"Gone Country on CMT"

Is anyone watching this? I just watched the first two and it was pretty entertaining. The basic format is the usual of has beens or never quite made it, trying to make it in another realm. Think Dee Snyder and Sisco trying to make it in country music. Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady) has oddly bonded with Bobby Brown, who still seems to have substance problems. They are doing it all under the guidance of John Rich (of Big & Rich) and living in his log cabin mansion!

Just happened on this last night in re-runs of the first 4 episodes. I LOVED IT!!

I think it deserves its own space on this reality board, and I hope it becomes a regular! I think this concept is original, and will be one of the greater reality shows-right now it's quickly becoming up there with my top faves!!

I thought I would fall off the couch when Bobbie B. was stumbling in the dark, and Dee had to re-tell the story of him trying to re-direct him with his retainer on!! OMG! These guys are too funny to even describe in REAL LIFE!

I'm rooting for Diana DeGarmo-she has a lot of class, is a fierce competetor, and I think the one to beat! Thanks for starting this thread. I hope more people start watching this show-I see a lot of potential for more in the future, with some very interesting contestants......

i just caught this tonight for the first time and i too am hooked....love it..

interesting trivial tidbit: the log cabin mansion is barbara mandrells "OLD" home. i remember a show many years ago that did a tour of it...and its sooo unique that i recognized it as soon as i saw it.

hate seeing maureen gained all her weight back from celebrity fit club...darn....and funny her connection with bobby brown.

Maureen AND Carney have both gained back the weight-so sad, considering Carney even had the stomach surgery!! But hopefully, they'll make another 'life altering decision', and get back into shape again!

Just saw the last episode, airing Sunday night, I believe, where they went to the Children's Hospital. EXCELLENT!!

If anyone out there, who REALLY loves reality TV is not watching this, I highly recommend it!! It is the heart and soul of country, as well as reality TV!! Bobby Brown is really growing on me-hope he can do something positive with this experience.

I agree about Bobby Brown. Last week he was disgusting and this week, you couldn't help but be touched. He seems to be at the emotional level of a teenager. I really like the way the rest of the cast seems to have really thrown themselves into the whole situation, although Julio Jr. seems kind of odd to me.

Very entertaining. Julio comes off arrogant but Bobby Brown comes off quite different than expected. Of course now that everyone knows he's a sleepwalking urinator...he's pretty much done with the ladies, even with his weapon of mass distruction.

LOL!!

His song was really good. BOY, did Rich give it to Diana-could NOT believe it! But he's good, gotta hand that to him. She said he's WAY worse than Simon Cowell, and that is NOT a compliment!!

Will be interesting to see how they pump it all up next week when the rubber meets the road and they have to perform those songs! EEEHA!

wow...so i just watched the finale....

it was a great show...the combo of celebs was quite interesting.
but are you kidding me??? julio WON??? lol....the look on carnie's face let alone julio's face was priceless...

i think carnie and maureen thought they were gonna win....but julio? never in a million years...so why do i think they picked him? i can't figure it out.

you know...diana acts so old for her age. she wants to be "famous"...you can just tell.

i am still stunned..lol

I agree. He was probably the last one I thought would win, although age wise, he and Diana are the only ones who possibly could have a career, rather than be a one hit wonder. I have heard that country music is trying to reach out to the Hispanic population in this country. I didn't think his song sounded country, but he did have a way with the young ladies.

I really was surprised at how entertaining this show was and how likable the celebrities were. I was especially touched by Bobby Brown, altough his demons still popped up at times.

I was a little put off that John Rich was constantly telling them what country music fans would and would not accept. Especially when Sisco danced a little and that broke some unwritten code.

I'm in agreement with you there as I am a country music fan who happens to like Sisco(sp?) and his dancing!

Especially since Big and Rich are trying to break down the sterotyping of what country is and isnt. **shrugs**

I guess its whatever makes tv! Still liked the show and was suprised that he did pick Julio...thought for sure Diana would get it.
