Sadly we still have like 4 months to go before we see Jack Bauer again. But here's some new stuff I found.

(hidden text for y'all)

First, the characters. Of course Kiefer Sutherland is back as Jack Bauer, but instead of working for CTU, he works for the DOD. William Devane will play Jack's new boss the Secretary of defense. Kim Raver plays Audrey Raines, assistant to the Secretary of Defense and possible love interest for Jack? Alberta Watson plays Erin Driscoll the new Director of CTU. Shawn Doyle plays Ronnie Lobell replacing Tony as head of field Ops. Geoff Pierson is back as Senator Keeler- he's now the President of the United States. And of course Mary Lynn Rajskub is back as wacky CTU techie Chloe O'Brien.

Now the plot. Season 4 starts at 7:00AM with a train bombing. Devane's character is kidnapped by terrorists. Jack investigates the kidnapping and a mysterious briefcase. Somehow Chloe is involved in finding a clue about the terrorists. Jack was fired by the new head of CTU because of his drug problem.

the show airs January 3rd on FOX

I'm glad Chloe is back. She brought an interesting dynamic to CTU.

I really have faith in this show. These changes worry me so much. But I so have faith. To be honest, I was kind of hoping Jack would be killed off and the rest of the cast would kind of fill in. But it is nice to finally see a show so realistic -- not everything turned out so perfect for Tony and President Palmer.

24 news

Season four begins 18 months after the third season, with the episode "Day 4: 7:00 am - 8:00 am." CTU is now headed by Erin Driscoll (Alberta Watson, LA FEMME NIKITA), a steely government agent who made firing Jack one of her first priorities upon taking over. After the explosion of a commuter train, Jack, who is now working for Secretary of Defense James Heller (William Devane, KNOTS LANDING) and also is romantically involved with his married daughter, Audrey (Kim Raver, THIRD WATCH), suddenly finds himself heading back to CTU for a meeting with Driscoll on Heller's behalf. Also featured will be Nestor Serrano (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW) as Middle Eastern businessman Navi Araz, Oscar-nominated actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (THE HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG) as his wife, Dina, and Jonathan Ahdout (THE HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG) as their son, Behrooz.

Some more "24" tidbits for y'all

(hidden text below)
Carlos Bernard (Tony Almeida) has supposedly signed a deal to appear as a guest star on 24 during February sweeps.
Chloe will face suspension at CTU for aiding Jack (who's no longer at CTU). Jack, on the run, will somehow be involved in robbing a gas station!

I'm now seeing that the show will begin on a new date - January 9 with two hours after an NFC playoff game. Then it'll be back the next night for another hour so we get to see three hours over the course of 24 hours - sweet! (http://www.fox.com/24/)

Twentieth Century Fox has greenlighted production of a 24 spin-off that will air exclusively for cell-phone users, Variety reports. Titled 24: Conspiracy, the show will feature new characters and unfold over 24 one-minute episodes. It'll debut in the U.K. on Jan. 30 before arriving in the U.S. next spring. In the meantime, rumor has it Fox is working on a series of spoiler-rich promos that will take all the fun out of watching.
