated Brandon's side-view shot --- they talk about his "S" curve, all I saw was a slouch-shouldered guy who needs more time in the gym.

Brandon has never had the walk. How many times was Jonathan told his walk was "money"?

As for all the talk about how much more he improved than Sandhurst or Jonathan, why should those guys be penalized for being better to begin with and remaining consistent?

How can Brandon possibly be the winner? How? I hope he goes out, buys his $10 Sears shoes to go with his Hugo Boss suit, and falls flat on his leering face.

Plus, I agree with ToddE above... last season was way better than this one! Holly was an awesome pick.

The judges got this one completely wrong. Branden was the worst pick.

I actually thought all 3 guys looked really good in the final, but I wonder if Brandon's age was a deciding factor. Many of the top models start in their early teens. Jonathon has a very sophisticated look, but he definitely comes across as an "older" guy. Sandhurst was always being criticized for his legs being too developed and he sometimes had problems fitting into sample sizes.

Perhaps the judges were being practical about who could actually book jobs based on the reality of the business, unlike Tyra.

As an aside, isn't Perou an odd fella?

Agreed that all 3 looked good, but I was definitely surprised (Esp since Jonathan won the fan vote on Bravotv.com) But I don't think Sandhurst or Jonathan will have any trouble booking jobs.

To my surprise, I opened my new issue of Details magazine last night, and there were multi-page ads featuring both Colin and Branden.

Branden had two full pages and a two page spread for Diesel. He looked really good in one photo, but looked stiff in 3 of the 5 pix.

Colin looked really good in all of his pictures. I can't remember who it was for, though. I was especially glad to see Colin working since he only got 8th place, but was my favorite of the season.

Hmm...that's funny. I swear I saw Gabriel in an ad the other day for something. I can't remember what it was at this moment but it was Gabriel.
He didn't win either.
So while we're seeing the losers all working in print and tv, where's Jonathan, the winner? I haven't seen him at all.

Jonathan actually got second, Branden won...he was a widely decried winner, but at least he's working (still has a lot to learn).
