"Tuesday voting"
Posted by kathliam on 05-03-06 at 08:53 PM
Almost 45 million votes cast after Tuesday night's program.

Obligatory introduction of the judges. Obligatory Ryan/contestant banter.

"Group sing"

To the tune 'Hollywood Swinging', all contestants driving down Hollywood Boulevard in a car, amazed by the people and sights.

Darn slow computer tonight.

"Paris is in the Bottom 2"

And we're subjected to the torture of her singing "Kiss" again.

And she thinks she wants to dance.

Ryan tells us that tonight's continuing contestants will be whisked by private jet to Graceland for Elvis workshop and meet with Tommy Motola.

Ryan looking for people with two lowest votes. Taylor, you aresafe. (Seating left to right is Taylor, Chris, Paris, Elliott and Katherine.) Chris, you are safe. Paris, she is in the bottom two.

Paris is first to join bottom two. Ryan invites her to sing, she hands him her gum to hold (ew!) and sings 'Kiss.'.

That wasn't as horrible as last night. I still didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. Paris will get some kind of recording contract regardless of the outcome, so it might as well be her. I think Elliott needs this more than any of those left. He is the least marketable. I like his voice, but I would not go see him in concert.

LOL...I missed the gum deal.

"Kat safe, Elliot Bottom 2"
Posted by nailbone on 05-03-06 at 09:16 PM
Elliot sings "On Broadway".

"Continuing on..."
Posted by kathliam on 05-03-06 at 09:16 PM
OK, I admit it. I FF'd through Paris's song. I heard it last night, don't need to hear her sing that again.

Elliott and Katherine remain. America voted, Katherine is safe, Elliott is in the bottom two.

Elliott is invited to sing 'On Broadway'.

Carp, carp, carp. Please let it be Paris. *crosses fingers*

My thoughts exactly. I like Paris' personality, but I want to keep Elliott longer. I love his voice, love it. I'd consider buying a CD.

Paris is gone, Elliott safe

As we suspected.

What a sweet smile she has.

"Going Home Tonight"
Posted by kathliam on 05-03-06 at 09:18 PM
Elliott would not be in the bottom two if he had sung 'On Broadway' with that heart last night.

Paris and Elliott center stage with Ryan. Oh the suspense, the tension. Ryan tells Elliott he may sit down, Paris is going home.

Buh-bye Minnie Mouse.

Dork confession: I had a couple of tears during her "good-bye montage". She was one of my early favorites until the cutesy-wootsy act stuff got to be too much. The gal has one heck of a set of pipes on her and she will go far (I still can't believe she is only 17!). I'm glad Elliott is still around, he really does have a rich voice.

"I loved Paris"
Posted by priestdi on 05-04-06 at 00:50 AM

good thing I've spent my life on the less-traveled path, given the pissy things I keep reading about Paris.

To my read, she's the most talented of the top 12.

It's a minor miracle she lasted this long, given her lack of a power-dialing fanbase among teen girls.

One more case of somebody leaving after one of their better nights, too. although she's never had a single bad night.

"AGREE"
Posted by singer on 05-04-06 at 06:59 AM
This kid is incredibly talented and she seemed so confident and not worried about the vote outcome. I think she had fun, and she made friends. Good for her.

I am still predicting that she ends up with a huge record contract and that she will pay her way through med school singing when she feels like it. It is great that she has so many positive choices.

I agree, singer. And in a couple of years, she could rule this thing. And a CD of her would be marvelous. But right now, she's just too young for the songs she's been singing, and watching her sing (and dance) them is just a tad creepy.

Same here. I was chanting when she started singing last night "please don't do the butt wiggle, please don't do the butt wiggle" and she did, even more so than she did last night. Ugh!

Siggy thanks to Syren!

LOL, BigAl.

I like Paris, and agree with everyone here. A little more maturity, and she'll go far. The girl's got pipes.

Compare her to the other teenaged pop tarts out there (Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, Raven Simone et al) and Paris has an edge: she can actually sing!
