"Renovations"

Painting and other things.

C/J Depart at 10:15 am to Sweden, they have been given tickets but don't have to use them.

What was the point of the assigned flight then? Why not just let them get their own flights as they usually do.

Fallback option, since there weren't too many of them?

They first returned to the Primary School to help with renovations.... during the Pit Stop.

Connor/Jonathan 10:15

Depart to the Artic Circle. Kiruna, Sweden. They have assigned tickets, but don't have to use them... they then have to head to the Icehotel... actually the warehouse to keep the pieces frozen during the summer time...

Express pass team start 7th... don't want to use it unless necessary...

Father/Son tell Father/Daughter that there is possibly an earlier way to get there, but the layover is shorter...

Nat/Kat are in the Internet Cafe looking at flights themselves... and they tell the other all-girl team about it...

The singers also start looking for another flight, but are stoned...

All teams are on the initial flight, but the connecting flight is the issue...

Nick actually thought the Arctic Circle was a place in Ghana? This stupidity is bound to get them eliminated when they book a flight to the wrong country.

Well, technically, the cab could have taken them from Ghana to the artic circle!!

"There is an earlier flight"
Posted by Snidget on 10-17-10 at 08:13 PM
Looks like everyone made the earlier flight to Frankfurt, but only a couple of teams have the earlier flight to Sweden.

Doctors, Gary and Mallory, Brook and Claire

Jogging through the airport trying to make the flight.

Michael and Kevin who I think were the first to look for the earlier flight are stuck in an elevator.

They make the flight.

5 way sprint for last.

"World's most difficult speed bump"

Sit for 10 minutes.

Although the chairs are ice, so kinda cold.

And who in their right minds would be wearing soccer shorts in northern Sweden when there is still signs of snow outside? He got what he deserved to have to sit on a block of ice for ten minutes with these shorts!

And he had on long pants later in the leg. If I had clue that said go to the Ice Hotel, I'd put on some long pants on the plane.

And another lame speedbump - not quite as bad as the Rhode Island cops last season but still bad. I think a speedbump should set back a team about 30 minutes.

I agree it was pretty lame and that it should take about 30 minutes. In this case, they still would have finished before the last team.

To me, Kevin wearing shorts in Sweden is typical of most kids his age. They all think they're invincible - and that includes the cold. I LOLed when he complained he only had on ankle socks. It reminded me so much of my son, son's friends, nephews....

I agree: Since when is sitting down for 10 minutes considered a "task"?

Probably since it was on blocks of ice, and the clock could reset if you got up?

Summer training sled
Grab flags as you go buy.
Penalty lap around the camp for each flag you miss.
Get Pelts for the flag and return.

Lvoe this roadblock. Several of those dogs reminded me of Jasmine.

Was that a real bear? or a guy in a costume?

Either animatronic or costume...

"Running off in a random direction"

without any sort of race marker of any kind always works.

Even better when you won't stop to think for a long time because it just has to be right if you are running that direction.

"Detour"

Sleds or Beds.

Use an extreme sports sled go down a course in less then 1:58.

Encampment must build the tent and the interior done they get a clue.

Chad giving Stephanie the glare of death because she doesn't want to try the sled a second time after crashing (although she didn't seem to crash as bad as Kat, but she is really scared).

I mean it isn't like they have another option or anything and standing there for hours waiting for her to die from your stare really speeds things up.

In other news, the Express Pass is used.

To give credit where credit is due - Nick & Vicki handled the Detour the best of all the teams both getting it on the first try.

Posted by michel on 10-17-10 at 11:03 PM
I think this had to be one of the best combination Roadblock-Detour ever. Both looked like a lot of fun to do, they weren't easy but not impossible to do either.

I think this bunch may just get me to write my first Lvoe list in a few seasons! Brooke and Claire's interviews remind me of BB's Will and Boogie!

LOL - I was mentally writing a lvoe list when I was watching the show. There's a nice mix of characters this year.
