"Is the show rigged?"

Alright tonight started the 3rd installment of For Love or Money with Rachael & Andrea squaring off and the men having to choose one to stay. In the end Andrea was sent home along with the 7 guys who picked her over Rachael.

I for one think this was totally setup by the show's executives. Rachael is so totally fake and it's so easy to see. There is no way anyone can convince me that in such a short amount of time that those 8 guys could have been more impressed with Rachael over Andrea, just not possible.

One of the guys made a comment that he thought the vote was going to be a landslide and it should have been. I am convinced that NBC decided who they wanted to stay and had the votes tainted that way. Why else woudl it have come down to that last deciding vote? I mean this is reality TV, it shouldn't always be that dramatic.

I'm guessing that they asked the men who they will pick before that scene. So when they call out the men's name, I think they ordered the names so it'll be more dramatic by having Andrea be ahead for a while.

BTW, I was rooting for Rachel to beat Andrea. It was a very close vote though.

About the comment that one guy said it was going to be a landslide, I don't think you can take his words very seriously. Other guys are there to play for money, and I think some probably didn't tell this guy the truth about who they will pick.

I thought as you did--FAKE! I can't believe 8 men would prefer the girl with fake boobs (my wife tells me) who can't cook over the adorable blond with a better personality who can cook and doesn't forget the wine.

Can you say FIX!!!! I knew this show wanted Rachael--she's a better villain.

yeah, people just love to hate Rachael. She makes for better TV and I agree that the show wanted her to be 'the one'. I doubt they leave a whole lot to chance.

I thought the comments made by the two women seemed too timely, in essence after each man came down, it sounded like they pulled the women to the side for private confessionals. I also think they polled the men before the vote and in case it was a landslide, made it "tempting" to go to Rachael's side, after all she will probably bring in more viewers. That was most apparent with the last guy and his speech before picking Rachael.

Personally, the show will be more entertaining with Rachael but I would have definitely picked Andrea (the food). At least we won't have to see the likes of Preston returning for a second chance.

What was the point of a guy crying at the end when he has only been there 1 day? Looked like he wants a shot at FLOM4.

Definitely had the makings of setup to me. Real men dont cry when they get their leg shot off...much less cry at the drop of a hat over some girl they never really knew. I hope he was an actor cause otherwise...he might as well not even go home. LOSER.

Wondered that myself, no way a dude cries over a girl he has known all of about 24 hours and had absolutely no type of relationship with. That was so fake!

Also there was one guy (Wes) that voted for Andrea that looked soooooo familar, I think he was an actor although he was listed as a message therapist.

I'm really undecided if I'll watch any more of this one. I just cannot stand Rachael's little facial expressions and how FAKE she is.

Wes to me looks just like Matt from the Bachelorette that Meredith ditched last.

Ehh, actor - massage therapist, what's the diff?

I know when I've just finished watching a good movie with a cute actor/therapist in it, I feel as though I've gotten some really good/restorative physical therapy... does that count?

I knew before I started watching that Rachel would stay and Andrea would leave. Andrea is an actress. She was asked back for the dramatic catty first ep. But the show wanted Rachel as their villianess.

I think it was set up too. What did they do, keep asking men till they found 8 that would prefer Rachel to Andrea? The men were given very little time to get to know either woman. So the fact that they would pick the plainer Rachel to Andrea was not realistic. Even when they met the men Andrea was in the flirty yellow dress and Rachel was in that ugly old-fashioned red thing. Then Andrea has the better meal for the men. But the men all want Rachel. Hard to believe in a real world. I would think the only reason a man would have picked Rachel is that they were thinking of the money. And they thought Rachel was more likely to pick them than the more glamourous Andrea. But something didn't seem true in this ep. And the guy that was crying seemed so familiar to me. I have seen him before someplace.

The men had little chance to know either Rachel or Andrea, so their going mostly by looks. I'm not surprised 8 out of the 15 men would pick Rachel. Andrea is not that attractive in the face. She looks Samantha from Sex and the City. Samantha is attractive for a woman in her 40's or 50's, but not as a women in her 20's.

I do agree that both women's confessionals seem awfully fake. Rachel sounds like she's reading from a script, and she doesn't read that well. The text of Andra's confessionals is highly suspect. If she recorded these confessionals after the fact - which I presume she did unless they stopped and recorded confessionals after each pick - than why make comments in the early events that only put egg on her face as the latter events play out. It makes no sense, unless the whole thing is scripted.

I think the producers set this all up. On the voiceovers it sounded so prepared and fake. Of course it would come down to the last vote. It wouldn't be exciting if it was a landslide.
I myself not really caring for either girl found myself rooting for Andrea. She seems more real than Rachael. they are both stuck of themselfs but I think Andrea would have given the guys a little more fun. I would have liked to see both girls given a chance on a few dates. the fun would be watching the two of them compeating.

I dont think the show is rigged. The guys really didnt get an opportunity to get to know the girls. And I can tell you my husband absolutely hates blondes. I dont know why. If a girl is pretty and she is blonde, he says that she is not attractive to him. So there may have been some of that going on as well as some guys just meshing with Rachel. Not all guys want a girl that is a chef. Some of them may like the fact that Rachel obviously didnt know what she was doing and found it endearing. Also - it would be interesting to see if the guys that chose her were the ones from Chicago thinking - hey if it works out, where we live wont be an issue.

It was probably a set up, but then again maybe the guys thought that it would be easier to choose the money over love if they picked Rachel.

I can't decide which of the reality shows is less real, this or the Casino. Of course this one's rigged to a certain extent. I have no doubt.

What I don't understand is if it were rigged for Rachel to win over Andrea, how come they didn't try to convince that guy Jai to pick Rachel. I think this is the first time in the history of reality dating TV (including Bachelor/ette, Joe Millionaire 1 and 2, both average Joes and the three previous FLOMs) that the token black guy or gal has gone home in the first episode.

That is too funny RTC! Yes the token brother didnt make it passed the first round this time.
This is definitely scripted to a certain extent..At least for the women..The produceres dont have time to script for the guys, except for that ridiculous crying stunt at the end.
There are obviously mostly women posters on this board who dont see that Rachel is way hotter than Andrea...She is just a whack job or pretending to be..She was def left on for more excitement on the show..

Debatable who is hotter between the two.

I do not think Andrea is attractive at all. I can't say that I think Rachael is much better, but I would pick her over Andrea any time. She also seems to be a much easier mark.

Who do you think is an easier mark? Rachel or Andrea? I thought Andrea is easier mark and if you want to go for the money, then you would pick her over Rachel. Rachel seems to know what she's doing in last season's FLOM.

Rachel is definitely the better mark for the guys. Andrea was all about the money and I think is still all about the money. They played Rachel up as the villian last season but there were times when it looked like she honestly might have considered Preston over the million. Andrea was going for the wad the whole way and if she were picked this season with a guaranteed Mil if she could get the guy to choose her, there would have been no contest as to which she would have picked.

Of course, theoretically the guys dont know this but maybe they were able to pick up on her overeagerness as being somewhat fake.

I think Rachael *seems* like the easier mark -- doesn't necessarily mean that she is. Andrea seems like she has a hard edge and just does not come across as sincere (not that Rachael does either).. but I have to say that she is small, and cops the poor poor pitiful me. And I still have to say that I don't find Andrea attractive at all. Not that Rachael is much better...

I think they should have brought Rebekah back for starters. Get some people with class.. and have it really turn out to be a hard decision.

K.

I noticed that too. I'm wondering if some day they will have an African-American bachelor with 14 African-American ladies and one token White guy.

"I mean this is reality TV, it shouldn't always be that dramatic."

The men they choose are just as catty as the women = high drama.

I suppose anything is possible, so it could be set up. Some men seem to like the challenge in a beyochie woman! Rachael did turn on the charm during the intros, so I think they were pretty much blind to "her ways."

I guess the really big question for me is, Why? Why do I watch this show? I cannot stand rachael. Her facial expressions alone make her unlikeable! Why did I care who was the girl that was chosen? Those 'confessionals' are, as pointed out, so fake and scripted. Why am I a sucker for contrived reality?
