Well, they could have come to my hometown and sifted through the hillbillies...

Waiting for Dominic to get the boot so I can console him.

I gotta disagree a bit... I've never watched 5 minutes of American Idol, but I thought this was pretty funny (yes, in a mean-hearted way, but still...)

You have to wonder what's going to happen once the selections are over though...

Oh, and that friend of her's is single and divorced huh... what a surprise...

Refers to some of the poor guys... not the show itself.

The blonde girlfriend is evil... is a very intriguing way!

I'm going to be watching this show... at least for the interview rounds. No promises once it turns into The Bachelorette redux.

I had it on, but I got stuff going on at the house so we were busy. From what I saw I liked it better then the Bacholor , and face it, Love or Money Sucked hard ( and not in the good way).

I'll give Cupid another shot.

Hell, it's better than Paradise Badly Scripted Homely Hotel.

edit bad typo

I saw the last 30 minutes of it, that one blonde friend is a biotch, but I like her, thought it was funny when they had to escort that one guy out who wouldn't leave. Can anyone say "stalker?"

Maybe it's because I've met too many of these guys (which explains why I'm still single) but I loved this show and enjoyed watching the ladies put these jerks in their place.

Did realize one possible flaw in the concept last night. I was thinking that if the voting were held now I would want Dominic to win (literally went WOW when he walked out). I then realized that meant I would be voting Dominic into the arms of another woman and, unless I get over this pesky don't date other people's men thing, remove any chance of his ending up in my arms. Therefore it would be to the advantage of all women who don't have Simon pimping for them to give Lisa the dud and keep the choice ones on the open market for ourselves. As you saw last night there aren't many out there to begin with. So I'm starting a campaign--Lisa can have SK8TR boy (or any from Miami for that matter) and we get the rest.

You wouldn't happen to be a fan of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart? Coincidently, they had a special feature last night on the search for a genetic cure to the disease of stupidity. Unfortunately for most of the men on this show it appears to be decades away from success.

Yeah, I agree. I think the blonde friend is rude ... only because I don't think she understands the good Godly work she is doing. Ha. Being a man, it frustrates me to hear such sorry game playing crap from guys ... and the only thing that is worse is that women buy into it. So while I think it is by accident and without much understanding of what is going on ... and with no attempt to educate myself, or anyone in the audience ... the blonde frien (and the overall show, Cupid) is doing us all a favor by not playing along with the tired guy game.

The tired guy game: Have you noticed that there seems to be, as a "getting to know you" process, an argument offered early in the relationship? Eh, I've noticed it. Rather than a learning process, a control game begins, where the guy tries to prove something and the woman plays along by offering objections. A puzzle to me, if the guy "wins" his argument, he seems to think that the woman then must submit to his reality. The women often seem to follow along ... rarely do I get to see an example of a woman, or women, saying "no." Usually, what I see is women trying their hand at the game in order to feel more "empowered" -- I can be a control freak, I can be a whore, I can be oblivious to reality and live in my neurotic fantasy world, just like these guys.

Oh, uh ... did I rant a bit? Yeah. Ok, so anyway, I like the show and enjoy seeing these guys get a dose of reality. Even from someone who I don't think understands the good she is doing. And I hope that she grows up a bit ... otherwise, it gets old paying attention to the worst in guys, or in women ... eventually, we just end up accepting a l'il bit of their standards.

OK. That's all.

We are always saying bad things about the hosts of these "reality shows", but this host is THE WORST!!

The guy not only talks funny, looks funny and isn't funny, but he also has no shoulders. It's really creepy! Everytime they put him in a different colored shirt I, "Don't they realize this guy has NO SHOULDERS?"

In a kinda "Joe Millionaire"-like move, the former MTV VJ guy is so bad that Simon felt the need to take over most of the hosting duties for the first two episodes himself!

(yes, you read the right... Simon is only around "narrating" the first two episodes -- after that it's all Brian all the time)

Oh, I dunno. I thought is was interesting when Andy was introducing Ernestine Bass to all of those women. But I just kept thinking that Ernestine Bass was one ugly woman, and how was she going to find a husband if Andy just kept introducing her to other women? Or was Sheriff Andy Taylor really just trying to find a woman for himself and was asking Ernestine Bass to introduce him to the ladies of Mayberry?

Remember that we poor idiots in North Carolina who can't be trusted to think for ourselves had to be content with 'alternate programming' after our Paradise Hotel/Big Brother fixes last night.

I was thinking about the NC ban of this show last night during one of the commercials. At first I couldn't figure out what they were advertising. There was a husband and wife playing golf when a guy dressed as a bird and a guy dressed as a bee came up to them and accused the couple of ignoring them for months. The couple says they are sorry and asks what they can do. The bird and bee then say come with us, we'll help you out and I suddenly realized it was an ad for a sex shop (edited to add they referred to themselves as a Sensual Shoppe).

I never watched Paradise Hotel, Temptation Island, etc. (those type of reality shows never seemed to appeal to me) so maybe the ad has been broadcast before and I missed it. But I never expected it on our staid, conservative, somewhat parochial CBS affiliate. I nearly fell off the couch. Maybe there is something more corrupting about this show then meets the eye (not that I'm disapproving or anything or plan to stop watching).
