"Treasure Hunt"

AMAZING RIP-OFF?: What do you get when you cross Amazing Race with a good old-fashioned scavenger hunt? NBC's latest reality gamble. According to Variety, the Peacock network has greenlit Treasure Hunters, a 10-episode series in which teams embark on a global quest to solve an intricate puzzle — like, who should take the fall for LAX?

I still wish someone would just pick up The Mole. That was a great show (I mean the original, not the Celebrity version). But instead they keep trying to do new shows.

The Mole should only comeback in Anderson Cooper is the host. So until someone pries him off of CNN, there will be no Mole.

Anderson has said that he hated doing The Mole, so there's no hope of him hosting it again.

Oh it's a rip off alright. Just not of TAR ...
I's funny that nbc is touting this a new show.. and it's weird that there are seven exec producers. it's weird because a year ago someone told me about this great idea for a reality tv contest they had that would cross the globe, seeking a hidden treasure, using clues and ancient legends. He didn't find any takers for the show at that time and now a year later it pops up with nbc and seven executive producers and no writer/ creator credit. Reality TV is so not real and so about budgets and audiences that quite frankly it's put me off the genre all together, and this last item definitely makes me not want to watch shows were the creators don't get the credit! In my book that's called stealing and stealing is sooo NOT cool. I mean when you write something, do you best to sell it, pitch it to a lot of people and they tell you " too expensive to produce" it is really unethical for them or others like them to then wait a while and then drag it back out and produce it figuring they're home free simply because they have a big name/ are a studio. It's so bad that they didn't even bother to change the d*** name of the show. the one my friend wrote and registered was/ is called TREASURE HUNTER and the one NBC is now doing is called TREASURE HUNTERS - gee golly go whiz there's a simple 's' added on, wow, how incredible!! It must have taken them so LONG to decide to do that! (when you think that if I went out and did a TV channel called NBCS using there content and not attributing it to them I be dragged in court before i had time to take another breath). Anyway, I actually yelled at the friend in question for not yet having a lwayer and pursuing the heck out of these people - it doesn't matter that they're big and huge, they have no right to take others people's talent and use it for their own benefit and profit feeling that nothing will happen to them. He answered that he'd tried but the three large firms in LA that he'd contacted had told him there was a conflict of interest... How many lawyers and firms does NBC need anyway? apparently a LOT, or enough that no one wants to touch his case with a ten foot pole. After all the news in the last year about shows being copycats you'd think they be more careful. But maybe because we continue watching these shows and filling their pockets with profits they feel that they immune from ethics and maybe even the LAW. It just makes me sick.

The law is on there side. If you pitch an idea, it becomes fair game after a certain amount of time. They just have to hope nobody else picks it up in the long run. I had a college proffessor that said he pitched a show in the 70's, they passed, but it showed up on the fall lineup 2 years later. He tried to sue, but was told they were well within their rights. The whole thing was mute though, the show died by midseason.

It may be some sort of rip-off, but I like the idea! Hope it doesn't flop!

And yes, Mole with AC should come back.

At first, I thought you were talking about a revival of that old 70s Chuck Barris game show with all the boxes, hosted by Geoff Edwards.

And men were never selected as contestants.
