Andy Rooney tribute repeated a lot of his retirement tribute, wonder what Andy would have said about that.

On time here as well. I'm not sure how long it will take Estee to recover from the Giants/Pats game, but I'm sure she'll be along sometime.

I always wait until about 8:15 to start watching TAR. That gives the TiVo enough recording lead time to allow me to fast-forward through all the commercials and still finish on time.

Maybe they could also supply one of those local greeters for the night. Some have been quite cute.

Puzzle of the Malawiian flag.

ETA: It looks like one of those sliding number puzzles.

Everyone else is completing the roadblock - give rides on a bike/cab until you earn enough money (how much?)

I suck at those things. Of course it would help if I didn't quit after a few minutes.

"RE: Speed Bump"

Thought that was a good choice for a speed bump - just tough enough if you're not used to that kind of puzzle, but do-able in the long run. It has the potential to be a time-killer so let's see how Amani does with it - as of the commercial break, she had every piece in place except that one corner was on the bottom instead of on the top, so she'll have to literally start over again.

Oh, yuck, a slide puzzle. I like puzzles and brain teasers, and I'm decent at them, but for some reason I can't do slide puzzles. Hopefully my partner would be good at them, or we'd be in trouble.

"Dug Out or Lug Out"
Posted by Snidget on 11-06-11 at 09:21 PM
Dug Out. Paddle a traditional canoe out to some drummers and back.

Lug out. Get like was it 8 passengers and various other things from a ferry to the shore traditional style (on your shoulders) without getting anyone/thing wet.

"RE: Dug Out or Lug Out"
Posted by Earl Colby Pottinger on 11-06-11 at 09:39 PM
I can't believe how bad most teams are at paddling.

"RE: Dug Out or Lug Out"
Posted by michel on 11-06-11 at 10:10 PM
Especially the sailors. I thought they'd be at least above average.

"RE: Dug Out or Lug Out"

Well, it looked like they did alright once Laurence calmed down and stopped treating Zac like he didn't know anything.

"RE: Dug Out or Lug Out"
Posted by kidflash212 on 11-06-11 at 10:13 PM
Two tough physical Detours - If a U-turn had actually been used the team would have been exhausted.

"RE: Dug Out or Lug Out"
Posted by michel on 11-07-11 at 08:21 AM
Tough detour and totally unfair. First it came much too late in the leg and imagine if a team of women had been detoured. A very strong guy like Marcus barely finished it.

"Ruh-Roh!"
Posted by ARnutz on 11-06-11 at 09:22 PM
Justin has Jennifer's clue and she doesn't know what to do with her money.

Amani/Marcus are on to the bikes.

"RE: Ruh-Roh!"
Posted by Snidget on 11-06-11 at 09:27 PM
And going back to find out what the clue is (because you'd have to go back there eventually, most likely) doesn't seem to register as an option.

Is there anyone left for her to run into?

"RE: Ruh-Roh!"
Posted by ARnutz on 11-06-11 at 09:28 PM
I don't think so. I believe Amani/Marcus already finished the bike task as they were in 6th place.

"RE: Ruh-Roh!"
Posted by michel on 11-06-11 at 10:12 PM
That was one of the dumbest mistakes ever. I mean, misreading a clue or losing it is one thing but giving it to your partner that doesn't need it???

"RE: Ruh-Roh!"
Posted by kidflash212 on 11-06-11 at 10:17 PM
I agree - wouldn't your first thought be to go back and get the clue? How could standing around for a long time hoping some other team will ride by be the best course of action?

"RE: TAR 19, Episode 7 ... East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by MsShel330 on 11-06-11 at 09:24 PM
Jennifer stupidly left the clue with Justin so she has no idea what to do after dropping off her passenger and getting paid. She's just standing around.

"RE: TAR 19, Episode 7 ... East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by ARnutz on 11-06-11 at 09:27 PM
Dumb! She could've went back to Justin and got the clue by now!

"RE: TAR 19, Episode 7 ... East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by Estee on 11-06-11 at 09:29 PM
I'm pretty sure Vizzini already solved this problem.

Forget taking the clue: how about reading it? Just glancing over the contents after you're picked should be enough to get the goals in mind...

"RE: TAR 19, Episode 7 ... East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by featherfish81 on 11-06-11 at 09:57 PM
She also must have forgotten that not all the teams were going to the same place, so the odds were small that another team was going to come along. I wonder how long she waited.

Not sure about that one because some teams are cast ONLY for their potential explosions.

#11 If you're afraid of heights, get over it. You will probably have to face a challenge that requires do something several hundred or thousands of feet above the ground.

#12 Although not as common as in earlier races, you might face an eating challenge. These are rarely vegetarian friendly, or for that matter, diet friendly. Be prepared to gorge yourself on something that you would never dream of eating.

Ernie/Cindy start the canoe race, but decide to move on because of the W-Turn.

Are screaming at Zac & Sandy in their canoes.

Ernie/Cindy cannot find the shop.

"RE: Laurence & Jeremy"

Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners must be a real joy in the Sunderland household with Laurence lording it over everyone else in the house.

But at least - ha hah! at Laurence for trying to put an U-Turn on Amani/Marcus, but the latter team had already been by there...

Maybe they thought it worked more like a hex. They're idiots. Hard to say.

"RE: Laurence & Jeremy"
Posted by michel on 11-07-11 at 08:23 AM
Or maybe they thought Phil would send them back to do it. That's the only thing that would make sense.

"RE: Laurence & Jeremy"
Posted by featherfish81 on 11-07-11 at 06:56 PM
I think it's because they saw them going the wrong way, away from the clue box, and assumed they were lost and behind them. Not that they had already been there and were moving on. I'm not sure why they thought that, though.

"RE: TAR 19, Episode 7 ... East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by ARnutz on 11-06-11 at 09:38 PM
Ernie/Cindy get to the W-turn first, don't use it and head to the pit stop.

Andy/Tommy are right behind them (it seems).

Justin and Jennifer are out of the race.

Laurence and Zac aren't too bright. They didn't realize that Amani and Marcus were ahead of them, not behind.

"RE: TAR 19, Episode 7 ... East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by VisionQuest on 11-06-11 at 10:03 PM
That move really puzzled me. I couldn't understand that reasoning, they knew J and S were definitely behind them, but they choose to u turn a team they see coming out of the same area. Scratching my noogin.

"RE: TAR 19, Episode 7 ... East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by dabo on 11-07-11 at 00:43 AM
Each team is still only allowed one U-turn of another team per race, I believe, so

They wasted their U on a team that was ahead of them
They wasted their U when they really didn't need to worry
and
They won't be able to U anyone in the future should they need it to insure they stay in the race.

Justin/Jennifer - Philiminated

"RE: Finish Order"

I can't say I blame Andy & Tommy for going all out to win but since this wasn't the final leg, it might have been better strategy to let Ernie & Cindy win.

"RE: Finish Order"
Posted by jbug on 11-07-11 at 10:43 AM
When A & T were jumping off the canoe & running the beach, sorta playing w/ the kids, I was liking them - such a fun attitude.

Then? they smashed it for me.
I just knew they'd get 10 feet from the mat & hit the brakes, allowing Ernie & Cindy to pass them.
I realize it is a race. But leaving first on the next leg by a couple of seconds is not going to help them.
They'd won 3 prizes - default prizes. Why not show some good will and miss this one? Could have meant big down the line if they need help & E & C are around to give it. E& C could very easily have U-turned them this leg (& probably wish they had).
As it is, now they are the target. And I hope a u-turn is used on them.
this should be in claps & slaps I know
