STAR WARS: Can we have a show of hands from anyone who didn't see this coming? Buoyed by Fox's success with American Idol, CBS is bringing back the granddaddy of all talent shows: Star Search. The Eye network — which has ordered nine episodes of the Star remake — hopes to have the show on the air by midseason. Sadly, Ed McMahon will not be back as host.

It gets worse... it's being backed by Dallas Mavericks Owner/Referee Baiter and all around Frankensteinian human Mark Cuban, who has quickly moved up my list of people who annoy the bejeezus out of me.
