"Depart"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:05 PM
LAST EDITED ON 11-28-10 AT 09:07 PM (EST)

J/T 8:25 to Hong Kong, Bus and Ferry to Cheung Po Island
N/V 1:59 pm

First flight out is like 11:55 pm or something so lots of catch up time, assuming there is lots of room for everyone.

J/T look like they made the first bus by themselves, everyone else on the next bus.

"On the Ferry"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:13 PM
J/T waiting to see if the rest catch up. Vicki having an asthma attack, Nick peeved at here.

Everyone but N/V on the ferry, and Nick sick of her being sorry.

Interesting that J/T said they didn't know which team was eliminated.

Checking the math... J and T left at 8:25 while N and V left at 1:59, so that is 5:34 in between. I didn`t think that the last two teams left that much later than the second team did, did they - at least six and a half hours later... I know Chad and Steph were quite a way back, but that far back of second...

"RE: On the Ferry"
Posted by Snidget on 11-29-10 at 08:29 AM
Yep, sounds like enough distance between them and even the second team (they said they saw no one) that they probably ate and toddled off to bed long before the rest of them got in and got up and left after the rest of them had gone to bed.

There does seem to be plenty of time for that.

Asthma is so selfish sometimes.

That's one of the reasons that I would never try to do this race, I have asthma and I know it would flare up at times.

"Ferry back to Hong Kong"

Go to a particular Chinese Restaurant.

Claire having problems running and Brooke not quite as bad as Nick about it.

Why in the world would a Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong call itself a Chinese retaurant?

"Roadblock"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:21 PM
Who is feeling peckish.

Must find the fake food in the buffet, any real food they pick up they have to eat.

Distraction: Karaoke

"RE: Roadblock"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:28 PM
Nick and Vickie catch up to Brooke and Claire.

Claire and Vickie both doing the eating.

Clare barfs. The bathroom looked clean.

"RE: Roadblock"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:31 PM
The let Claire use a toilet to vomit?

Don't they usually give them a bucket and make them eat right next to it?

Are they getting soft, or is there too many health codes here?

"RE: Roadblock"
Posted by Estee on 11-28-10 at 09:46 PM
Health codes, the audience, and they're in at least a middle-range establishment. Besides, if there's any splash zone, there goes the whole Roadblock.

Along with half the audience.

I LOVE BRUCE LEE!
Also, any excuse to eat Chinese food would be more than fine with me.

"Avenue of stars"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:26 PM
Find Bruce Lee Statue

Detour.

Ding Ding, Tram system, find three signs that reveal the next location. If you don't get it the first time around, have to go back to the beginning and start over.

Sam Pan, board a traditional boat with a bird cage and find a particular boat and trade the birds for a clue.

"RE: Avenue of stars"

Camera man seems to think signs

Pit Stop
Statue
Square

Might be of some importance.

"RE: Avenue of stars"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:38 PM
Jill and Thomas leaves the Ding Dings and joins the doctors in the boat hunt.

Brook and Claire head for the Boat Search.

Jill/Thomas find it quickly.

Finally found their weakness, Jill and Thomas can't read big bright neon signs.

Good thing the twenty-foot rule doesn't apply during Roadblocks.

Or puking leads to clarity and enlightenment about fake food.

Brooke & Claire: excessive celebration, minus fifteen yards.

The parakeets aren't the only things trying to drown themselves.

Jill/Thomas are team #2

"Nick Gives Up"

It isn't worth it, and she keeps looking.

Did the cameraman show that Nick? had the right one lit up pretty early on?

Vickie should have just thrown Nick overboard and spared all of us.

Of course this is a non-elim leg so V/N live to race another day. The next leg they have a 6 hour penalty plus a speed bump so this will be interesting.

"RE: TAR 17- Episode 10 East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by Estee on 11-28-10 at 09:58 PM
I had the same thought about Nick: I would have given serious consideration to rolling him into the harbor and racing solo the rest of the way. Sadly, Vicki lets herself get pushed around. A lot. This team is taking on the Jonathan & Victoria aspect: the first shove is somewhere around the corner -- especially given a partner who may be on the verge of getting himself thrown out. If only Phil had declared elimination leg on the spot.

Hey Nick?

See post number 5 above. Think Vicki hasn`t earned the right to dump on you by now?

"Finish Order"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:55 PM
1. Nat/Kat Rio de Janeiro trip as prize
2. Jill/Thomas
3. Brook/Claire
4. Nick/Vicki Take the 6 hour penalty

This is a non-elimination leg and a speed bump.

"Pop Quiz"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 09:59 PM
This leg was always planned to be a

A. Non-elimination leg
II. An elimination leg but they changed it at the last minute just to torture Nick
3. None of the above

"RE: Pop Quiz"
Posted by dabo on 11-29-10 at 02:04 AM
Just swallow it whole, don't worry if it's faked.

"Next Week"
Posted by Snidget on 11-28-10 at 10:00 PM
6+ hours of bunching?

Who will float, who will fall down, who will make the finale??

"RE: Next Week"
Posted by Estee on 11-28-10 at 10:03 PM
Who will be detained in North Korea and never seen again?

Will Faux designate Brooke & Claire as traitors?

Is there any chance this is an NEL?

And will Vicki find her spine in time to take her best odds on getting Nick shot?

"The rules change..."
Posted by Estee on 11-28-10 at 10:01 PM
Failure to finish either leg of a Detour: six-hour penalty instead of twenty-four -- and in this case, added on to the check-out time. (As the last team by a good margin, Vicki & Nick was probably told not to wait it out and just head in.)

BTW, is it just me, or does Vicki look more like Sarah Palin every week?

"RE: The rules change..."
Posted by vince3 on 11-29-10 at 01:18 AM
Even at 'only' 6 hours, that and the 15 minutes-ish of the Speed Bump means that they definitely need a bunch point along the lines of what they got to start this leg to have a decent shot at making Final 3....

"where are they now?"
Posted by jbug on 11-29-10 at 11:41 AM
I'd like to see a "Where are they now"
show about TAR racers.

Are the couples still together?
Has any one killed another?
Are the friends still friends?
