"Summary writer sign-up thread for NBC's The Apprentice 3"

Posted by SurvivorBlows on 12-28-04 at 10:32 PM
This thread is the episode summary writer sign-up thread for NBC's The Apprentice 3, which premieres Thursday, January 20 and will be consist of fifteen (?) episodes.

To sign up, please post your interest in this thread, as well as any applicable date restrictions that you may have. Writer selection will be arbitrary, sorry. Please note however, that we are also running open sign-up threads for several other shows, so if you are planning to reply to more than one of the above mentioned open sign-up threads, it would be helpful if you could note the other shows in your reply, so that we can try and ensure any proposed schedule doesn't schedule you for back-to-back summaries, commit you to more summaries than you were expecting, etc.

As a reminder, while all our summary writing is on a volunteer basis, etc. reliablity, timeliness (or at least status communication) is important, and that while we can't offer anyone any $$$, we do occasionally partner with companies to promote stuff and, if we can, I do try and pass some of the goodies.

Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
SB

Sure, I'll throw my name in the hat again. Any episode is fine with me.

ETA: I have offered to tag-team The Will too.

Back into the ring I go... The only other thing I'm remotely considering applying for is the premiere of Who's Your Daddy?, but I plan to hurt myself until the desire to explore rock-bottom goes away.

Edited to add: after a lot of thought, I also went for one Wickedly Perfect and a possible tag-team on The Will.

It's been awhile since I've done a summary for a Tier 1 show (I've got an LCS and Rebel Billionaire, as well as the original Mole), but I would definitely be interested in doing a summary that someone actually reads - a novel change.

Spring Break week (first week of March) would be the only restriction for me and I would prefer not to do the very first summary - anything else should work. Just lemme know.

To get a summary for Apprentice 3 (bc I did not get one for 2) but I do not think I will be watching this installment(can you blame me?)...and if I do, it will only be in passing no TIVO, etc....I don't think I'll be watching much else except Survivor 10 (I'll sign up for that when the premiere is announced) and if Amazing Race starts again after TAR 6 ends in February.

Sorry...but the Donald is just too irritating to watch anymore...

Count me in. Early in the month is better for me since we get really busy at work at the end of the month. I'm doing one for My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss on 1/30 (was supposed to be 1/2 but got delayed) and will be signing up for American Idol. Other than that, I'm pretty flexible.

it's been quite awhile since i have graced everyone with one of my recrap summaries.

i would like to get an episode closer to the end. (the content is usually better and there are less people to keep up with.) however, i'll take whatever you want to throw my way.
(if you need me to i might even be willing to write 2 summaries.)

Don't know if the crapfest will last that long, but I'm not available May 18-23.

And as usual, I'm tossing my my name in the hat for Survivor and Amazing Race.

Other than that, I'll probably want to do the finale of Forever Eden.

Thanks!

"Proposed schedule"
Posted by SurvivorBlows on 01-18-05 at 12:53 PM
Sorry for the delay folks, below is the proposed Apprentice 3 summary schedule. I've tried to take everyone's requests into account, but please respond below confirming whether the below assignment does or does not work for you.

Unfortunately since we had more volunteers than available episodes, we had to go to the previous writer and random draw phase, resulting in ohmyheck, becstar2005, and sorgee ending up without summaries, although if there is an additional episode (I'm assuming 15 episodes since that's how many last season's 18 contestant edition featured, not counting its Wednesday night recap) then sorgee gets first dibs.

Once again, thanks to everyone, it should be a great season.

01/20/05 - Episode 01 - Bucky Katt
01/27/05 - Episode 02 - TeamJoisey
02/03/05 - Episode 03 - aliciabbrown
02/10/05 - Episode 04 - Estee
02/17/05 - Episode 05 - PagongRatEater
02/24/05 - Episode 06 - greeneyes
03/03/05 - Episode 07 - idiotcowboy
03/10/05 - Episode 08 - trigirl
03/17/05 - Episode 09 - KObrien_fan
03/24/05 - Episode 10 - ssshaw
03/31/05 - Episode 11 - ARnutz

04/14/05 - Episode 13 - Oscirus
04/21/05 - Episode 14 - ginger
04/28/05 - Episode 15 - anotherkim

"Recap adjustment?"
Posted by AyaK on 03-14-05 at 04:47 PM
We now know two things we didn't know when we did the schedule below:

1) The episode on March 17 is a recap
2) The final episode will air on Thursday, May 12, according to a Canadian resource.

Let me think about what this means for a day.

Here's what I'd like to do:

1) No recap summary.
2) Keep everyone else on their assigned dates.
3) Move KObrien_fan to the end of the series.

And here's why:

I'll bet that Burnett had sold a specific amount of product placements, probably tied to company availability. Even though one player quit, he still may have a product placement to get in. Thus, he needs at least one more episode than we anticipated when we drew up the summary schedule.

Is this OK with everyone?

So I won't be summarizing the recrap, but if there is no episode at the end then I am out until the next one, right? If that works for you, that works for me.

"Yes, except..."
Posted by AyaK on 03-17-05 at 06:50 PM
...I'm pretty certain that there will be two more episodes than I scheduled writers for. If there aren't, Canadian TV has BIG scheduling problems!

"Writers?"

I'm trying to decide if that's encouragement or 'Don't go into the dark house, you fool!'

I'll tape it, anyway, just in case. After my cable system took me out of my half of TAR, I owe a summary.

"Reminder"
Posted by AyaK on 05-04-05 at 04:47 PM
After Estee's great pinch-hit summary of Ep. 14, this week's summary goes to ginger.

There are two episodes left. I'll do one if needed. But I'm still looking for at least one volunteer.

AyaK: I'm willing to take next week's episode (May 12th), since I don't have work until the next week which would give me plenty of time to work up something decent. Although, is that the finale? If so, I can understand wanting someone more experienced, since I only have a couple summaries under my belt (and on one of them, Pepe did half the work).

As I said, if you need someone, I can do that night with my free time.

Edit: It's not the finale, even better. I can't really take the 19th and be timely about it with school during the day and work during the night (or work during the day on weekends).
