Apparently, she was the producer's third choice.......

First they were gonna pick Molly, but then Jason took that away. Then they asked Melissa, but she was still too burned to do it again. So they went to third place Jillian.

Well, I guess that should put to rest the rumblings that Melissa was in it for the fame. She surely could be extending her 15 minutes, but she is smarter than I thought.

Molly should have rejected Jason and taken the show. Then she could have begged him to come on and compete for her all over again. LOL.

Good luck to Jillan. I'm sure she'll be hated before her season is over. Happens.Every.Time.

Maybe we could start a speculation thread as to *how* Jillian will implode. I never in a million years would have thought that Jason would not only do what Deanna did, but step it up by choosing one, proposing and then dumping her on national tv only to then go after the other just a couple moments later. Nice work, Douche Bag!

So how does Jilliam ruin her now sparkly reputation and plummet to the depths of Bachelor/Bachlorette seedy selfish shallowness?

I don't even have any good guesses! Maybe make a big deal of the whole Canada v. US?

I think it is when you go from being a faithful to one person to having to flirt with a dozen or so.

I think that all by itself turns you from "good person who deserves love" to "adulterer that should be stoned".

Add in the fact that the only person being more manipulated than the hopefuls is the bachelor(ette) and there really isn't a lot of hope of ending the show looking like a sweetheart.

Melissa was on The Ellen Show today. She said that her and the other women look back and realize they were doing everything to get Jason's attention. They had to do all the work. When Jason didn't really have to do anything to get the attention. It was so one sided. Then when it is over you realize you don't know that much about him because he didn't have to give of himself the same way the women did.

It's funny that you mention the pursuing thing because that's the one genuine thing that I seemed to pick up on watching the ATR1. All of sudden, instead of Molly pursuing Jason, the tables had turned and finally, he was the one doing the pursuing.

This program has crossed the line. How does the network get by with the whole soft porn thing, anyway? All of the people that participate in it are ho-ing themselves out, and they, and the viewers all know it beforehand.

I know I will continue to read the postings on the board. They are amusing. But I will not watch the program anymore. I am done with wretching while watching body fluids exchanged with multiple persons. And this in an age where we are supposed to be conscious of infecting one another with God only knows what. Call me a germaphobe. I can at least stomach that.

Actually, I loved Meredith....just loved her and her season. She had fun, and she had such a sparkling personality.

I haven't watched the last Bachelor or the last Bachelorette though.

Really Deb?
By the end of her season I couldn't stand Merideth. She told her reject (forget his name) that she loved him, and then dumped him like the next day. I will never understand why these people go so out of their way to lead the losers on.

Actually, it would be funny to go back and compare. I swear they bachelor/ette seem to be performing from the same script each season.

I wanted IAN for myself (nevermind the dh), and Meredith messed it up. I always say I won't watch it again, but it's fun to see the other trainwrecks and realize my couch potato life isn't so bad after all...

Ian is the one she chose. Matthew is the one she told she loved him while cuddling on the couch and then broke up with him the next day.

I wanted him also. I wish he would appear again, yum, yum.

I never did like Meredith so I was disappointed when she was asked to be the Bachelorette. And I really got upset with how she led Matthew on. I never liked Ian and thought they deserved each other. I thought Meredith went out of her way to try and convince Matthew he was the one. There was no need to lead him on that way.

I agree completely. She almost asked Matthew to propose to her!

ET Canada did a clip about the new season with Jillian. She has 30 men to pick from. 5 bachelors crash the party to up it from 25.
