"TAR 20 Episode #1 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

And to continue the single greatest tradition CBS has to offer, we're late. The golf tournament ended in a three-way tie, currently under sudden-death resolution, which means they play until they have not tied on a hole, the sun goes down at their location, or the TAR fans in the gallery scream and try to kill them.

Imagine MB putting up with this. You'll need the laugh.

Golf just ended so TAR 20 will be starting about 8:23 p.m. EST

I need to get a DVR because this late start is messing me up with Downton Abbey.

Oh, thanks for the heads up! I needed to DVR both TAR and Downton Abbey! You do need to get a DVR!

I'm scared to get a DVR because I don't want to watch that many shows, lol but I watch the Walking Dead too so Sunday is crazy. I think Downton is ending tonight but that still leaves the Zombies and TAR.

The Clowns were having trouble with the stick shift. I guess people still don't know that there are certain skill sets that you need to do this race. The ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle is one of them.

At some point, wouldn't it have made sense to start releasing the balloons?

Nice to see Rachel & Brendon living up to their IQs for a few seconds: actually paying attention to the edge patterns gave them a small advantage. But that's also reality experience at work -- they know details can be important and no show teaches you to sweat the small stuff like the count-your-silverware boredom of BB.

Wow! What a stupid way to get eliminated. We often laughed at contestants that missed seeing a clue box but not seeing Phil at the mat standing maybe 100 feet away??? Liked Phil's line: "Where are they going?" Right back to the states it's seems.

BTW, I start the casino in 1st place again!

Preiews: BBRachel and Vanessa go at it.
NonBBRachel and hubbie get in a shouting match:

Him - Silence is golden
Her - Then why don't you shut up!

That? Was Phil's WTF? Face.

"Preview footage?"
Posted by Estee on 02-19-12 at 10:27 PM
That -- was weird. Until now, TAR has really never shown multiple legs in advance. But there were too many tasks, backgrounds, and clothing changes for one episode's worth of material: we just got a look at what had to be at least three different legs.

This needs a Survivor-style breakdown. Any volunteers?

Ay! I can't do it tonight but can do it tomorrow to freeze-frame my way through the preview.

Thankee. I had no capture mechanism going or I would have already done something with the soon-to-be-immortal Phil WTF?

A couple shots of the Phil WTF face...

Phil said coming up this season, gives the spoilers a bit more to work with I suppose.

"Finish order?"

I didn't account for a delayed start due to golf, so I lost the last 20 minutes of the broadcast, and the episode video isn't up yet.

From memory. (I could be off on the middle teams because they just rolled in one after the other and I don't quite know them yet)

1- Rachel/Dave
2- Brenchel
3- Art/J.J.
4- Nary/Jamie
5- Elliot/Andrew
6- Vanessa/Ralph
7- Bopper/Mark
8- Dave/Cherie
9- Kerri/Stacey
10- Joey/Danny

Thanks for putting the order of finish. I tuned into Downton Abbey so I didn't seen anyone after Rachel and Dave.

Thanks for the list. After I posted, I remembered that I taped the show after TAR (The Good Wife), so I was able to watch that recording and see the last 20 minutes of the episode.

I hope you taped CSI Miami after so that you could see all of Good Wife.

I missed about 10 minutes due to snow on the dish.

Snow on the dish? In your area?

Nope, I never imagined that the TAR start time could be delayed by a frickin' golf tournament. I'll be watching the last part of The Good Wife off the CBS website.

no comments about Booper & Mark?
What a couple of characters!
Good ole country boys. Yes, they are going to give us many opportunities to laugh out loud.
Booper / Bopper is going to be the loudest mouth of the 2 it appears;
So Mark gets car sick in the back seat?
Just knew he's be hurling in the airplane too - yewwwww.

"RE: Whut?"
Posted by kingfish on 02-20-12 at 10:34 AM
Motion sickness is not a good thing to discover in a partner when traveling around the world. Although Mark's perpetually emptying stomach might be useful for the gorge on food challenges.

And I don't think we'll have to put up with Booper for long, he doesn't strike me as someone who can interact with locals very successfully.

Booper knew Mark would get sick in the back seat!
Notice the next time Mark was driving.

Booper may do very well with the locals; he's loud so he may be able to get lots of attention.
I'd like to see them around for awhile; they may get annoying but if their situation at home is as it was shown, it would be nice to see someone win that really needs the money.

In my travels, loud Americans (or British, Canadian, or any foreign nationals) tend to not do well with locals. However with BBRachel in the mix, he probably won't be the most obnoxious. Previews are already showing her in one crying meltdown.

And hey, I really need the money too.

"RE: Whut?"
Posted by Karchita on 02-21-12 at 02:19 AM
Agreed. Loudness repels locals. They'll have a really hard time getting any help unless they can tone it down - a lot.

OTOH, if they win, maybe Booger (or whatever) can get himself some teeth.

But a pair this clueless is not going to make it too far anyhow.
