At least I think it's episode 3.

Post your thoughts and rantings here on the episode, folks.

First challenge: One contestant on each team must balance 20 plates of food at once and serve them to a table of hungry patrons.

Question... why is Lexie still wearing her backpack while delivering plates? Wouldn't that put more stress on her to carry these plates while she is also carrying the backpack? If she's worrying about her stuff getting stolen, leave it with Trey.

Too bad it was Gary that ended up doing the plates. I would have liked to see how Will did with his capability to get frustrated at the slightest thing.

Egghead (balance a fire on head and cook eggs) or Lion's Head (join a traditional Japanese processional parading down the street).

Chippendale (upon walking with a lion's head): I feel like I made out with 947 Indonesian people - you don't know how many people have had their mouths up in this mask.

It's only 8:33 pm and we already have a team at the pit stop. Abbie and Ryan finishes first and wins a trip for two to the Fiji Islands.

Trey and Lexie are right behind them in second place.

Chippendales in 3rd.

James and Abba in 4th.

Meanwhile, we still have a few teams on the second train that is three hours behind the first group, so plenty of action still to come. Gary/Will, Rob/Kelley, Natalie/Nadiya, Caitlin/Brittany still on the train.

Josh and Brent in 5th.

Lots of drama to come with Double U-Turns in play.

Natalie/Nadiya in 6th place.

Rob/Kelley in 7th.

Really not liking the anonymous nature of the current U-Turn: half the fun was always in the 'It was you who done did this to me!' hysterics when people saw the inflicting picture.

Agree, it was more enjoyable when teams knew who were trying to backstab them with the opportunity to confront or give pay-back later on.

and?
identifying the turner let the turnee know one team for sure for them NOT to u-turn.
In this leg, the turnee u-turned the team that u-turned them; thus wasting using it; and otherwise would have known that they should u-turn the girls; however they beat them in the end anyway.

(was that too much turning in one post?)

Anyone know the rule for U-Turns? Pretty sure I remember that a team may only use the U-Turn once during the entire race. Did Gary & Will waste their one shot?

A first I've seen on this show! One of Natalie/Nadiya turned and smoked her face right on the TAR crew's camera.

You'd think we would have seen someone turn and smack into one of the cameras before this.

Or maybe this was just the first time it was funny?

Yeah you'd think it would have happened far more often than what we've seen, but prolly the first time they've actually left it in the final edits instead of on the cutting room floor. It was quite a smack, I'd bet on a bruise appearing in the next episode (which might be why they left it in there in the final edit as a way to explain the bruise).

Kind of have too much episode left for the teachers to pick the wrong team, yes?

Seems that way. But do you trust the editors to be sane?

"RE: Pacing spoiler."
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 10-14-12 at 08:52 PM
Seems the delay is that Caitlin/Brittany are totally lost and can't seem to find the U-Turn mat, while Gary/Will are doing the fire part of the detour. The editing is sure making it appear like they're really close.

"RE: Pacing spoiler."
Posted by kidflash212 on 10-15-12 at 09:39 AM
I really thought the editing was trying to create suspense where there was none and Britney & Caitlin would get to the mat long before Dandrew Gary & Will.

And this is why I gave up in the Casino early.

"U-Turned:"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 10-14-12 at 08:47 PM
Gary and Will.

In what appears to be a fatal gameplay move, Gary/Will decide to u-turn Rob/Kelley, not knowing they have already been at the pit stop with only Caitlin/Brittany still out there on the course along with Gary/Will.

I really expected a NEL and was surprised.

Please don't let Gary & Will get saved by an NEL next week.

We have Caitlin/Brittany and Gary/Will racing to the pit stop in their bicycle taxis.

Gary/Will arrives at the pit stop in 8th place.

Taxi driver realizes he's lost and turns around, Caitlin/Brittany say "you cost us the race!"

Caitlin/Brittany have been eliminated from the race - the girls say they pointed the way to go to the driver, but he took a different direction, which is why they lost time.

Cait and Brit also bitched that the driver spoke no English. C'mon.

"RE: Race to the pit stop..."
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 10-14-12 at 09:03 PM
It was one thing that the driver didn't know any English, but he gave them a hard time about the money too. The girls kept asking how much to pay and offered up different currency bills but the driver kept waving his hand around before finally accepting one of the bills. That cost them some time. And then the driver got completely lost, despite the girls trying to tell him to go a different way. This one is all on the driver and the girls got screwed.

That didn't give them the right to scream as loud as they could, "DOES ANYONE SPEAK ENGLISH!?!?!" ...and they did it several times.

I'm glad they're gone! They were beeyotches, who thought their sh!t didn't stink and looked like intolerant, ugly Americans.

I'd like to induct that driver into the Bad Cab Hall Of Fame, but he'd never find it. How do you get so lost on the way to the Pit Stop that you wind up at the other half of the Detour? The world may never know.

It wasn't on the way to the Pit Stop, it was on the way to the U-Turn. Still yeah, that driver takes the cake!

At this stage of insomnia, I'm just glad I can remember they were in -- in -- some country or other.

Gary & Will have clearly inherited the fluke luck of Teri & Ian and Dandrew. Saved by another teams bad transportation two weeks in a row.
