Thanks, Estee! Didn't mean to usurp your responsibilities with the duplicate thread...

Some of these people already annoy me - and I've only seen their photos in the credits!

Some of these people are annoying me through listening to them talk. Can you believe some of these opening confessionals?

But I do like (to look at) Todd.

Poor HD, you are going to need to find another to look at.

Please don't tell me it will be Danny, yikes!

Donald gets out of a helicopter and his hair doesn't move. Unintentional Comedy Rating: 83.

I was thinking the same thing about his hair. It is almost impossible not to look at his hair.

OK, enough of Trump blabbering on and on. A2 sucked because it was too much Trump and not enough candidates. I hope that gets worked out this season.

"First impressions."
Posted by Estee on 01-20-05 at 08:46 PM
I'm starting to like the high school guy (Networth, huh?) who wisecracked about their team having nothing to lose. He's been quick-witted so far. He's also absolutely right. Every Ivy League college in the country could be humiliated by the results, but the high schoolers can only make themselves look good through success.

Well, mostly only.

"RE: First impressions."
Posted by HistoryDetective on 01-20-05 at 08:49 PM
See, I found him totally obnoxious. So many of them on that team seem to have chips on their shoulder and an unspoken contempt for a college education. Rather soulless group considering how much they talk about nothing but the money so far.

Well, now I've got his name: John, Networth's first PM. And I like 'em fast on their mental feet. Sue me.

I can understand the HSers being defensive -- they've probably had their lack of degree rubbed in their faces a few times outside the DAW world.

"RE: First impressions."
Posted by ARnutz on 01-20-05 at 10:09 PM
I agree Estee, I kind of like the Networth members too. As a college grad who chose to get my education a little later in life, I have seen the other side as well while working jobs with only a high school diploma.

I think there are likeable and unlikeable people on both teams. So it will be interesting. I have already spotted a couple bow ties. So I guess Raj had an impact on some of them.

Not sure -- when did this start filming? They might have seen the first few episodes, but looking at the NYC weather rules out going through more than that.

I see Todd doesn't understand the concept, of, say, encouraging his team. What are the odds that one of my guys I have to portray in the game on Gen. Discussion is gone tonight because he is taking notes. Cripes, he's in the restaurant business. If my two chances go in the first two weeks, I am so petitioning for that kickass Viking hat.

I think I'm safe. Kristin hasn't said a word yet.

Todd's just too good to take BK training with the others. He has a college degree, y'know!

Networth seems a lot more organized so far, with better working ideas -- thanks in part to Danny working against Magna. Are we sure he isn't a plant?

Oh, wait -- Kristin just triggered dog urination.

"RE: The Apprentice #3 Episode #1 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by Fishercat on 01-20-05 at 09:18 PM
I think she said something that I disliked, but I can't remember it. Meh.

Yeah, Todd's elite, granted, sitting in a suit in Burger King isn't much better than being in the uniform and the little crown.

Danny finally came up with the baseball idea (I liked some of Stephanie's (I think) ideas, but Triple Play works). It seems to be during baseball season from the temp/time/taping trifecta, and it's a two baseball team city.

Oh wait, that was just the Trump editing to make us think that Todd and co. have a shot in hell at a Fast Food task v. people with real world experience. Whoops.

Personally, I want to trade Todd for the Travel Agent if I'm the college team (even if he doesn't have a 7th grade education). If he can get two people on an NBC show to buy tickets from his urine and dog festival, he must be damn good.

"I have to wonder"
Posted by Fishercat on 01-20-05 at 09:22 PM
With a Contender ad, I have to wonder why Mark Burnett isn't credited with The Casino on his advertisement. He did produce that PoS too?

Haha, Todd is so screwed, his advertisement is horrible.

"RE: I have to wonder"
Posted by Estee on 01-20-05 at 09:27 PM
The only people who will admit having anything to do with The Casino are the summarizers. And wouldn't it be nice if we could forget?

"RE: I have to wonder"
Posted by Fishercat on 01-20-05 at 09:30 PM
I even remember the lame gambling character they brought in for my episode, DENNY. How horrible, I wish I could forget it all.

Oooohh...and now we see the College Grads get slapped upside the head by The Ego.

Magna: 139 units, 553.22
Network: 182 units, 596.96

That was closer than I thought, and now Todd goes bye-bye, or Danny. Both the advertisement and the restaurant blew due to a lack of help.

"RE: I have to wonder"
Posted by TeamJoisey on 01-20-05 at 09:36 PM
No way Danny leaves. He's far too annoying, and Mark Burnett is gonna pull Donald's string on this one.

Bye-bye Todd.

I think it was about profit and Networth did buy the airline tickets and all the cowboy stuff. What did Magna buy?

"RE: I have to wonder"
Posted by Fishercat on 01-20-05 at 10:24 PM
A ping-pong ball, a stand, a cardboard box, some scissors to cut the cardboard box, some odd hats. They could have spent it better buying, I don't know, a brain or some not-so-creepy charisma.

I never even heard the goal. I guess it was profit, no reason for two similar burgers to only produce 53 dollars more profit for 43 extra burgers. Makes no sense.

I have to wonder though if it were sales - cost and not profit, since I can't believe Burger King makes 4 dollars a burger profit.

"RE: I have to wonder"
Posted by ARnutz on 01-20-05 at 10:32 PM
I am not positive, but I thought I heard DT say profit when he presented the task. So you could be right, but then they did not say how much or where the money would come from for their promotion.

"RE: Good motivational speech by John..."

Magna is probably scaring some customers away. That scene outfront looks silly. And the leaping around inside while all confused with the cash registar. Meanwhile Networth seems to really be getting into it.

first, I really like John. I'm surprised, but I do like him.

Now...

Magna sold 139 - $553.22
Net Worth sold - 182 - $596.96

John "I thought everybody did a great job"

Reward - going to 21 club - have dinner, then going into the vaults at the 21 club

"RE: Board Room #1"
Posted by Fishercat on 01-20-05 at 09:35 PM
Wow, that was a cruddy reward. An old looking prohibition wine cellar and dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Bighead. Blargh. Nice to see something transfer from last season.

"RE: Board Room #1"
Posted by anotherkim on 01-20-05 at 10:41 PM

that's actually a really cool reward, IMO. 21 is a very famous restaurant and that dinner in the wine cellar was outrageously expensive. Plus, they got time to put their face in front of Trump which is very good at this point when there is still a pack to separate yourself from.

"RE: Board Room #1"
Posted by Estee on 01-20-05 at 09:35 PM
Shh... HD might hear you.

Interesting down there in the vaults, but I have to wonder if someone was prompted to get the 'Donald pays off the mortgage' story told.

As I'm writing this, Danny is writhing in the grip of confessional. A million people applied for this show and this is our drama queen? Are there finally so many reality shows that the talent pool is starting to run dry?

Commercial for Constantine. I can hear DW screaming in agony from here.

I was wondering if this even happened! Trump could have just said 'yeah, I did it' - was he supposed to say 'wasn't me'?

How could they prove it either way?

From Street Smarts, I like John & Tara. These two seem like they'll do well both in leadership and team roles

Prediction: obnoxious Viking guy goes home first from this team in a nice display of that little bit of karma he was just talking about.

From Book Smarts, I can't tell yet...Kendra?

Look at all the time left on the episode clock -- this is going to be a very long boardroom.

'Worst promotion ever'? Carolyn's not exactly ready to give up any camera time, is she?

Oh, please blame Danny for everything, starting with his dressing like an escapee from Anchorman's extra pool.

Verna's throwing Danny under the bus. First dissing the clothes and now saying he should go home. And now Danny's telling people that they're wrong. Now people are selling him out.

Can both Todd and Danny go home? Anchorman and Wes II, please?

Todd: "my strategy was to divide them up into two groups - inside and advertising"

George: "you missed the point of sales - only 2 people on register - the idea was not to promote Burger King, but was to sell the burgers"

Carolyn & George both said the promotion stunk

Danny is trying to explain his 'style'
They're harping on him for his style (when did the Apprentice become a fashion show?)

Danny is doing a pretty good job saving his a$$ in there...

Everyone wants to fire Danny except Kendra (Kendra says it was Todd's fault for not keeping Danny un check)

Todd takes Alex & Danny in the board room

"WAIT A SECOND!"
Posted by Fishercat on 01-20-05 at 09:50 PM
Who is this "Kendra" girl? I know there's an insular ***** on the Amazing Race by that name, but she just showed up in the game? It's like David and Jeff from the Amazing Race, showing up during the last leg and getting stuck in Hawaii.

Anyway, it's definitely going to be Todd or Danny. Todd because he brought lawyer boy into the boardroom (I think there's a reason of failing as manager, but we didn't hear anything about that in the BR, only prior to) or Danny because he didn't execute on the promotion. They could at least give away Yankee/Met tickets.

George: "if I looked in the dictionary at the definition of loose cannon there'd be a picture of Danny" - but Todd's leader ship was why they failed - only two people at register

Carolyn: Kendra is the only one who realized (or didn't go along with the group) that Danny wasn't the reason they lost

Alex opens his trap and takes the blame for the point-of-sales issue (MO-ron)

DT: Todd: did a lousy job as a leader
Danny: you're a disaster
Todd: you're fired

Someone just leaves? Could it be -- Danny? (The sound you just heard was every summarizer from Episode #3 on dropping to their knees in prayer.) And that leaving will probably eliminate the chance of a double-firing this season -- unless Donald talking about a weird position means he can't cut two people from the minicorps this early.

Posted by kidflash212 on 01-20-05 at 11:54 PM
This is becoming a pattern - every season for the first few weeks Donald avoids firing the quirky "characters" even when they deserve it. Clearly it's for ratings. Todd was as generic a businessman as it goes so I feel no great loss at seeing him leave but honestly, Danny has zero chance of being the Apprentice and was a total screw up. It really should have been Danny tonight. Did everyone see his cardboard box promotion? That alone was reason to fire him. I've seen better promotions at garage sales and flea markets.

Posted by MarkNS on 01-21-05 at 00:18 AM
I've noticed that many people have commented on her shawl/goatskin/scary-furry-thing wrap on various forums and I agree that that alone is enough to detest her with the very fibre of my being...but there is a better reason to do so.

What the hell was with her little crying jag in the PM's room before they had to go up to the boardroom. "ooh, it's all so hard, I don't want to eliminate my friends...booo hooo wahhhhh" or whatever the hell she said. This was an outrageously obvious attempt to garner sympathy from the PM so she wouldn't be taken to the boardroom. He should have responded with a simple "Suck it up Princess". I wish she had been eliminated for that alone...although...her complete inability to use the Burger King touch screen was also indicative of someone who deserves my scorn. These things are run by teenagers on their first job and by older folks who have to work at BK..nuff said.

I hate Erin and I want her off the show.
